I love that you take your girls with you to Explore!! My mom and I used to do the same thing! I haven't explored in awhile, but would like to start again!!
"Where'd you go, meathead?" That killed me! Sounds like me talking to my kids! Seriously, you don't look old enough to be my age and have adult kids. You guys really rock! Live or edited videos, I always look forward to them!
New subscriber here, i really, really like your videos, while most exploration videos on TH-cam are urbex, urban exploration, you do something totally different, rural exploration and its awesome, and the father/daughter relationship is just the cherry on top, you guys rock ☺
Thank you for posting this! I was suffering from EWU withdrawals! This episode really struck a chord within me. I used to volunteer at a train museum when I was many years younger than now. I helped restore old diesel engines and steam locomotives. In this episode I saw at least two engines, and judging from the cylinder castings they were both 1960's era two stroke industrial power sources. VERY robust and worthy of rescuing and restoration. It is a shame that they are left to rust and rot. In their current condition they are not too far gone to restore either.
That was a cool old diesel engine with a belt drive system for an electric generator. Thanks for the video! Personally, I like these videos better than the live stream, since you focus on exploration and not the chit chat from the viewers. Keep up the good work!!!
Watching your videos made me very melancholy for trips with my daughters when we went to places. Your doing the best thing possible to secure awesome memories and smiles late in life. Carpe Diem!
Emma and Bob i truly enjoy when family get together and have fun. I'm going back to find ALL of your videos.please keep them coming. thanks Emma and Bob.
Been watching all your vids when taking study breaks the past few days so I’m commenting a lot haha, but you guys seem so happy in this one! You guys have the cutest bond, me and my father would love to do this stuff but we have already gone to all the places that aren’t now private land ( I think it works differently down here in Australia ) but whenever we find a place we have the best time bonding. Parents like you seriously rock!
That's was an awesome explore., that old store was definitely cool (it's a shame there was nothing left on the sign) and the old stone building with no roof and the holes in the side I can definitely picture a couple of outlaws in there cooking over a campfire with their horses in there with them and guns close by (Old West ghost towns rock).
You guys should check out Frisco, utah. It’s located in Beaver County. There is a full cemetery, houses, and beehive kilns. Its about 15 minutes from Milford, Utah. They averaged about 12 murders a day back when all the mining was going on.
I love the idea of you trolling other explorers by using the megaphone pretending to be the police. This channel is great, love the dynamic between you and Emma.
we have big vats like that at the coal mine ours is for washing coal for the prep plant id say thats used for same only for whatever they was mining there. And some of those big machines you seen we use for preping the coal for size and quality.
I love the landscape where you are. Probably just because it's different. But I love the desert and the isolation and the creepiness of it. Good stuff guys! ❤❤
The "store" building looks like a classic general store type structure that is found in almost any small town. You are right that it's too bad that the name is no longer on the front of it. It would be cool to find out if the place ever had a post office. If it did, it's possible that a small post office might have been in the corner of a general store, another common thing in some small towns. The back part might have been storage or it could have been a small residence for the owner.
Great video! Emma, skirts? Ok, the upper floor had a shaker it would get ore to size by grates. The yellow tube was for spinning the ore with large steel balls, known as a ball crusher. Then it would be small enough to go through the Mercury bath where the ore was pulled out. The large table with the hood is for extracting the Mercury from the ore. And the vats had floating wooden lids to keep people and rodents from falling in. Plus the lid added pressure to help the water along. And yes the two large machines are steam engine's for running the mill.
The "old school" heater you saw in the 2nd building is called a radiator (or radiant heat). They heated the room through radiant heat from the metal provided by steam in the core. My Great-grandfather had those in his house when I was very young but, trust me, if air bubbles got into the system...nobody got any sleep. lmao. Just a fun fact for ya. 🙂
I grew up on dry land wheat farms east of Cheyenne Wyoming. Always loved ranches with lots of sage brush. Watching this I can smell it. Went in military for 8 years. Long story short I worked all over Wyoming Colorado Nebraska and Montana. All kinds of abandoned homesteads that was beautiful
If you’re still in Utah or when you wind up there again, get a Utah truffle. Most gas stations and grocers will carry them. That chocolate does not disappoint!
You guys should explore Old Hamilton Village on the Yukon River in Alaska. It use to be the old village before everyone ran and made Kotlik on the Yukon. As a child I camped there with family while hunting and it is a bit mysterious. Old cabins still are there and used only for hunting expeditions now. There are many tails as to why it was abandonded and they made Kotlick their new village. Its very interesting. Go there, you will not be disappointed.
That mill is a grain elevator, it's used for beans, corn, grain, feed, ect.. the equipment is used to move, sift, dry, and other functions for processing those large tanks are grain bins used to store the product and the "lab" is the testing to monitor any abnormality in the product such as insects or deficits or malnutrition.
Awesome video guys! Cool places and I love how much fun you guys were having and being yourselves! Very fun to watch. Bob you cracked me up with the megaphone lol. And Emma you looked fabulous in your exploring clothes! 😄 Also the taste test was fun, even had nice background music going with it lol. Very nice job guys! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Bees are nuts! I tried to get one away from my son(6 y/o) who was scared & crying. I got one bee away from him and before I knew it I was being chased by 3, seem to come out of no where. Finally got into my car without them following me. It was a pretty intense moment id say.
At about 18 minutes into the video, you were exploring the store. Outside the back of the store, there was all the rock .work. There is a ghost town in eastern Utah, Sego, that has an old store that has some very similar features. If you are ever in the Green River area, it is worth the time to check out. There are several old Indian rock art in the area also.
Love it, awesome video. Glad you guys are back at it with the videos! I was never able to watch Live, but I'm able to watch every one of the short explores!
That was the skin of the Chicken-Lizard Man of Taos. He molts both his feathers and his skin simultaneously. He is naked meat right now and thus at his most dangerous. I heart Emma
@23:50 I think that's a big ball mill maybe? I know the smaller yellow one you looked at earlier was a ball mill for sure. Those big engines were awesome too. Always amazes me how much stuff gets left behind after a mine shuts down. Looks like the mine ran for a long time. The equipment looks like it's a mix of stuff from different eras, as does some of the construction of the building. That or they just tried to make do with what they had on hand. Seems like it was a pretty big operation too. Super cool place though, thanks for sharing. Great video!
WTH?! I leave for work and you're already exploring my house??!! At least my guard bees did their job. This was an awesome video, and I appreciated more Bob commentary, but it needed more Emma commentary. Great job on this video. PS. stay off my lawn
That equipment leaning over at 21:40 Looks like a bucket elevator used to carry product from a low level to a higher one. The thing that looks like a ladder gone crazy is a cable tray. The electric power cables are fastened to them and they are run throughout the building carrying the cables from their source to the equipment. Good video.
Not the Government, but Bigalow through a shell company, It is privately owned and no trespassing, though rumor is they may open it to paid tours. (That is just a rumor as of now.)
Good Morning Bob & Emma. What a cool explore. Be safe. At 18:21, cool, old building. It looks like it was a small general store at one time. Interesting old building, with all the equipment and piping, motors.

