This week I take a look at two more TMNT figures from Playmates Toys, released in 1988 and 1989!

To be honest I quite liked the Casey Jones action figure and used to play with him endlessly. As with all my other ancient goodies, Mr. Jones has vanished off of the face of the earth, although in his case it is just as plausible that one of my idiotic cousins stole him from me. Enjoy your week!
I also had "The battering vigilante sportsman!" Casey Jones and played with him all the time, even though he gave me an unrealistic expectation of how my abs would look like when I grew up and became a crazy masked vigilante myself... Oh well, still happy memories.
@@Uncle_GenX At least you were busting villain's heads and possibly winning the key to the city. If I was a vigilante or super hero I'd be using my status to get laid. It's a stereotypical thing, but god help me I can't break from tradition😏

Full english breakfast, killer TMNT figures AND stabby things of various sizes... A perfect Sunday combination! Great figures! I appreciated the heads up on things to look for if purchasing these figures in the future, very informative. Now to NOT go straight to eBay with my property tax money in fist...

Nice looking figures. I must admit that I wasn’t familiar with Playmates in the ‘80s, but I went all in on their Star Trek line in the 90s.
I think the only 90s figures I have are Star Wars POTF. Nothing else appealed to me during that decade. I was too busy going off the rails and discovering metal and girls lol 😆 😂
I've never had any Star Trek stuff which is probably just as well because I can't afford to start collecting another toyline. I'm struggling to not buy any Centurions at the moment...

Baxter Stockman having a fancy fly swatter as a weapon, is similar to how Bebop wears links of pork sausages round his neck. ;P
Thanks for the look at the TMNT figures. Was never into it myself, aside from the very playable multiplayer arcade game and the 1990 movie with groundbreaking animatronics.
Speaking of video games, it was the Spectrum game 'Samurai Warrior', which first introduced me to the character Usagi Yomjimbo. Little did i know that in 1988, he would feature in a big franchise a few years later.

Nice toys. I read a few Turtles comics back in the day but never really got into them. That first series was pretty expensive as back issues back then. I do like Stan Sakai's work (creator of Usagi Yojimbo). Met him at a convention or two back in the day. Really an impressive body of work. He also worked on the Groo comic as well as the letterer I believe. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.

Oh yeah. Be careful with Baxters wings I had to fix Nick APD's figure as that had both of them snapped off. Fixed with Lego of course.

Luckily I got a Baxter stockman really cheap on eBay and he’s complete.

Cheers Luke! I would like to find the accessories for Baxter at some point, but my main concern was getting one without broken wings and without heavy wear to the paint on his eyes. These TMNT figures really suffered with paint loss over the years.

Hi agitated hen! A few lovely figures from the great old classic TMHT ;-) line. I Never had that Baxter Stockman but it sure is another funky sculpted figure. I knew many of these characters took inspiration from other franchises (like the terminator turtle etc..) but never made the connection between Baxter Stockman and the Fly.. Man, that ’86 version of the film I found so scary as a child! Thanks for the video monkey, keep rolling Sir!

Cool haul Monkeyboy! I always wanted to get my hands on a Baxter action figure but the one and only time I seen one in one of my local shops I didn't have enough money to get him😔 I almost got one of my mates to trade me their Usagi but ultimately he was unwilling to part ways with it. Anyway, please enjoy your week my friend!👍🐒

I'm (sort of) collecting the modern Neca "animated" Turtles figures, although I don't actually have any of the Turtles themselves. I have April, Bebop, Rocksteady and... Metalhead. I know, it's an odd combination. ;P
The Neca turtles are pretty cool. Strange that you don't have those...
I take it that you haven't had the issue with the Neca plastic snapping? Or did you heat up the joints before posing?
He was often referred to as Usagi Yojimbo, which translates as "Rabbit Bodyguard". So, yes, not really the character's name, is it? Silly packaging. ;P
TMNT were never really my thing, so I don't know too much about them, though I did watch the cartoon. Those figures look in great condition and you managed to get a baggie of stabby things too 😂. Where did you find that breakfast (don't say the kitchen or down the cafe)?
Thanks for watching dude! TMNT represents the last vintage line in my collection because anything after that I don't really have any connection to. From there I jump over the 90s and early 00's and pick up again with more modern toys.
I made the mini-breakfast out of polymer clay (Fimo) several years ago.

It's not a *full* English without it... 😉
I would argue that black pudding is never acceptable, but many would disagree. I have tried it and did like the taste, but when I discovered its main ingredient I was put off for good.
