Explanation: some Jews at the time of Prophet Muhammad (saw) used to curse him, they said Death be upon you which sounds very similar to peace be upon you in Arabic so he replied: ,,on you too” so if they wished peace, it’s back on them. Aisha, Muhammad (saw) wife responded to the Jews “No, but upon you be death and a curse”. The Prophet responded “God is kind, Aisha, and likes kindness in everything.” She asked if he had not heard what they said, and he replied that he had responded with “and upon you”. (Bukhari and Muslim) and upon you = Wa aleykum If they wished anything, it’s also back on them. Even tho he was advised to literally curse them back he didn’t want to do it so he just wished back what they wished and if you wish peace upon somebody you shouldn’t have a problem when somebody says ,,and on you too”

So the message is to ensure that anyone who curses you be cursed in the same manner by you? Should not you instead wish them peace in spite of any ill they wish upon you? In Christianity this notion is second nature. It exemplifies living out the unfailing love of God to everyone around you, including those that hate you. I’m curious. With Islam believing Jesus came to this world and his message was corrupted, do you contend that his words about loving your neighbor always and turning the other cheek when you are struck were made up? For whose benefit does that serve?
There is a reason behind this, not because he is not a Muslim, but because the Jewish used to say Al-saam alaikum (death be upon you) instead of saying Assalamu Alaikum (peace be upon you)...So Muslims at the time of the Prophet PBUH were not able to differentiate between those who honored them with the true Islamic greeting and those with bad intentions, so they would respond to them by saying: Wa Alaikum (And upon you).

No not the same. Verily, I am riding against the Jews tomorrow, so do not greet them with peace and if they greet you with peace, then say: And upon you. (Ibn Majah 3699; Authenticated by Albani)
@Nep.Victor The Jews used to greet the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by saying, “As-sam `Alaykum ya Muhammad (Death be upon you, O Muhammad),” praying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would die. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Jews say `As-sam `alaykum (death be upon you),’ so if they greet you, then say, `Wa `Alaykum (and also upon you).’” If a non-Muslim greets a Muslim by saying “As-samu `alaykum,” then we should respond by saying “wa `alaykum (and also upon you).” The fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said “wa `alaykum” indicates that if they were saying “As-salamu `alaykum (peace be upon you),” then peace will also be upon them, i.e., whatever they say to us, we say to them. Hence some of the scholars said that if a Jew, Christian or other non-Muslim clearly says “As-salamu `alaykum,” it is permissible for us to say “ `alaykum As-salam (upon you be peace).”

The reason Muslims say “walaykom” instead of saying “walaykom al-salam” is because Jews used to tell Muslims “Al-sum alaykom” which literally means “poison” and make it sound like al-Salam. so by only saying “walaykom” you are only returning what they said, if it was peace so be it and if it was poison then that’s their choice. Its not devisive or discriminatory. At the time of the prophet a group of jews used to say say "death be upon you" which sounded very similar to peace be upon you. In passing it was essy to be mistaken as a pleasent islamic greeting. When the muslims realised this, they brought the matter tonthe prophet and he told the muslims to respond to them with "and upon you" This way, if you greet us with peace, then peace be upon you also. And if you say death upon us, then we will say "and upon you also" Thats all. Allah says when you are greeted, greet them with one better, or return it. In this case its returning the greeting.
First of all, it’s important to clarify that the Jews used to say “As-Saam alaykum”, which means “may death be upon you. It’s precisely why the Muslims were told to respond with “Wa alaykum” meaning “and upon you”. The hadith that he talks about refers to that. If a Jew greets a Muslim with the correct greeting, the majority of scholars said that it’s obligatory to return the normal greeting. It’s interesting to watch how he tries to distort the hadith and this whole video either deliberately or because of being ignorant.

And we don't expect a zionist like this who hates Muslims and wants to eraze them from Palestine to think of him in a good way! It's obvious that he just said it intentionally to make the Muslim look bad when in reality that zionist has no peace in his heart for the Muslims. And he will never say it behind the cameras.

