  • The Aiways U5 is the new Chinese kid in town. It is a big car with a relatively small battery of only 63 kWh. So how far can it go with those 63 kWh? I spent an evening cruising on the highway to find out.

In summer I can go up to 300km in my e-golf, but under the conditions you just drove I would max get 185km. If it's somewhere similar it would mean that in summer the Aiways could probably achieve around 410km. Not bad.

iam considering getting a aiways u5, in my head i thougt i could get 250km of range and it seams like that is possible👍🏻 The road i use to go to work is 80km/h

I still have the problem of charging cables that don't come out when I want to finish a charge... does anyone know the solution other than removing the plastics? (which I haven't tried yet), is that the key I've already tried, but I hear the click, but it's still stuck...

Interesting test, I think the 4-5 % difference can be unlocked by Aiways if you got lost in nowhere or the charger doesn't work. I heard about charging problems in German forums, worked it well for you?

The only problem with charging I had was that sometimes after fast charging the charge port did not unlock... Had to use emergency release.

how did you get such high consumption, my car have 39 kwh battery and can make more, even in winter

Then your car is indeed very efficient. This is however a suv and would never be able to achieve that kind of efficiency.

@@StormKleist well i pass with my cars around 100.000 km, maybe i simply find best speed and type of driving, i am sure even with this car much better range can be achieved, just to get used to it
it's just a test where usually people test for 7 or 10 days, not even so
however aiways is really nice and good looking suv, i hope that quality is also on high level

Two essential corrections of your statement:
    1. 130 km/h is not supposed to be a high velocity. It is even more the ideal travelling speed (if traffic allows this speed), both for EV and ICE-vehicles.
    2. This car is significant lighter than similar sized SUVs (delta 250 - 350 kg). Therefore it should perform much better concerning range than its peers.

Yes but other SUV have significantly large battery.

    170km @ 130km/h is fucked up :-D
