- this video is to show a new tool i made for holding the TP port for the 1377 and soon to be modded for the 2240 tps as well , and how i go about drilling these ports out for power speed mods for the 13xx and 22xx crosman pellet guns
airgunmodsbykan...
do you have your R-PAL cause your going to have to register that gun after all thoes mods, you can just drill the trasfer port out to 3MM and still be under 500 fps, the gun stock only shoots 415 to 435 with 7.9 grain pellets , the speed ratings are only UPTO ratings so the lighter the pellet the faster but you lose energy distance and accuracy with lighter pellets. in canada we have to wach our A**'s on the speed thing expecialy on pistols keep it under 500 fps to keep out of trouble
the hammer spring in the 1322 and 1377 is already the best just add in the power adjuster to add more power to the hamer, but you do need to put in a lighter valve return spring.
I just made a transfer port seal out of delrin, the inner diameter is matched to the valve and barrel ports. Seals great, but I don't have any way of knowing if it helped power.
time to buy a chronograph
+Kevys Rc & Music yup! Check out my videos and you'll see my crazy goofy 1377ish project.
:)
you will raise the FPs more towards 500 fps yes the trick when plugging the hole for best results is to make sure you come as close to flush with the exauste port hole in the valve i will do a video to explain this better so you know what iam talk ing about, your other option is to drill the restriced transfer port out
What size would I drill out rhe valve on a 1322 american model for max power
i have a stock 1377. canadian version. 495fps. i would like more fps.
can i just drill out the trasfer port?
or whats my best option here?
im going to put in a longer barell and a flat top pistol and valve.but thats later.
did i read right that you put in a stiffer spring into the Valve???this would decerease power not increase, and i never heard of a W ported valve are you sure your getting the terms right here just asking man sounds a bit odd to me ..
What do you think about the max flow port, .161 size over stock? What kind of gains if any will that give the 1322. 18" barrel, ext probe and 14.3 gr pellet?
Thanks for any info.
the speed varies gun to gun some need vert little others need more even in the same model
Couple of questions from USA,... Does the 1377 & 1322 have the same Transfer Port ?
Does this porting give you more FPS or more Muzzle Energy ?
What if you drilled only half way through so you get greater air discharge at the opening of the port to give more thrust when it narrows through the port ?
Thanks :)
the new model 1377 and 1322 have the same TP in the USA drilling the ports all the way thru to 3.9 MM increases FPS which does increase FPE more speed is always more FPE drilling part way thru will not really do much other then waste time..
Kevys Rc & Music Thanks :)
your welcome
how much fps you think drilling the tp will add?, so far I have the the flat top piston mod and stiffer hammer spring.
on a stock gun its adds 20 to 30 fps
awesome, thanks for the quick response
wolfcalibur no problem
for a simple mod, staying under 500fps, would it be safe to bore out the transfer port with everything else stock, or would you need a couple more things to be done with that?
this is on a Canadian version 1322 .22 cal, only have a 14.5" barrel with muzzle brake, and steel breach. also have the extended bolt probe on order. just looking for a few more fps.
thanks to any suggestions
youll need to bore out the port yes and it will still keep it under 500 fps and depending on the bolt prob you order it can then put it over 500 or keep it even more under 500 so then you defeat your self its a touchy thing doing the mods
Kevys Rc & Music thanks for the quick reply. Ya it is finicky just like throwing a cam in a car, haha but ya I do plan to get a crony in the next month or so, figured it be best if always tinkering. I didnt know there were different probes? just hollow or extended. hum.....
guess ill have to see what that does. im after accuracy more then anything and smooyh operation, which i have polished everything i could and some, also shimmed to align everything, very nice now. custom barrel band, and tightened up the pump arm piviot point. all the usual upgrades. very fun "toy" haha
Kevys Rc & Music also have a video uploaded on.my channel, of what has been done.
cool ill check it out
Kevys Rc & Music hum ok, that i might have to send out to get done.
Bwahaha! there is always one trying to rain on your parade. Thanks for the video. I am trying to mod my 1377 I've had for many years. I wondered about increasing the size of the hole in the transfer port to increase the air flow. Seems like it "should" work. As I have a lathe, I may make some transfer ports from brass, and make several sizes and see which one flows best. Wondering about chamfering (countersinking) both sides to see what a venturi effect has.
give it a go and see what happens, you can also lighten up the valve spring in the valve as well it will also help with some extra power
Share your results
you dont if you want more power out of the valve you remove 3 threads and lighten up the valve stem spring just a bit and add on a power adjuster so you can alter the timming of the valve untill you get the magic dial in for the max power just keep in mind when you start making more valve space by removing the 3 threads you will have to pump up the gun alot for each shot
if your gun right now is a stock configuration from the factory as a PAL version your gun is running about 504 with a 7.9 grain pellet you might be a bit faster and yes the transfer port will make a difference to make it shot faster i also make a moded probe as well in .177 cal and many other parts that will also provied even more power for you, as for selling you mod parts ill sell you what ever you want that i build ,its not my responsibility what you do with the parts so ya no problem
What lathe is it?
Never ever put a cloth against a rotating lathe chuck, you were lucky you didn't loose your hand, Safety First
+David Green stupid people get hurt , me i know what iam doing so there is a huge difference also it was not a cloth is was paper tower that was bunched up. there for no risk of harm..have a nice day
oh you are so right, the A & E department is just brimming with, DIY experts
+David Green :)
I have a 1377 from the 80's, need a valve now. Not drawing in any air. It might be about 600fps when I got it. Its knocked the crap out of pigions on my roof.
best guy for parts is alan at abairguns in the US
Thanks I'll check it out
joe souza no problem your welcome
No My bad The spring I put in Was a stiffer hammer spring....to dump all the air with more pumps ....sorry bout that ...
yes we do take EMT's no problem there
Ok I just put a stronger spring in for the valve to be able to pump up the gun more and be able to release all the air now Im Bout to put in my flattened an w ported valve along with flat ajustable piston plus a power ajuster ....
sorry 3.5 mm you can push it to 3.9 to 3.95 mm
nope its just how the do the model number
your welcome
yup email me at kmillard10@hotmail.com and will go from there
10:40 I showed this to my shop teacher and he had a heart attack and died!
Thank You
Hay what's up with the Canadian thing??? If we had that crappy law in the USA every one would go out of there way to do 600+, is a government office of pellet gun enforcement going to put you in jail if you go over 500FPS??? I don't get it.
you do have some states that have banned airguns and your speed laws for airguns are in the works of getting nailed to so enjoy while you can, and yes they will put you in jail in this country fo breaking the airgun speed laws and illegal power mods.
***** a pistol that you mod with a longer barrel is still pistol , the tube numbers on the air guns deside if its a pistol or a rifle reguardless of barrel length same goes for real guns.
busy bee craftex 10x18
This is all well and good but if you want more velocity just pump it more times coz with this you still have only the same amount of air. So this is really not necessary dude
just shows how little you know and understand airguns have a greatday
stupid laws, should never be obeyed
I agree but some of us do obey
maybe your shop teacher needs to learn how to use a lathe then.. shop teachers for the most part are not any where as experienced as us regular machinists are. i know i have meet several teachers that are so called machinists when in fact they are not. they barely know the basics, and there are a few that actually are qualified to have the title of machinist, let me tell you the paper certificate. means nothing your time in and experience and quality of work gives you the right to the title.