@Elliot Mason he doesn't have to. Everybody is free to practice their religion, if his religion stops it from saying that he is free to do that, he isn't hurting anyone else by not greeting them. Instead these folks are laughing at him, mocking him and calling him divisive.
“I have come with my cameraman because I genuinely want to wish you peace. I have no other motivation in doing so, there is nothing self-serving or hostile about this exchange.”
Jews used to tell Muslims, in Arabic, "Al-sum Alaykum" and they made it sound like "Assalamu Alaykum" so we wouldn't tell the difference "Al sum Alaykum" Means they're wishing death upon us, which is quite typical of them And in return they would get "Wa'alykumu s salam" back to them, meaning they would wish us death and get peace in return because of the word-distortion they did So instead, Muslims said "Wa'alaykum" which LITERALLY just means you as well or you too So it's on the Jews now, if you wish death upon us, you get death wished upon you too! If you wish us peace, may you have peace as well

The hadith comes from the fact that some jews in the time of the prophet peace be upon him would pass him and try to fool him by saying "essam alaykom" instead of "essalam alaykom" and it translates to death and malediction be upon you instead of peace, so Aïcha the wife of the prophet may Allah be pleased with her got angry and started bad mouthing them and the prophet stopped her and told her to just reply "wa alaykom" which translates to "and on you" so if they truly mean well they get their blessings back and if they mean bad they get their own curses back at them too 😁

It's about the fact that Muhammad wrote in the quran that a muslim can't greet jews (in addition to some much worse commandments he wrote to muslims to fulfill)
@@שיאלידוד-ס7י Muhammad (PBUH) did not write the Quran. God gave him verses of the Quran so that he would memorize them and tell them to the people. After 23 years of God telling Muhammad (PBUH) verses of the Quran and him and the people memorizing them, the Quran was made into a book for easy access. The ahadeeth (commands of the prophet PBUH) also came from what God revealed to him, but these were not put in a book. The ahadeeth kept traveling from mouth to mouth until modern times. That is why there are some ahadeeth which are unreliable. This is why we must use our brains and search reliable sources only to get *educated*. Also, the Muslims were commanded to say "wa alaikom" whenever a jew greeted them because jews wouldn't say "alaikom as-salam" (peace be with you), they'd say "alaikom as-sam" (poison/harm be with you). So, Muslims were instructed not to start the Salam greeting to a non-Muslim, but if non-Muslims did start it, Muslims should respond with "wa alaikom" (a shorter version of the Salam). (Bukhari and Muslim) and upon you = Wa aleykum
If they wished anything, it’s also back on them. Even tho he was advised to literally curse them back he didn’t want to do it so he just wished back what they wished and if you wish peace upon somebody you shouldn’t have a problem when somebody says ,,and on you too”

@Nep.Victor
The Jews used to greet the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by saying, “As-sam `Alaykum ya Muhammad (Death be upon you, O Muhammad),” praying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would die. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The Jews say `As-sam `alaykum (death be upon you),’ so if they greet you, then say, `Wa `Alaykum (and also upon you).’”
If a non-Muslim greets a Muslim by saying “As-samu `alaykum,” then we should respond by saying “wa `alaykum (and also upon you).”
The fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said “wa `alaykum” indicates that if they were saying “As-salamu `alaykum (peace be upon you),” then peace will also be upon them, i.e., whatever they say to us, we say to them. Hence some of the scholars said that if a Jew, Christian or other non-Muslim clearly says “As-salamu `alaykum,” it is permissible for us to say “ `alaykum As-salam (upon you be peace).”

In Islam you're not supposed to greet Jews and Christians with "Salam" it's a fact, you can look it up.
Do we respect Jews and treat them the same as any other human? Yes. Do we trust them? No.
Example of why: Israel.

It used to be common practices for the Jews to say “al-saam alaykum” to Muslims, which means “death be upon you” instead of peace, to which you would respond “alayk” which just means “you too.” Scholar Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy upon him) stated clearly that the majority of scholars hold that you must reciprocate the greeting to Jews and Christians if it is clearly stated and the correct, Shari way.

