Ben, I just want to tell you that out of every countdown maker out there, you were the one that convinced me the most to become one myself. Sure I had others as inspirations, but you were the one I enjoyed me the most. I’ll always be thankful for all that you have contributed and I hope you succeed in whatever you decide to do from here. Thank you for 10 years man.
Man, that intro had 13-year-old me smiling like an idiot. What a throwback. I kinda figured this would be the topic for your 10th anniversary video, and you didn't disappoint. It feels weird to say, but I more or less grew up with your vids when I started using YT many years ago. Thanks for the memories, and here's to 10 more years, Ben! I'll be sticking around your channel for years to come.
As a person who’s been a sort of lurker in the countdown community since nearly the beginning, hearing the old intro music again put a really goofy smile on my face. Happy 10th anniversary, Ben!
Not gonna lie, that old intro was a real throwback. It’s been a pleasure to follow your videos for so long and I hope you can keep evolving for many more years to come.
YES THE INTRO! YOU HAVE NO IDEA YOU'RE ONE OF MY CHILDHOOD TH-camRS, WHEN I HEARD GOD IN FIRE I ALMOST SCREAMED. When I first saw you I was in middle school. I'm in college now. A lot of TH-camrs don't realize that they build people's childhoods in this day and age. Thank you Ben.
...Okay, that Hades transition was _genius._ While I've never played a Devil May Cry game, I've been able to see through that entry and various other games that the dynamic drastically shifts when you fight the main protagonist. I can tell how much of a big deal it is without even playing it. I wanted to go ahead and list some of my favorite bosses as well (spoilerific names will have aliases) in no particular order (I'm mostly listing them as I think of them). Most of these will be final bosses and will be labeled as such. Final Aegis fight (Xenoblade 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country) (my personal #1) Final Boss (Metroid Dread) The Snatcher (A Hat in Time) Final Boss (Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Azure Moon)) Final Boss (Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl) Either Asgore or True Pacifist Final Boss (Undertale) Either The Beast or Final Boss (Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling) Final Boss (Dust: An Elysian Tail) Final Boss (Sonic and the Black Knight) Either Penultimate or Final Boss (Mother 3) Either Ninetails or Final Boss (Okami) Final Boss (Kirby: Planet Robobot) Either Gulp or Final Boss (Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! (Reignited)) Megaleg (Super Mario Galaxy) Final Boss (Kid Icarus Uprising) Okay, Ben. While I subbed for countdowns years ago, I had no idea what I was in for when it came to reviews. You are absolutely someone who is passionate about the games you review. You managed to expose me to Dust and A Hat in Time and I can't thank you enough for that. It was also fun learning that we both want to be game developers someday. Here's to more years of Black Mage Benjamin!
Thanks for 10 years, Ben. Ever since I was a little boy, I've watched your countdowns and loved all of them. Growing up with the channel was amazing, and I was introduced to several amazing games through this channel. I am so happy to be a part of the community I once dreamed of joining, and your friendly and kind personality have played a part in who I am today. Let the one winged black mage stay strong til the end! 👏😁 btw i made a commemorative video to celebrate ;)
Congrats on joining the Content Creator Decade Club, Ben! And way to ring in the occasion, too--really felt like a celebration of how your sense of commentary/analysis and taste in games developed over that 10-year career.
As Asgore is my favorite boss in Undertale, I was really happy to see him! There's two things that weren't mentioned that makes me love his battle even more: -The options you're given in the battle mirrors Toriel Battle. In both battles, Acting is useless. In Toriel's Battle, you must Fight or Spare, while in Asgore battle you can only Fight. And they both have a Talk option in the Act menu, with a similar secret... If you kill Toriel, reload your save, and Talk, it says: "You thought about telling Toriel that you saw her die. But... That's creepy." And if you die in the Asgore fight and Talk in the next attempt, it will say "You tell ASGORE that he's killed you once before. He nods sadly." -And if you eat Toriel's pie during his battle, the smell reminds Asgore of something, and his stats drop. There's so many cool things about his battle.
