Grew up in this mall, I remember seeing star wars, the ice skating ring.. I also worked security there between 1993-1998. Under Pen Brook Management. Love you vlog.

This was great! How about another Mall also in OC that I frequently visited as a child and my early adult years - The Laguna Hills Mall. They had everything. Bookstore, (think it was B. Dalton or Walden), Sam Goody, Suncoast Video and the movie theater (where I saw the likes of "Back to the Future" and "Arachnophobia").

I used to work at Glen Ivy at the Brea Mall back in 2012- 2013. I believe now it’s called Spa at the Glen. But I enjoyed working there, it’s a really nice mall.

I forgot all about Hot Dog on a Stick. And remember when every single mall had that pretzel place that sold those big giant Pretzels that you could get dunked in cheese and stuff? I was never able to pass the place without getting one because the smell was so great.

My late uncle lived in Fullerton so he wasn't too far from the mall, I didn't explore too much of the mall, but I can well imagine how huge it was

It is still pretty big. I haven't been there for years but it was my hangout place in the 80s and 90s.

That mall was where i got my first toy train I don't know where it is now but this freeway took me to boomers during the time that mall was so developed until now i really think if they kept the original dept stores and retails I'm sure that mall would've made good business another reason is the brea public library which should've been built with brea civic center i really wished the mall was bigger not to mention it contained Broadway, May co , Nordstrom which was during the expansion plan during the late 80s along was JCPenney, UA Theater and sears i still remember when sears was so popular i really think malls should have there own online website so shoppers can order and visit for a bit. The food court indeed used to have a skating rink most malls were entertaining back then unlike today they've fallen not to mention the parking lot screw the sight if they could've built underground parking the land ontop could contain more stores built into the street facade and a few more anchors if so.

The last store I remember from the 80s recently closed. It was The Naturalizer at the foot of one of the escalators. I would go to this mall all the time in the late 70s & early 80s. Saw lots of movies at the theater. There used to be an arcade directly across from it. I even worked in the mall in the early/mid 80s at CVS, Spencers (back when the raunchy merchandise was at the back of the store and not the whole store), and at a small bakery at the edge of the food court across from CVS. In the early 80s, Brea high school was directly across the street and kids were always coming into CVS to try and buy cigarettes.

I grew up in Fullerton so in the 80's I would love to go to the Brea mall. I liked seeing the Ice skating while eating with my parents. I remember for some reason the prehistoric Transformer bug toys the first time at the Brea mall and was infatuated with them at that time. My Dad would also like going to the South Coast Plaza all the time as well great fond memories. I'm going to send my Dad a screen shot of the ice skating rink and ask him if he remembers this? Keep up the good work👍