We live in the 21st century an these rules of discriminating where to ancient and one should simply understand that "greetings have no religion, face or colour" it's just expression of love and respect so it should be, be it Muslims, Jewish or Hindus. Period.🌻
As Salaam Alaakum. The Reason The Prophet pbuh Said Alaakum is because those Yahud were saying in Arabic death be upon you, and The Prophet pbuh, Replied Alaakum.
It appears to me that he is simply pointing out the absurdity of the response. The Muslim admits he will not wish peace directly to him because he is a Jew, but to a Muslim, he would.
Explanation: some Jews at the time of Prophet Muhammad (saw) used to curse him, they said poison (As-Saam) be upon you which sounds very similar to
peace (As-Salam) be upon you in Arabic so he replied: "on you too" so if they wished peace, it's back on them. Aisha, Muhammad (saw) wife responded
to the Jews "No, but upon you be poison and a curse". The Prophet responded "God is kind, Aisha, and likes kindness in everything." She asked if he had not heard what they said, and he replied that he had responded with "and upon you/wa alaykum". (Bukhari and Muslim).
It's really not complicated, it's just rather than arguing it'd be better to dismiss the teasing with a "and upon you too".

At the time of the prophet a group of jews used to say say "death be upon you" which sounded very similar to peace be upon you. In passing it was essy to be mistaken as a pleasent islamic greeting. When the muslims realised this, they brought the matter tonthe prophet and he told the muslims to respond to them with "and upon you"
This way, if you greet us with peace, then peace be upon you also. And if you say death upon us, then we will say "and upon you also"
Thats all.
If a Jew greets a Muslim with the correct greeting, the majority of scholars said that it’s obligatory to return the normal greeting. that zionist is a known liar in speakers corner, he gets exposed by Muslims in daily basis, he quoted a half hadith that states the Jws used to say "al sam" (death) alaykum to the prophet which means "wishing death to the prophet", and the prophet used to reply by w'aalaykum, so in case they play with words it will be on them too and if any jw says assalamu (peace) alaykum and you know he is good then you have to reply by the same thing just like you do with a Muslim and the prophet did when he found a Jw gathered with Muslims he greeted him with peace.
@@israfilangel8062 thank you for explaining that.

I myself do not like Islam, but mocking Muslims and laugh at them then call them divisive for their religions laws.. dude, you are a Jew, you have your own rules.
@Elliot Mason he doesn't have to. Everybody is free to practice their religion, if his religion stops it from saying that he is free to do that, he isn't hurting anyone else by not greeting them. Instead these folks are laughing at him, mocking him and calling him divisive.
@Elliot Mason and then they continued to record his video, laugh at him and ended by calling him divisive.
“I have come with my cameraman because I genuinely want to wish you peace. I have no other motivation in doing so, there is nothing self-serving or hostile about this exchange.”
Lmaoo
Jews used to tell Muslims, in Arabic, "Al-sum Alaykum" and they made it sound like "Assalamu Alaykum" so we wouldn't tell the difference
"Al sum Alaykum" Means they're wishing death upon us, which is quite typical of them
And in return they would get "Wa'alykumu s salam" back to them, meaning they would wish us death and get peace in return because of the word-distortion they did
So instead, Muslims said "Wa'alaykum" which LITERALLY just means you as well or you too
So it's on the Jews now, if you wish death upon us, you get death wished upon you too! If you wish us peace, may you have peace as well
"so you treat people differently according to their religion" Does it ring a bell, man?

The disbelievers used to mumble "assamu alaikum" (may death/poison be onto you) to trick the muslims into thinking they said "asslamu alaikum" (peace be upon you.)
They wanted to insult them in a sneaky way while having the Muslim unknowingly wish them peace. That's why the prophet used to answer them with only, "walaikum" (and upon you,) so that if they wished you death, you're wishing them the same thing, and if they wished you peace you're also wishing them the same thing, Aka peace.

So ignorant, the reason this tradition is because the jews were not willing to give salam to the muslims in the time of the prophet, they would say sama alaikum (death upon you) so prophet taught the muslims to say walaikum (and you) so ball is upto the jews if they want to give peace, muslims will give them the peace back, and if they want to curse, then muslims will give them the curse back, there is literally no inherent racism involved from the muslim side for this tradition, the jews can only blame their ancestors for being arrogant and not accepting the prophet of God whose coming was mentioned in the old testament, and the knowledge of which their ancestors knew, which is y they settled in yathrib (medina) in the first place
So accept my god or FU? You must suffer for what your ancestor said 1400 years ago? Makes perfect sense.

If the jew actually ment to send blessings to the Muslim, the jew wouldn't be recording this nor putting up a fight about this exchange. Because he did record and put up a fight, it shows that he wasn't sincere in his greetings. Therefore, he does not deserve to get the complete version of the greeting. Simple as that.