The wooden floors in the tanks...which probably are water-tanks,..is actually the “lids” on the tanks. When the tanks were filled up the “lid” would flow and protect the content.
Was great to see the new vid!! Took me over an hour scanning Google Earth to find the place!! I've been scoping areas up north out of Reno. If Y'all want the coords to them just let me know. LOVED the series you did out of Ludlow, I go down there a couple times a year to go agate mining in the area. GREAT seeing places I know and love. Keep up the great work!!
I think I know where this location is, I live about 60+ miles south of Modena, passed through there a few times, if I explore this ghost town I will not reveal it's location on my channel. Great job on the exploration guys.
the monkey bars you were commenting on is called "Cable Tray" for running electrical cables medium to high voltage same type of tray was also used for low voltage control cabling in the mining process. Site is more likely a 1960 - 70 mine
We Do Explore With y'all, Love how ya hit Where ever Feel need be. Really enjoy yr Adept Videos. Time Givin as Well Love ya both All the way From Chicago...
I have interest in some goldmines and we have a mill that separated gold from rock. The found rock was put in a tank exactly like the one in your video. The tank was full of cyanide which separated out gold from ore.
Thank you. Love your videos. Love watching old abandoned places and seeing how much you love exploring. The yellow drum is a dryer. Most mines use it to dry silica glass sand. An engine would be at the end heating and melting the sand. Dont know if they use dryers for any other products so think it was a sand, glass, and mineral mine. Whoever built that had experience and was a professional. How exciting to see it. Would love to know how old the mine is and the story behind it?
This all burned last July (2020). We have 30 acres right off of Stateline road. You guys drove right past it in this video. In July a fire that started in Nevada burned across the border and burned almost all of what you guys filmed. The little cabin with the screen on the front was not burned but the mine and everything else did. We lost all the trees on 27 of our 30 acres.
I get concerned and worried sometimes when you two go into some of these places, you never can tell if someone is watching you and may challenge what you guys are doing. I would take at something to protect yourselves, being a security professional and executive protection specialist myself, i would take extreme caution at all times. Lots of crazy people and lunatics out there in the world. Love your videos and what you two do...outstanding, please becareful....
There are trommels screw conveyors I think that was a hard rock gold mine for crushing Rock and ore and moving it to the different areas to process that's what that plant is

You Guys are bloody awesome,..REALLY one of the best TH-cam channels ever....!
You both are so freakin awesome. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to more excellent videos from EWU!
The way that store front is designed at 17:25 reminds me of Woolworths Department store which I believe went out of business in the early to mid 80's.
After watching allot of your videos if I ever build somewhere remote I am using thick break resistant glass.
There are trommels screw conveyors I think that was a hard rock gold mine for crushing Rock and ore and moving it to the different areas to process that's what that plant is
It's not raining until the dots are connected.
I love your videos so much!! I have tried for soooo long to find a good TH-cam that makes quality creepy videos. Definitely a new subscriber!

What an explore! First a ghost town and then an old mine. Loved it!
Looks like a yellow tumbler and augers. Maybe for washing rocks for gold or other minerals? That factory was really cool 😎
