    I have been long time fan of Kraftwerk for 43 years since 1980. Numbers is my all the favourite.

      I'm a big fan of KW since 1979. And my all-time fave is "Die Roboter"

    Thank you so much Steve for this amazing interview .Back in 1978 when I resided Brooklyn. A friend of mine in,our neighborhood. He knew I was a music fan. He invited me over to his family residence to play me some new album he discovered. There was four white men in suits. He Place the cartridge on the vinyl. The sounds were incrementally building. Sounded like a train. The track was Trans Europe Express. It was amazing. He told me they were from Germany. It was an odd name“Kraftwerk“. It was my first connection to Germany. I was an instant supporter. It was the future to me. The next number I heard from that later that summer was Numbers. Also very innovative. I’m so happy Wolfgang Flür had his own mind. When I ended up working in Germany, I wanted to be a part of the German music scene. That happened for me. The journey to that fascination started with Kraftwerk. Many steps led to that realization, but that is another story. Anyway. Thanks for this interview. Amazing he is so open, he is together with a Turkish woman. That tellsmyoumamlotmabout who he is. The success was real.

      Thanks for the comment. I think we all remember that moment hearing Kraftwerk. For me it was a London club, and it opened up a new world as well. Wolfgang is such a good guy, eloquent and creative, and proves that you can get over your past to carve a new identity! Agree with everything you say!

    Wolfgang's not only a musician and and artist. He 's a man.
    He makes things. And music is one of the things he makes.
    He is also re-inventing himself as a singer.

    It's crazy I haven't got the latest album, I think Eloquence was great. I must say I don't understand why he doesn't like Electric Café, it's fantastic.

      I think he didn't like it because it took 5 years to create and it was remixed I think 4 times, in the mid-eightes they struggled with topping Computer World cause other bands at that time caught up to them technology wise. I also think that album Karl got a lot of his ideas rejected and most of that stuff we heard from him years later, Ralf's bike accident that landed him in a coma. Electric Cafe to Kraftwerk is what Presence is to Led Zeppelin, their greatest work with the horror stories to go with it.

      @@johnhenningfield4360 Well, musically it's still great and probably very much because it got remade several times. In my view they once again managed to reinvent their sound to something completely new in midst of a synth pop era, it got much more advanced rhythms compared to the other albums, yes samling had been around for a while at the time for sure. IMO it should never have been renamed Electric cafe and apparently they regret that too but as an album it's one of their best, if not the best. To say it's crap is a little strange.

      @@matsfrommusic "Wolfgang & Karl felt like it was just fine (Original Version of the Techno Pop Album), then Ralf & Florian's spider senses went off and they decided to stay a step ahead of everyone and that process took too much time, now I agree with you it's a fantastic album but Wolfgang & Karl felt it was ridiculous to spend 5 years to make 45 minutes of music, that's why he calls it crap"

    • @matsfrommusic
      @matsfrommusic 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@johnhenningfield4360 Not exactly sure what you’re trying to say here, by your logic Flur would actually like the album had the end result been ”just fine” but now since it's great he thinks it’s crap..? ;) Either way, I would love to hear the first version.

      @@popthehistorymakers Hello, then! I remember so clearly watching the "Little Child" interview on MTV News. I had no idea back then, that the other guy was Emil Schult lol. I remember they wrote some stuff on TV screens etc. as a part of their performance haha. The problem is I don't remember that song at all, I wonder if Wolfgang has it stored somewhere in his archives, wish I could listen to it again as I truly love his work, especially "Time Pie". Best wishes from Poland, Steve!
