I Fed my fretboard with wood polish and it's now beautiful and fast...Had to sand the back of the neck to make it playable for me,smooth the frets,I put a stain on it to put some colour into it and the headstock...New black kluson tuners, black graphtec string tree, tone rider pickup in the bridge, black pick guard and graphtec nut, black control knobs a lot of work put into it and it's now one of the best guitars I own... Lake placid blue& black
Surf green is the color, and the monoprice Indio Retro classic is a pretty sweet deal at $109.and with 6 colors to choose from and always going on sale for $89. I like it more than the squire bullets.
Classic Vibe Squiers are amazing! I've had nothing but trouble with the modern Bullet Series instruments from Squier. I'm glad you were luckier than I was!
@@BigJakeMusic my question is is a new squier bullet straight out the box a better sounding guitar than the fender Buddy Holly plays on Peggy Sue??? Not craftsmanship-wise, but soundwise!!!! If my squire sounds better than Holly's, fuk the rest! Good enough for Holly, good enough 4 me!!! Please help me understand?! Ty!
The feeling of a guitar is over half the experience for the player, in my opinion. Out of the box I’ve had nothing but horrific experiences with new Squier Bullets. The pickups sound decent, but the sharp frets and horrible fingerboards make it feel like you’re fighting with it. You’re much better off with a used 09ish or earlier Squier, or something else entirely, like an IYV guitar from Amazon. Those are an amazing value!
@@BigJakeMusic bro, appreciate ur responding, but I'm asking w/ my Squire if I went back n a time machine 2 Buddy Holly & said hey,u can use this guitar from the future 2 play Ed Sullivan, would he pick up my Squire & say, oh my God this is a shit SOUNDING guitar compared 2 the 1 I play every night! Or would it SOUND as good or better?
It would almost definitely sound worse. Back then, guitars were handmade. Today, cheap guitars are made with machines with minimal quality control. He would probably not like it and would wonder why it felt so sharp and why it didn’t sound as nice.
I have a Squier Bullet in Sunburst its pickups shocked me as they do sound as good as my old Mex Standard Tele but i had to pay an extra £100 here in the UK to get it set up professionally as it was unplayable out of the box had dead frets , the neck was slightly warped , the pickup selector switch was faulty and the intonation was out so it took the poor Luthier 2 hours to get it to a good playable condition but for £120 guitar its still better than most others at that price point for example i have an Encore Les Paul Copy which ive had to hang on the wall as the Luthier could not even save that trash LOL
I did a video on this guitar, but the lake Placid blue color. Honestly, the Monoprice Indio Retro classic I did a review on also was to me a way better deal, and seemed like better quality also. I ended up returning the lake blue bullet, and got the red sparkle because it went on sale from $209 to $169. Still my Indo retro classic with the string through body still fely like a better tele, and was still $70 cheaper than the squire bullet.
Something about knowing it’s an official Fender product makes it slightly better in my brain. It’s objectively not a very good guitar, but I’m glad I have one. It frees me up to buy something like an Indio and not feel bad about it. I’ll check it out!
@@BigJakeMusic Yeah may be worth a try as the glue on the neck is very bad QC by Squier , they should definitely move production back to China next time.

Man, sorry to hear about yours, I had none of those issues with mine.
Got the same one couple years ago upgraded pickups 4way switch and tuners it’s a great playing guitar or at least mine is, it’s worth a look
Good morning Jake, I'm really kind of busy this morning, but I wanted to drop in and give you a thumbs up and wish you a very happy Easter 🐣!

I might pick one up! If I do a video on it I’ll definitely give you a shoutout if you’re ok with that.
@@BigJakeMusic for sure..it's a great buy.i think you'll be happy to add to your collection
Thanks for the suggestion!!
got one used and it's a good Tele, 0 issues with it, feels better than my long gone Classic Vibe with a pencil neck. maybe I lucked out.
Had no issues with my bullet tele Limited run Surf Green. It was amazing wish I kept it. The classic vibe 60s I have is insane awesome. Hahah

You make it sound good!
Also easy fix for the awful neck on this guitar , pay $80 bucks for a new neck lol thats what i was advised but instead went for a £100 set up
For sure, that definitely an option. I’ve considered that option for this guitar.
