I love the simple but still detailed builds of the classic sets, I now have a small collection of the small sets that came out in beginning of the 70's. I did consider getting a few blue-area train sets but... Well it might happen! 😂 You should definitely build the Train shed, it's a fun and good looking build and it's very well designed.
@@pastajensen That is good to know! Good for you. I did build it and I love the set! I need to get more of the blue train sets as well. I don’t have many of them at all
I wish Lego would come out with another small engine like that or the anniversary edition released with a boxcar for power functions. Way better then Thomas or any other IP. Give city a steam locomotive back.
Try removing one of the worst stickers. I have found that a hair dryer will loosen the glue. If that works you can save them and then stick them back on in the right place. Not 100% guaranteed but I think it is worth a try.
Looks great!! Neat set to review and am looking forward to reviews of these older set! Thanks! I am currently building a copy of Set 149 which is a train Shell oil depot or transfer station. I think for the locomotive with the wrong decals, maybe rebuild it with new parts and keep the sticker covered separately and see if a replacement stick set exists for the rebuild. Hard call.
Id replace the stickers with reprints if someone has them . I found a company that was able to get me stickers for MASK from the 80sz which is before your time. Spot on replicas. The stickers being on wrong isn't going to help the value and it's going to tear at you.
you see, this is the thing i dislike now about lego, you buy modern sets and some of the bricks are so custom to that set, there's not really much else you can build with it, the Old SKool sets, the bricks are more versitile, and there's much more you can build with that group of bricks, for example, on those lego racer car sets, what else can you use the can wings for other than a car wing for that exact car pretty much
@@bleedinghandshughes I see your point and I agree that in the past there were fewer parts but they worked for a lot more. There are many custom parts now that can only be used for so much
Remove stickers with hair dryer or steam. Stickers from that era or more robust. Sometimes I can even get them to stick again without extra adhesive
@@BrickTsar thank you! What type of adhesive do you use to re apply them if needed?
this is a gem
Keep the stickers on :)
Great set, great box and instructions.

@@nordisk1874 Im waiting to see if we ever get a steam locomotive again for a city type set. It would be cool.

@@BrickTrains Thank you very much! I will try this and see how it goes. It’s tough with old sets. I don’t want to ruin anything haha

@@ecidaho oh I like that idea! Thank you. I don’t have that set but it is on my list. Happy building!
You should build your train shed ASAP. I built mine a few weeks ago and it was a blast
@@gamernerd1331 I finally built it and I love it!!!
