We did get 11" (which is a lot for one storm) in 2019 I believe, but it was actually still autumn and only lasted a couple days. 2 years ago I was in my tree stand on Christmas day in shorts and short sleeve T.
If Donald Trump and Project 2025 and in the White House, NOAA is one of the agencies they are going to discontinue. That would be a shame we all depend on it

Weather is still a big part of “guessing” and empirical data from historical events. That’s why they speak in averages. The fact that we can even predict the weather as early as we can, even if it’s sometimes wrong, is an absolutely incredible feat in engineering and science.
