- In this video, I do a catch & cook with yellow bass. I was white bass fishing, and caught a few yellow bass, I have been told to try them by many people. Are they any good? 🤔Down here in the Houston area most people perfer yellow over white. Me personally the yellow taste just as good as crappie when you grill both😋

Yeah crappie, walleye and yellow perch are kings for the table. But I'd rate yellow bass every bit as good as gills and sunfish. They're even better out of cold water, up north it's popular to catch, keep and eat after ice fishing. They're abundant in places here. Great fighters for their size

I eat yellow bass quite often & find them quite tasteful - try using Louisiana fish fry mix in the blue bag from Walmart.

How does the taste of yellow bass compare to the taste of sand bass?
Thats a great question! I would rather eat yellow bass at this point. You must take the bloodline out of the white bass for it to taste any good! Yellow bass has a small bloodline, but didnt seem to affect the taste of the meat! Thanks for watching! God Bless!
What does the milk do when you soak them?
Well I soak them in milk typically over night when I can and eat them the next day. The milk brings out the fishy taste etc. but I also use it as my binder for the cornmeal to stick too. Thanks for watching! God bless
