@@averagemonke4428 this is extremely true, especially when you have plumbers out in LA making a doctor's salary because it's a job people see as worthless so there's a huge lack of plumbers.
Major in something useful, meet with your advisor and they will set you on the right path. Also do your own research on the job market and the predicted growth of industries and jobs that interest you. You should also start saving money to invest in a IRA (Individual retirement account) asap. The sooner the better, look up the tale of two brothers investing chart. Above all else try and have some fun now because once college is over you enter the "adult" world and things can get pretty boring. Best of luck to you.
To be fair, if you're going to college for a stem field college isn't a scam at all. It really depends on what you're going to college for.

The full tuition for an online course IS SO INFURIATING. The reasoning I was given by my college was that I signed up for a degree that is available on-campus, and did not sign up for the online variant DESPITE BEING FORCED TO TAKE IT ONLINE. There are students who are paying 2/3 less than me for the same class.
