That's awesome Jen clean fresh and tasty water good for you guys. i like how you turn on and off the water going to be great in the winter. have a great week
Having water at the cabin is a luxury especially without power. Congrats! I have basically the same setup at my camp except that the pressure tank is underground below the frost line so you don't have to winterize and can still use it in the winter. It's self draining also. I also shock my well in the spring every year. Iron bacteria does result in certain areas like mine and can build up without use.
Having a supply of potable water will make life at the cabin so much more convenient. Long cool showers on hot summer afternoons will be so nice - and to water plants in the next drought.
Hey Jen- Well researched on knowing about your watering well and information to anaylise the safety before drinking ,Yes great development in nature - We wait for your results , Is the shower cold until temperature can be added at a later date? ,Well done on all your efforts 🙏❤ A bet you are so pleased despite some costs in drilling / equipment etc Indeed, a milestone after your Quebec travels 🚙
Yes, I hope to consider on demand propane heated water. That is for another time. Yes, big investment, but I was thrilled with the results. This is a game changer.
Goes with the territory with water systems. If you are not present the system should be drained in the cooler seasons. Without fail! Jack Frost likes ice😅 Best to you with your system.
That’s exciting Jen. You will love having that fresh water available. I remember when we built and put a well in, it was hard to get the water to pass for quite some time and I had to pull some tricks. Thanks for sharing the videos, your cabin is looking great. ✌️
And well water tastes so great. Thanks for the hibiscus tip. I did not know that. I’m going to go to rummage around in the back of my kitchen cupboards to see if I can find some.
Hello. Please know the mushroom you identified as the Red-Belted polypore is incorrect. This mushroom is actually the Resinous Polypore ( Ischnoderma resinosum)
Jen congratulations on the well.👍👍🍁
Many thanks!

So glad your well installation was successful, Jen! Looks great, and I bet the water TASTES great, too! ❤❤❤❤❤
Once the potability results come back I can't wait to try it.
That’s excellent! Sure does upgrade the comfort level and the ability to stay for longer periods of time. Congrats!
Yes, that's the plan for sure!
Oh what a great milestone! Clean Water access will make all the difference! Congrats!
Such a big difference. It seems like nice clean water too

Yes, some years it can be so dry and my garden fails. Thanks for watching.
@TheWildYam I watch every episode (even if I don't comment on each one.)

Thaks! Yes, I have the air compressor now to clear out the system. One tap will be usable all winter.

Glad the well worked out for you in the end. Does it still test well?
@@TheWildYam Eventually it did test ok on its own.
Clean running water is definitely a huge improvement for the cabin. You’re such a techy-tech smart girl boss 👍🏻
Awe thanks!!
Awesome!! May your showers, once heated, 😂 never end!👍😎🇨🇦💧🌨🛁💦
Lol! That's the next step . Or maybe I will master the Wim Hof method . Haha
And well water tastes so great. Thanks for the hibiscus tip. I did not know that. I’m going to go to rummage around in the back of my kitchen cupboards to see if I can find some.
Yeah, I was going to try red clover from the field but then I realized I had the tea. Easier than foraging in the pitch dark! Thanks for watching.
Congrats on the well . Its a game changer .
Totally! Looking forward to a taste test once the results are back!
@@TheWildYam The compressor is great too. Have a new in the box framing nailer by mastercraft.Just need to get it to you.
Hey, congrats on the new well! Save that granite dust to supplement your veggie garden with minerals?
Interesting idea!
Congrats on getting a well and having water. Let us know the results of the water tests.
For sure. Should be back later this week. Thanks for watching
congrats
Thanks!
Interesting & informative; thank you. Is the water at the wash house "just" cold, Jen?
Yes, for now. Future plans to heat the water are in the works.

Thanks for catching that Colleen! I mis-spoke. Removed the clip from the video to avoid confusion. Happy foraging!
Nice! A lot of winter prep still needs done tho.
Yes, we have a fall of work cut out for us.
