Alrighty, cruising right along here. Trying to catch up to your tubbing mod! Quick Sunday question...I need to get the driveshaft measurement and I just wanted to verify that all you did was install the bellhousing, bolt up the TKX with the crossmember, check my driveline angles, and then I can measure. Right? 😊

Correct! no clutch to make install easy.

@@FastMonty Thank you sir. I just realized they did not supply me with any template for cutting the tunnel. So now I need to decide whether to eyeball a cut or wait. Dang.

@@designsinorbit Ahhh, another hurdle to add to the list. I'm sure you can eyeball it just fine. Have fun!

@@FastMonty It does seem like it would be easy to eyeball. My concern is, will the shifter be located in the most comfortable position possible...too many options!

@@designsinorbit ha! Yeah, so many options... I know you'll figure it out. Keep us posted.

    Thank you for these videos.
I just started the swap in my '70 Charger. I am thinking of mocking up the bell and trans to measure for the drive shaft, making the order, then stepping back to do the hydraulics, the pedals, the tunnel mods, carpet and seats while the drive shaft is being made. It makes sense to order early this way..... so there is no 2 week down time waiting for the shaft while everything else is finished.

Good point Gregory... I did it the same way, mocked it up, without the gear shift, and clutch installed. Measured it, ordered it, then started on the tunnel mods. (When you're mocking up, for tunnel mods, make sure you put your long tube headers back on, as well as the stick shift) Have fun!

Thanks for this awesome video.. Just measured mine 59 5/8 type 1310.. If I ever blow up my 10 bolt and get a ford 9 inch then it'll be another new drive shaft..

Awesome, Richard! I'm ordering my 9 inch next week... so, stay tuned for that install. After talking with Currie, I don't think I'll be needing a new drive shaft. We shall see! Enjoy that new Tremec!

Hey Mike, looking at doing the transmission upgrade on my one owner midnight green 69 GTO as well. Any reason you didn't go with the tremec TKX instead? Just trying to figure it all out. Thanks.

Wow, welcome to the channel... not too many of us single owners left in the world. (Let alone 69 midnight green brothers) Yeah, it's simple, the TKX didn't exist until last month. Otherwise, the installation is identical. Hope that helps.

If you have the Global West Suspension on your car like I do I can tell you pinion angles are going to be way off. You should have used a digital protractor. And then you're going to find out that you need to put the tranny much higher in the tunnel

Ha! yeah, I can't remember what video I mention that, but unfortunately it's a problem I have to tackle later. That said, the new TKX helped, as I could raise that higher in the tunnel than the TKO. Thanks!

Ha! Yeah, I'm a Mechanical Engineer, and I can never remember the name of parts, or I say the wrong part name, or my favorite term "doo-Hicky", or "thinga ma jig". Hope it was useful. Thanks for the comment!
