Paul wrote to the churches to tell them they were caught in sin. Try to tell modern churches that they are caught in perpetual sin. You will be silenced. You will lose your church membership. You will be thrown out.

The American church wouldn't be the one getting the letter. If anything, Paul would be using the American church as an example of what false Christianity looks like. American Christianity looks nothing like the 1st century church. As it stands, the Catholic and Protestants observe traditions and preach beliefs that were completely alien to the original apostles.

The whole chapter of Jeremiah 23 is written to these false pastors/prophets ..... Here is the first few of that chapter...
Jer 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
Jer 23:2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Ezekiel 13 covers the false prophets as well.....
Eze 13:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
      Eze 13:2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
Eze 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

@@238act It is wise to examine the 'Who' is being spoken to in each chapter... To apply "the church" to those being addressed in each chapter would not be correct.... Some are written to "Babylon", some concern other tribes and The House of Judah, and the house of Israel (who by this time had dispersed after the Assyrian captivity... While the book is a big part of the Bible as a whole, to affix "the Church" would be to be to overlook many details of importance... One important fact is there are 7 Churches according to Revelation 2 and 3... They all existed at the time, and all are here now....

@@andrewandres148 every church in the Bible was started by the Apostles. The Apostles had one belief that started in Acts 2:38.
Unless you have been in a Holy Ghost filled tongue talking and interpreting church it is hard for any religious person to understand what the Bible is telling us. The Bible clearly warns us over and over again about false teachers and Apostles. The devil has sent out many false teachers and started many religions.
We have to follow and obey what the Bible says. You must be baptized in the name of Jesus and you must stop sinning and you must have charity and Timothy and Titus tell us what it takes to be a church leader.

I wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate with [sexually] immoral people- not meaning the immoral people of this world, or the greedy ones and swindlers, or idolaters, for then you would have to get out of the world and human society altogether! But actually, I have written to you not to associate with any so-called [Christian] brother if he is sexually immoral or greedy, or is an idolater [devoted to anything that takes the place of God], or is a reviler [who insults or slanders or otherwise verbally abuses others], or is a drunkard or a swindler-you must not so much as eat with such a person. For what business is it of mine to judge outsiders (non-believers)? Do you not judge those who are within the church [to protect the church as the situation requires]? God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside [the faith]. Remove the wicked one from among you [expel him from your church].

Most of the points he made were exactly the same. Why didnt he mention the part where the church is literally failing its job which is to be a body. For most people its nothing more than just a place you go to on sunday and then you go home and forget the people and the sermon, or about how many churches are way to legalistic for people, (fire and brimstone teaching is not good whether someone says it is or not) and the antagonistic nature of people from churches like these. or about the church is failing the youth. Legit 21 year old adults get treated like children by the elders, and instead of behaving like adults and studying the bible they play games like leap frog or musical chairs (no im not kidding). Or the stench of fakeness at church people pretending to be something they are not. Or about how the church is too afraid to speak up about huge modern issues ect. ect.
All of the above reasons and more are reasons why people would rather sleep in on their day off

My friend! As a Christian from Europe! Jesus has nothing against doctors, he knows they are necessary. Jesus: »The healthy don't need a doctor, the sick do! I have come to call sinners to God to repentance, not those who think they are good enough anyway. « Jesus tells he is for the sinners like a doctor for the sick. He absolutely acknowledge the meaning and importance and skills of a doctor. He can heal, but normal people cannot heal, people need a doctor. That are also the grifters making money, they risk the life of those coming to them, when they prevent them from going to the doctor.
The grifter churches in the USA do bad things. That is why they tell their people to adore the sinner, the rich, the person committing adultary, sex with prostitutes Paul calls an unforgivable sin. All quiet on everything, but gay.
2 times it is mentioned in the Bible gay, Jesus never mentions it, 2000 times the Bible says to care for the poor and very often the Bible tells money does not bring people to God, in contrary it prevents them because they will love their wealth more than God. Even Salomon fell for money and was not the wise anymore.

A personal relationship with Jesus as my personal Savior will guide me with the Holy Spirits leading to a church that is 100% preaching the truth of the Word. The Word will not coddle me when I sin. Luke 22 it tells not to be lords over others like the pagans do. the romans set up a lord they think has a non biblical office that they have created. pope is not an office listed in scripture. Paul corrected peter when he was teaching error. the 7 churches in revelation were each addressed separately they didn't say check with peter first since he was a pope . Jesus told his deciples to serve and to act like the younger in humility if you want to be great wash feet clean up the widows house don't set up a throne were people worship a man and then right out of Babylon they add mother worship. read the two Babylons.

After being a member of the same church for over a decade, i went to one of the elders to tell him that i was being abused. The first words out of his mouth were, "stop playing the victim." Told to me by the same elder who told me that im not welcome in the collage ministry. By telling me im too old.. while i was the same age as one of the others that were in the college ministry. Told to me by the same elder who told me that my struggles are my own fault. And that im "not trusting God enough." To not being given credit for all the services that ive been doing for years. To listen to the elders giving credit to other people for the things they see me doing. To the same elders who tell me they will revoke my membership if i dare to tell anyone the truth about what i see in the church. And i didnt tell anyone except the pastor. You are losing people in the church, because the people in the church, treat people poorly.
Whenever i try to say anything to anyone, i get either ignored, or told that those were not true christians. Ok... but it happened. Paul wrote letters to the churches who were in sin. And his words were taken seriously. Nowadays, paul wouldnt be able to say anything, cause he would be ostracized by the church. Elders should be held to a higher standard. And if an elder is in a perpetual sin, we should be able to bring it to their attention, rather than be thrown out of the church without the ability to speak. And the elders destroy our reputation.

