  • I decided to have a late fish supper of two smoked cod fillets, two slices of bread and butter and a cup of coffee on the beach. For a November evening, it was eerily calm.

Nothing wrong with a tin of sardines. Love the oily fish.

@@paulturnersmith1143 ahh lovely. I never get to have fish cos the smell of it repulses my missus. Thats why I have to sneak off to the beach at midnight to cook some.

Just subscribed to your channel. Stumbled across as I am a Trangia fan. Great to see that folks are still actively using. Thank you!

Thank you for the subscription Greg. My Trangia is an old DofE Trangia from the school I work in. So its had a hard working life but their's still a lot of life left in it. I love it.

Good video and your fish looked nice.p.s my mum used to cook the fish in milk if I remember correctly which was very nice.

cheers Jason. Yeah I seem to recall fish being cooked in milk, which made into a nice sauce. My mouths watering now.

New to your channel and what a great video. I think I’ll have to have a go at frying some nice fish on my trangia and preferably at a beach. Maybe something me and the wife can do this weekend. Never mind those others taking your regular spot as it looked like you enjoyed yourself none the less. Cheers for the inspiration!

Thank you for watching the video. There's nothing like having a nice cookout outdoors somewhere. Food always tastes better.

Cheers man. I’ve subbed you right back. You have some really useful info on your channel. I was beginning to think all women hate fish. Every woman I know can’t stand it.

Cheers mate. The USB lighter can light things on the windiest of days apparently. Although there was no wind at all on the beach. It was a very calm night for November.

I love the smell of a meths/alcohol stove and how quiet it is, perfect for stealth. It surprises me how costly those kits are for just aluminium pans. I'm still looking for a set for a decent price - under £35. I would have steamed the fish with new spuds and greens, but that's me.

New potatoes and some greens would’ve been perfect. But I just love mopping up the fishy juices from the pan with a slice of bread and butter.
I guess the reason they’re expensive is the manufacturing process. Being an ex metal spinner myself you have six pieces of spun metal, with beading on some and the kettle would be quite difficult to spin. You’d have to spin it in stages with a chuck that dismantles I would’ve thought. They last for years too.