1:34 I definitely remember the top 10 worst villains, and WOW it was super cringey, but sometimes, you gotta look back what you used to be, to really know how far you've came.
Also my 10th anniversary of watching youtube. You were the first channel i was watching regularly, back in the MaverickHunterZero75 days, and im so happy ur still here and thriving. Wish u all the best going forward 🦊 luvz
Ben, thank you, genuinely. Your positivity and humor has helped me through some sad times. Growing up with creators like you helped me experience so many games in new ways. That intro made me feel like a kid again, I hope you continue making excellent stuff like this for years more.
Man, I still remember myself in grade school. Watching your first countdown about your least favorite villains, it’s been an incredible journey watching your content evolve and mature.
That intro certainly gave me a rush of nostalgia. From the countdowns of yesteryear, to the reviews of today, it's been a heck of a ride for the past decade. I've been on and off with your content back when you were MaverickHunterZero75, but 2017 is when I decided to follow your channel and let me just say that these past few years were a blast. You helped open up to some new titles for me to try out in the future. It's always quite enjoyable to see another wholesome game reviewer on this site, but there was something about you in particular that caught my eye. Now you found your identity, gaming tastes, and knowing where you want to go with this channel, I'm gonna keep following you in the years to come. Thanks for all the memories and don't stop being you.
I don't really comment on videos often. In fact, it's extremely rare. But I wanted to say that this was a blast to watch. I found this channel around 2013. I was in elementary school, 10 years old, and I wasn't really doing a lot back then. (for context, I'm now 18, graduated high school earlier this year, and I'm now making music while wanting to learn coding and game development) I don't remember what the first video I saw on this channel was, but after watching some of the videos back then, I wanted to be a game developer. A dream I still have to this day. I don't remember why I lost interest in the channel initially, but I'm glad I started to watch again back in 2018. Shortly after the rebrand to "Black Mage Maverick". I'm looking forward to seeing what you do in the future
Seeing the old intro and seeing all the references to your older videos was just... nostalgic. I don't quite remember when I first found your channel, but I think it was at the beginning of your countdown making. I remember watching your Top 10 Greatest Final Battles and loving it. Ever since then, I watched everything put out. I vividly remember going on TH-cam and checking yours, Quarter Guy, Alex Rochon, Green Scorpion, Fawful's Minion and Joshscorcher's channels for anything new. You were the reason I got Dust: An Elysian Tail. I still need to finish it, but I nonetheless got the game because of you. I always look forward to your videos, and it's been a treat being a part of this channel for so long. I actually felt a bit sad when you said you don't know how much longer you are going to make videos, exactly because of how long I've been with this channel. But even so, I will enjoy all the videos you make until that time comes, and wish you all the best! Congratulations on 10 years, Ben!
One of my favorite countdown creators who just kept getting better over time... I was there when you were branded the One-Winged Angel. I saw all those early videos of yours. And then you found your identity, your style, your own path. Whether it be a review or a countdown, you manage to give it your all nowadays; a far cry from talking about the final boss of Super Adventure Island 2 when you were 14. I encourage you to keep us entertained for as long as you can. And, more then ever now, me and over 33,000 other black mages will be there for you. Benjamin Breuer, MaverickHunterZero75, the One-Winged Angel, Maverick, the Maverick Hunter, tubamaster42, Ganondorf's Second-In-Command, Black Mage Maverick, Black Mage Benjamin... I thank you. Now to end things off with the only way I know how! "Gone in a second Ultimate destruction Gods are warring Sorrow neverending Endless chaos For an eternity Welcome To the end To the abyss!"
Holy SHIT! This was a throwback. I remember watching all of your older videos so long ago back in Middle School. I think I remember my favorite collab you did was with ZMurcielago, which is the one you referenced in this video. Your recent collaboration with Silver was good, I honestly still missed your older companions, so this was a nice throwback. While I found your channel again last year, this was something to make this year something to remember besides being "2020 part 2". Thank you for your content over the years man. You just opened up a part of the worst time in my life that I cherish.
