    [Q] - How did you record this?
    [A] - I used OBS to record a VMWare virtual machine running on my desktop. This way I could show you how to install and configure OBS while actually using it at the same time.
    [Q] - Why is the audio out of sync with your cam in OBS?
    [A] - There is a noticeable audio delay because of the link between my webcam and the virtual machine hosting the lesson. This should not happen to you during your live streaming. Also the part where I'm on the TH-cam page is delayed by 20 - 30 seconds which is common for live streams.
    [Q] - How do I know what to set my upload bandwidth to?
    [A] - Go to speedtest.net and run a few tests and use the lowest upload bandwidth - 500kbps to give you wiggle room. (ex. for 2.5mbit use 2000kbps). It will take some trial and error to find the right rate where you get the best image quality without dropping frames.
    [Q] - How do I install custom plugins?
    [A] - Search Bing or Google for 'OBS Plugins' or 'OBS Extensions'. There are a ton of tutorials on installing them and most are not that difficult to use and really let you put a unique twist on your stream.

    Flv has one advantage over mp4. Flv container doesn't need encoder post-processing. So if OBS crashes while recording, the file wont be corrupted in most scenarios. While mp4 requires some encoder post-processing. Which means that if OBS crashes, your video will be gone.
    And you can change the container from flv to mp4 afterwards with ffmpeg and a simple batch file in just few seconds. It doesn't re-encode it. It literally just copies over the raw x264 data and sound of course.

      And in theory one could use OBS-MP just for the remuxing, and record with the old OBS.

    To make switching scenes on OBS less laggy, the best thing to do is use Global Sources. What this does is to keep your Game, Vidoes, Webcam etc. running in the background to make it flow better. You can also use them for CLR Browser plugins to make life easier for yourself by not constantly entering the same URL again and again. This works best on Intel i5 Processors and above and also AMD FX 8350 and above.

      Also I'm picking up a pair of ATH-M50x and a Blue Yeti Silver (USB) and was wondering, do you think I should get a Dac to go with them? Right now i'm just running off my Motherboard (Asrock 990FX Extreme 6). I remember that a few videos said Motherboard Audio is pretty good unless you are doing Pro work. I'm not doing any pro stuff just a small channel. Think i need one? also if you do i'm open to any suggestion under 200USD.

      The only thing that's holding me back from PS is the fucking price. It's $1500! That's crazy!

    • @coolbrotherf127
      @coolbrotherf127 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Captain Xno that's why you get gimp or something else that's cheap. Unless you actually want to edit photos all the time then spending the money on PS is a waste. There are other programs that are free or very cheap that have plenty of good tools to make cool photo edits. A simple google search should help you find them.

    15:40 That is untrue, there is a website called restream that allows you to stream to both twitch and TH-cam at the same time in either regular obs or obs studio

    • @BoneKrusherKate
      @BoneKrusherKate 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How will does it work is there no lag and would you recommend it?.Another question is there any other website that does both streaming on twitch and TH-cam at the same time or is it just that?

    • @GreatRandomMusic
      @GreatRandomMusic 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      CaptainDunzo It's mostly supported to obs studio, but you can use obs classic to use it, but all you do is sign up on their website, you connect your TH-cam, twitch, or any multiple services you want, you'll get a custom stream key and rtmp url from their website, and just place it into your obs, and then stream. And only the bandwidth being used will just go to restream so it doesn't cause any lag to the stream or stress on your pc. And I would absolutely recommend it for someone who wants to be able to stream to multiple platforms without putting stress on their system

    • @Ciarann

    Hi Jerry, thanks for this video. I learned how to use OBS with it. Now, I've made a couple of videos and selected full HD in the video settings at 30 fps, but the blacks look jagged and the video looks like a low res video scaled up, not like a true HD video. I tried recording another one at 60fps and it looks exactly the same, but much larger file size. Is there another area of OBS to tweak some settings to ensure the output recording is recording at the same quality my monitor is showing "me"?

    I would greatly appreciate if you could make a tutorial video on how to use adobe photoshop. I watched this video and it has been very helpful, more than any other tutorials I have seen. People fail to simplify it the way you did for me. I am trying to build my page like you did on this video but I am having trouble with finding the pics I save on my pc in obs and how can I design my own logos like you did in adobe?

      +MediaCrisp Wow, with that upstream I don't think live streaming is in the cards for you. But if you want to really try set the bit rate to 700kbps and set the resolution to 1280x720 at 24fps. It's not going to look good at all but it should work.

    I am starting to dip my toes into live streaming on youtube and twitch and this was a huge help. I know this video was posted over a year ago and OBS has stopped supporting the classic version but it has some great info. Perhaps an updated version for 2017?

    I really appreciate this! I have been trying to find a solid video tutorial on how to use OSB Studio to create tutorials on digital illustration. But I was running into vids that were really awful and/or useless. Until I found this one! So thank you! You just taught me everything I needed to know, even tho the kind of video I am making has nothing to do with gaming play throughs. You rock!

    Any thoughts on why my OBS video freezes when I try to preview a scene that has 2 camera sources? The audio keeps running and the video freezes until I disconnect my external webcam. (I'm attempting to use my internal DELL webcam and an external logitech.) OBS reports as 'not responding.' Once I unplug my external logitech everything works again until I try to stream or preview the stream with both webcams.

    I finally figured out how to stream LIVE on TH-cam using OBS, quick question, will there always be a 30 sec. lag between what's LIVE on OBS and TH-cam or is there a way to Sync them to where they're almost running side by side in real time ?
