What a difference between Cubans from Cuba as opposed to Cubans from Miami. Most notably racially. Interesting to see so many people of different skin tones. Because in Miami Cuban is almost synonomous with White/Republican. Just an observation.

+Angela Solomon It could be hard but anyway there's no much meat in Cuba. It depends also where you'll stay.In a particular house you can ask them to prepare vegetables meals for you. In a hotel perhaps there are vegan food available. Anyway you can also buy fruits and some vegatable in the "agromercados".

Cuban people are amazing, beatuifull and strong, they don´t deserve to be kept hostage of the socialist dictatorship and I hope it ends really soon....I was there in 2001 and I saw hundry kids in the country side and people pleading us to help them get out of the country, people being scare of going wiht toerist to the beach as the governemt assings different beaches to locals, control every where and just no freedom and lost of control and propaganda .

What a wonderful country, here we can see a people who in the face of adversity and embargo, improvise and persevere through it all, and because of the special period in the 90s, the Cuban people have actually done more than most western countries at building food security for the entire island. Without the USSR and industrial pesticides, they had to embrace organic urban agriculture to deliver sustenance. It's a model that came to be through necessity, and it works.

Love seeing how people vote with their money. Compare those 2 markets, the government one is suppose to be cheaper but the private market has more people and produce. And while Cuba is embracing trade and commerce, Venezuela, its supposed ideological progeny, is stifling businesses left and right.