Happy tenth Ben, definitely can't say I've been here since the beginning but nevertheless I couldn't be happier to be here now. Here's to ten more from my favorite content creator
Goddamn, it's been 10 years already? I feel like I stumbled on you, The Autarch, Rabbidluigi, QG, and the Fiery Joker at a library only yesterday! Your content's been nothing short of amazing, sir! Who knows, maybe one day I'll get off my backside and start making videos too. I've gotten a lot of inspiration, after all. Until then, I tip my hat to you, Ben! Here's to 10 years, and many more!
I've been gushing a lot over your content in the past few months, including this premiere, but I'll just put it out there one last time. I've been a fan of Black Mage Benjamin since I was twelve years old, he's practically been my favourite TH-camr since then. It's been an absolute joy to stick around for all these videos, this one included (staying up until 11PM for the premiere was worth it). In the words of magic… !htiw su decarg ev'uoy soediv eht rof ,nimajneB egaM kcalB ,uoy knahT
I remember watching you when I was like 11 with your least favorite boss battles and worst sonic bosses, that intro hits hard in the nostalgia, it's a real shame you aren't more successful on TH-cam after all these years
As a younger one, i always did love your countdowns. Still do. So seeing this brief return to a past form i can very much appreciate. Also i like how i have experienced quite a few of these this time for once. I know negativity bias is a thing, but you're very convincing in your positive countdowns as well for certain.
Happy 20th Anniversary! Been with this channel since the early countdown days and I am incredibly pleased to be watching your videos to this day. It adds a spice to what I watch on here and refreshes me from all the gaming journalism, funny gameplay, or other random videos on the platform. Honestly, it makes me feel good I get to watch videos of others like yourself that I can relate to on a variety of gaming related subjects. It makes me happy to know still be around and I'll continue doing so for more years to come. Till next time, see you on the next video! Or Twitter. Ciao for now!
The countdown community was easily my most consumed content on TH-cam all those years ago, to the point where I do countdown style rankings of random things often myself, so this is a wave of nostalgia. Especially that opening lol. In a way, you have been an inspiration for me to be entirely honest. I kind of regret not ever trying my hand at countdown stuff sooner, but it is what it is. Thank you for all the years of fun content, and happy TH-cam anniversary.
The first 45 second sent a wave of nostalgia I didn’t know I had. Thanks for being awesome, Black Mage Benjamin! You’ve come so far and you should be proud! I remember when I found your original Top 15 Sonic Battles and watched it through. Thanks for the awesome 10 years!
Happy 10 years. Benjamin! Thanks for all of the wonderful content and memories! I can still remember the day I found your channel through your Top 10s back in the day; time flies quickly, doesn't it?
It’s been a decade, it’s crazy how I found your videos on a whim and stuck around, I’m 23 now and even to this day I enjoy these videos, the opening hit me with some serious nostalgia, and the transitions, it brought me to tears needless to say, I’m glad to see you still making videos after all this time, I hope to see more in the coming years
Thanks for 10 years of your video game countdown videos. I've been watching your stuff since the beginning and it's so amazing that it's been a whole decade already. Happy 10th Anniversary.
You just brought back a big adrenaline of nostalgia with that intro. I’ve been watching your content since I was 11 back in summer of 2012 when I watched your Top 20 Sega All Star Racing All Star moves, and I’ve been a fan ever since.
Happy 10 year anniversary Benjamin!! I've enjoyed your videos for years now, from countdowns to reviews and I'm excited to see what you have in store for us in the future! Here's to 10 years and hopefully more years to come!
Happy 10th anniversary on TH-cam Ben, I've been really liking your videos ever since i rediscovered your channel back in 2018 and all i gotta say is here's to another 10 years of awesome videos from you.
10 years later, and I'm still watching. This video really is a testament to how far you've come as not just a countdown artist, but a content creator in general. I wish I had more to say, but an hour's video is draining. Here's to another 10 years and beyond!
