@Tampa Detroit Lion Thanks! Even though the Lions weren't good in 1984, I am still surprised the game was blacked out since the Raiders were a draw and the defending Super Bowl champs.
It was blacked out for me too in Toledo. Also, I can't remember how many Thanksgiving games I missed because of blackouts. Always just the Dallas game.
1990, both teams squared up again on MNF in the Silverdome and it was Barry vs Bo … one of the greatest games I’ve ever seen to this day … what a showcase… Raiders4life
Both teams came into this game on polar opposite trajectories: In week 14, the Raiders had won a huge game at Miami against Dan Marino’s Dolphins while Detroit had been blown out at Seattle
I was there. 14 years old with my dad and older brother. seats in end zone lower bowl. I called Todd Christensen TD to my dad in 2nd qtr. 48 min 30 sec(the play was to my left). I remember walking through the parking lot after the game. December Silverdome parking lot and saw a guy on knees next to van get drop kicked in the face and my dad told my brother and I to just keep on walking because we stopped to watch. I will be there devils night Ford Field next week with my 85 year old dad.
The thing about the Silverdome I always remember is how dark it was outside of the field. I feel like stadiums today have a lot more lighting outside of the field.
The Lions had lost Billy Sims in October to a career-ending knee injury, and Monte Clark would get the ax at the end of the season, ushering in the Darryl Rogers era (ugh).
It took an even-worse season by the Vikings to keep the Lions out of last place in their division that season. The Darryl Rogers era was very forgettable.
I vividly remember this game from when I was a kid. Not for the matchup, but because they announced the Gary Carter to Mets trade during this broadcast. This was before the internet and ESPN, so this was like breaking news for the era. I remember grabbing my kid brother (Whos a Mets fan) and showing him the TV. th-cam.com/video/GbSCioFDnPA/w-d-xo.html
Dude you’re the freaking best man!! This game was blacked out when I was a kid and been trying to find it for years!! You seriously made my day bro!

Marcus Allen, Tim Brown and Andre Ware I believe all played that night. 5 Heismans

The Juice handled Dickerson’s record breaking season with complete class at halftime.
My Lions. Rebuilding since 1957.
@ Sir Talkalot Doolittle I think the Lions are on the cusp of making the playoffs. They finished last year strong.

Lol wow!! I've never seen this game, I had to listen to game on radio as a kid. I was 10 years old.
These uploads just defy logic at this point amazing..literally haven’t eyes on this game since the night it aired God Bless you brother🙏🏼

Bill Pickel was a monster
The Ford family should have moved this team to Baltimore back in these days!!!
Weird hearing Gary Danielson is the league's hottest QB...well second to only Steve Fuller
😆
In 1984. Which one of them threw for 48 touchdowns that year?
Hard to believe the Raiders were once a sports franchise synonymous with winning
Rare Monday Night Match-up
@Shane Trimble I believe the Raiders and Lions played again on MNF in 1990.
0:38 a CFL tshirt? 🤦🏾♂️

WHY did Marcus NOT have a 1,000 yd receiving season? Because his QB was Marc Wilson! 😫
Why do all these old games look slow motion?
