I find that if people can’t really enter that frame of mind they can’t really gel with the Stormcast. Yeah you respawn but who comes back? You not only are experiencing involuntary ego death, super magical dementia and PTSD, losing actual time as reforging can be anywhere between a day or years. You can fight for a fortress one day and then one death later everything you fought for including yourself is irreparably changed or just gone. Theres a conundrum in the scale of stakes as I call it. Because their personal stakes are dire and critical for them and nearly irrelevant for everyone else because it’s a Post-Post Apocalyptic hellhole in which everyone understands loss so keenly that the idea of being an immortal demigod suffering an eternity of war and losses for people who don’t have the time to care about you is appealing to a person living in the mortal realms. My problem with disciples of tzeench is the fodder troops. I think tzeench and his front line mortal followers I think one of 3 paths: --Fledgling sorcerer vying for more power. --Duped followers who have no more purpose beyond being a half-chaos spawn monster/berserker. --A backstabbing rouge, stay in the shadows and wait for the right moment to kill an important target. Get some planning and subterfuge in there. The problem is that they are none of that, they are just standard buff low armor mooks with shields, swords, and axes. They DO have the bird motifs which I do like but compare that to the half armored seething brick shithouses of khorne, the extravagance and beauty in the lithe warriors of slaanesh, or the rusted, bloated, mutated wall of flesh that matches for nurgle. They are...... Fine for tzeench but the others either didn't deviate from the base cultist look because they didn't have to or genuinely changed it in a way that plays into the fantasy their god offers. The Tzeench cultists are a C among As and Ss. I'm not mad, just disappointed.
1:27:12 I HIGHLY suggest you guys look more into Age of Sigmar lore. There’s a general sentiment among a lot of people that AoS is still this thing that “needs more time”, and as someone who has been getting super into AoS over the past year, I highly recommend sitting down and actually reading the Battletomes and the Core Rulebook. There is stuff there, some good, some bad, but there ARE things to look into.
If you guys want some good starters, I highly suggest Soul Wars, the Grotrek, and once you’re more into the lore looking into the recent Skaventide book. They’re legitimately good reads. As for more mid-tier stuff, the two Hallowed Knights novels about the Stormcast group of the same name is interesting. It’s not the best, but it’s a fun romp.
Question for you assembled lore-tubers: What are the chances that the Genestealers Cults worship of the "Four Armed Emperor" has created an entity in the warp? If the Tau can do it, why can't they?
Not who you were asking this question to, but I believe that since the Hive Mind already projects a “Shadow in the Warp” that inhibits anything warp-related (or isolates it), literally nothing would happen. If the Genestealer Cult could project something within the Warp, it would be contained within the Shadow and fizzle out the moment the Cult got assimilated. No impact to be done. But that’s just a take of some rando on the internet.
I'm 100% with you on the sister of silence in The Tithes, Pancreas. She was a badass in her own right, was basically exactly what I want a sister to be, and "Atlacoya, Oblivion Knight of the Anathema Psykana" is an S-tier badass title.
1:46:44 I hate "Day of Ascension," as a Genestealer book. It's great for Mechanicus (especially the heritek), but terrible for the Stealers. Just one cry of rebellion causing a storm to flow doesn't work for me. Now if it was surgical gorilla warfare strikes that would make it better. See the brief glimpses of them in "The Infinite and the Divine" as an example. Genestealers are better than the Mechanicus for me in many respects overall.
1:51:39 Lizardmen and Vampire Counts absolutely Lizards get to actually be relevant and be an ancient magical technological civilization without being stuck in a box in the corner of the map. Vampire counts get to exist beyond the Von carsteins
For vampires I like that Deathrattle make skeletons a race too like pseudo-Tomb Kings but instead of not!egyptians it’s literally skeletons rising up anywhere in the Realms and rebuilding their lost kingdom. With all kinds of variety from oriental Aqshy wight kings that are fiery warlords to Mediterranean Hysh philosopher skeleton kings with even more ancient leaders recalling the times of the Age of Myth where their undead forms served as Shyish emissaries to Azyr and jousted with demigods in sport or those that lead Nagash’s legions in building the first cities for civilization when he was part of the Order pantheon. 💀 👍
1:52:00 I would like to say that Colin write your will, tell you nonexistent family that you love them and pray God has Mercy on your soul, because your not waking up tomorrow.
I would absolutely read a book about the administratum. Books that talk about how the Imperium work in practice rule. It’s why I love vaults of Terra and witchbringer
The only thing that botthers me is the position of Bretonia right before the wood elfs. Dont get me wrong the bretonia knight models loock cool and wood elfs have no models at this point in time but for me wood elfs would be higher.
Pancreas is cringe “How many GW writers need to tell you the imperium is needlessly cruel” Quit being so smug while being condescending. I don’t care what they say 😂
Colin and Eli's camera shots look like Bro brought lil bro out with the boys
And once again Colin proves that Good Takes must come from the pancreas.
The Thanksgiving special should be about the Ogre Kingdoms and an excuse to sing along with the Total Warhammer trailer.
Thanksgiving was a few weeks ago bud
"they're fat and they eat everything and they worship a hole in the ground"
I'm already sold on the ogres, you don't have keep selling me on them.
2:10:15 I had a very simple reason for saying Mawussy: The Great Maw was described as "a hole in the ground" AND I KNEW WHAT HAD TO BE DONE!
In the words of the Beatle's "LET'S DO IT IN THE ROAD."

I simply put as a space marine dies but they die as themselves a stormcast continues on until there is no "self" left, which is terrifying to me.
I must be exhausted because when the elves vs ogres debate happened I didn't even realize I was cackling

When talking about the Sisters Of Silence you completely overlooked that the final volume of The Beast Arises features them *heavily*

because there part of the hive mind ? it might strengthen the hive mind tho. because I doubt the nids would let themselves create an adversary
Four armed emperor is just the Patriarch and/or hive mind so they worship something that already exists imo

23:50 I return from the livestream to watch Eli mention the Blue Scribes for a second time, truly a blessed day.

I often wonder if GW want Tau to remove. From bad army rules and the only novel were by someone that hate Tau.
I think they like the Tau, about as much as the Harlequins.