Every religious pastor said that God called him to preach.. The problem with that is Jesus has one true church. One Lord one faith one Baptism and that's it. Charity is pure love and devotion and if there is no charity then they are nothing. Satan has many churches and pastors working for him. I read the KJV and the Good News Bible because the GNT is a simple to the point English Bible. The KJV is easy to get wrong and lots of people don't even understand what it is trying to tell you. Every single Bible I have read even the Catholic Bible tells everyone that you must get baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins. Only a few churches do that.

On political activism: Sure we're not supposed to be activists in the Church, we're not to bring politics into the Church, but we are supposed to pull our politics out from it, our politics must be informed by Christ, so I'd say we are supposed to be activists, politics is supposed to be in service to the Church, not the church in service to politics, we are to call our leaders to be under obedience to God. That means we must stand against our governments in all ways when they violate God's charge to them, say on murder, theft, abortion, corruption, expansion of the state, authority, so we must be activists but we must be activists for Christ, for God, for the Levitical Law of the New Covenant.

This video is correct! Some 46 years ago I went to a conservative university and took classes for biblical training. I was told that there is no money in the ministry as a conservative pastor. In today’s world pastors are commanding 100 K plus salaries along with perks. Back in the day I visited the sick, evangelized, or anyone who was in need. Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, weddings, funerals as a student pastor. Preaching was expository, and a challenge to make corrections in one’s life. Sadly in today’s age committees, not preaching the whole word of God, pastors not fulfilling their responsibilities. Christians divorce and apathy have become the norm. These ministers are always selling books, fame stardom. This is not of God but the devil. I didn’t go into the ministry and if I did it wouldn’t be for how much money 💰 and perks I would receive; something is very wrong here!

The historical truth about the origins and evolution of the Bible, and the Christian faith, is very different than what folks have been hearing in Church for eons. Sadly, preachers that attended seminary know the true history of the Bible and the Christian faith, but preach traditional beliefs. The current denominations' failure to take the message to the world, near and far, does not mean it isn't pertinent. The true message will not give people the impression that God's benevolence can be turned on and off like a faucet. Concerning the prayer issue, God hears every prayer. That doesn't mean we get what we want or what "simply makes sense" to us. The answer will always be "yes", "no", or "not yet", based on God's will, not ours. Your points are well-taken though, especially seeing the hedonism and despair which surrounds us.

It’s not hard to figure out. The American evangelic church, by and large, has strayed from proper teaching of the correct interpretation of scripture. That, coupled with the fact that most modern translations of the Bible have numerous mistranslations, most of which are intentional, to support the presuppositions of the church. The Bible is neither innerent nor univocal, and the church should be teaching and addressing the Scripture in its context, warts and all.

People go get lost amongst a 1000 people and never truly know or serve Christ. But there are plenty of small 200 people or less Bible believing evangelical churches that preach the gospel. And there full of people that love Jesus and want to know Him more and more. Don't lose heart the true churches will survive as the others fall away.

From my Catholic high school book, Christ Teaches Us Today(1969)--But the kind of happiness that Jesus Christ promises is not the kind of happiness that the world normally thinks of. Christ does not promise pleasure and wealth. On the contrary, Christ promises that we will be happy, doing for His sake, the very things we think will make us unhappy. Christ tells us to fight temptation, to forgive our enemies, and to suffer for Him, if necessary. By the world's standards, these things are distasteful and should make us unhappy. But Christ, Who is Divine Wisdom Incarnate, promises just the opposite.

I would like to add a few. We turned the body of Christ in to a business. What do you call someone that sells their body? A prostitute. We also turned from scripture amd tried to pit God back in a building. Scripture says that God does not dwell in buildings built by human hands. Stop referring to the building as God's house. Born again believers are now God's house. And changed the focus to the church service from the service of the church. New Testament believers made a difference in their communities because they operated there. Everything done by the church revolves around the Sunday service. Let's serve the community so they come to church on Sunday, as an example.

Every time I’ve been to a church that wears fancy clothes it feels like some sort of fashion contest where the person with the most luxurious clothes is the one honoring the Lord the most. That just isn’t right and the Lord actually wants you to be humble not prideful.

It is about people taking the pulpit seriously because of how the pastor brings himself on the pulpit. If the pastor himself does not take thr pulpit seriously, why would the congregation? All churches need to heed the warning to the church In Sardis (In Revelation 3:1-6) because majority of us have the same tendency to want to be liked and respected by our modern culture and to have evidence of that, by having people around us. It makes us feel like something good is happening because "there's more people here" or because "we're having to put out more chairs" therefore "we must be doing something right" just because of the mere fact that we're attracting more people. If we begin to think like that then we also begin to think that whatever we're doing that's bringing more people is the right thing. That's the wrong mindset for churches to have. Not that we're against people being saved, but bringing people into the church just to fill it up is the wrong mindset for any and all churches to have. A faithful, Spirit-filled church is a God-centered temple of praise where Christians gather with the sole purpose to praise God (not to get some spiritual experience for themselves or make themselves feel good). A faithful, Spirit filled-church never compromises and never backs down on the full Gospel yet never makes itself the rock of offense because the Gospel does that more than adequately all on its own.

Here in Australia, in regards to point number 8, it is very rare that a pastor will wear a suit (unless they are conducting a wedding or a funeral). And finally, after coming late to the realization that I'd been indoctrinated into a bunch of unrealistic beliefs, I concluded that any all knowing, all powerful creator would be way more advanced than to expect fealty and worship from us. The Word, ie, the Bible itself, has to be the main focus on the sermon.... The in context, and correct meaning of words, and where else those words are used brings more meaning to the Word....
