@@OverkillWoodcraft thanks man. I’ve been thinking along the same idea as you, but it once cry once. No point buying the cheap stuff just to buy it again. I’m going to buy a nice track saw before I get a table saw. It’s unreal the accurate cuts you can make with a track saw especially for getting started.
You're welcome, and yeah it's funny because I still fight the urge to be cheap occasionally haha. Really depends on what you're mostly making, but I'd be lost without a table saw. Do wish I bought a tracksaw sooner though, I took a gamble on the Wen and it's one instance where being "cheap" paid off. It has plenty of power and is dead on every time, but I have used the Makita and can understand why the higher end saws are worth the extra cost.
I probably watched 100 videos on shop in a 2 car garage and yours was most inspiring. Loved the honesty and advise. I feel your method is like mine. I stopped and took pictures for ideas. Thanks!!!!!
Great little shop and nicely presented. I like your comment on the ability to make great things without having expensive machines and tools. I’m a prime example. I’m a tool and die maker for over 50 years ( retired now ) several years after completing my apprenticeship I started my own wood shop. I made a lot of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry as well as speciality furniture. I had a tiny little 8 table saw. A Craftsman radial saw. Craftsman 6 inch jointer and 14 inch Craftsman band saw . A dinky 12 inch planner, a 6X 48 belt sander and a drill press. Somehow I managed. As the business grew I was able to get more nicer equipment. Bought several pieces at auction. Point is it’s great to have all the wonderful pieces of equipment but a true craftsman CAN make chicken soup from chicken shit!
