you gotta adjust the DB's pre-play in APF and 2k5, if you stay in vanilla coverage every play they won't be in position to make plays.

Yo dion don’t move the analog stick when you hike the ball. You gotta let the drop back animation play out first. It’s the same thing for designed rollouts too. You gotta let the animation play out for a sec then you run. It makes the game way more fluid trust me. Also if you use the stick before u do a spin or juke you will do a custom player specific move. And if you hold X to charge up the momentum the move will better

Bro the quarterback invade wherever you getting sacked at like if you sack of you on the right you got to click the right thumbstick into him or away from him that's how you do that's how you break tackles when you're a quarterback and The intercept button on Playstation I think it's I want to say it's r2 on Xbox is the black button and it's I trigger on Xbox and you can do combo special moves when you're running a ball if you spend hit truck and hit juke it does it all at once

Start using the right stick for custom jukes.. right stick is also the QB avoid.. right stick is also how you hot route you can only do 1 hot route per play
IMO James Lofton is the best character in the game. Lofton = Randy Moss of the game. He’ll make any QB with a good arm look like a god if you dial up bombs all day (I like making teams with Brodie as QB and two bronze receivers along with Lofton and the rest of the picks on defense). On his CPU team with Montana he’s almost unstoppable - even if you call Cover 4 to stop the deep pass he’ll sometimes still beat you deep (or the mofo will snag a jump ball in double coverage) and he’ll also cook you with crossing routes over the middle. I find him even harder to stop than Rice on the Legends - Cover 4 will at least work against Rice if you have a good corner.