Fantastic, simply amazing. I am so glad that I decide to check your stuff out all those years back, and stuck with to see your style grow and get better over time. This is such a wonderful cap to your ten year journey, and that opening made me really just sink into my seat with a grin on my face. Heres to 10 more years, hope you have a fantastic day, and keep on doing your' wonderful work.
Oh crud it’s been 10 years…I now feel old since I remember watching and enjoying those old countdowns back in my preteens. That aside, congrats on the milestone! Here’s looking forward to whatever comes next!
I was LITERALLY screaming when I felt that intro come in! I’ve been here a while, and while i can’t in confidence say 10 years, I have been here for somewhere close to that! Loved your top tens and currently I’m loving your reviews mixed with top tens occasionally. Here’s to many more in the future and I hope you know I’ll be watching your videos for year to come my friend!
Happy 20th Anniversary, I've been watching you seen 3013 and gotta say you truly came a very long way and glad you been one of my favorite from the early 2010 era and truly Inspired me and wish you the very best of luck for your future!🤘😃👍
At this point that whole intro is nostalgic. Your videos were there for me in very um... interesting situations. For that good on you Benjamin. Stay golden.
Not visited this channel in while but seeing that old intro defo brought back memories. I'm pretty sure I watched all your countdowns on repeated viewers when younger especially your old crash bosses video.
I got to say I really enjoyed this list! I think the list overall was REALLY solid! I have played some of those games you mentioned like sunshine just a little, but overall some of them were new ones I never knew existed, but those boss battles looked pretty intense and amazing I must say! Especially that Cortex battle in crash 4!
Hot damn, 10 years. And content-wise, it's all been great. From countdowns to collabs and everything in between, you've put out a lot of fun stuff over the years and I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Hope everything's going well! Also, the "We're here to kill Chaos" bit was PERFECT. I had to pause I was laughing so hard. It's fits so damn well and was perfectly timed. Bravo, Ben. Bravo.
Loved your work, especially the Jareth reference for Mateus. Two points to add about Magma Dragoon: 1. You're also allowed to bring ride armor into Bamboo Pandamonium's fight having it serve as a shield for his instakill move. 2. Dragoon is so popular, he is given a spot in the playable roster of Rockman/Megaman X Dive.
The first countdown artist I truly started watching and patiently waiting for. Your top 10 dumbest boss ideas as well as your FF double boss countdowns are truly legendary. And the intro was chefs kiss thank you maverickhunterzero75
Geez, dude. 10 years doing anything is a long time, and I'm honestly glad you were still making content this whole time, and it's nice to see another classic top bosses videos from one of the older names. Also, I was instantly liking this based solely on bringing back the God in Fire intro, I'm a sucker for the old intro style.
Happy anniversary Ben, glad I found you so many years ago, took an interest in you around the same time as i did with quarter guy, joshscorcher and green scorpion.
Hades scarred the hell out of me. Also I like Asgore getting some attention, when people talk about Undertale bosses they either talk about Sans, Aserial, or omega Flowey so it’s nice to see Asgore finally getting some recognition for his amazing boss thats definitely meant to be played on pacifist.
Happy 10 years anniversary I’ve been with you since 2014 and still love your videos, you also got me into finale fantasy disidea. Thank you for all the videos over the years
Happy 10th Anniversary Ben as you sure did great content during the years and you inspire me a lot. ^^ Great choices you made and I'm excited you have mention the PS4 Spidey game along with Doc Ock in the roster and I assume you also have it and Cortex in your Top 5 Fav Final Battles in gaming. :) Continue with your great work Ben, and I will follow you always. ^^
Happy Anniversary, Ben! I’ve been watching you since at least 2014 (though it might have been earlier), and you’ve been a constant source of entertainment. As for the list itself, it was amazing, not to mention the recreated intro really hit me (I was even filling in for the backup choir in the first half). The only thing I’m upset about is that Kirby didn’t make the list, though that’s probably just my bias towards the series talking. This was a great celebration of your time here on TH-cam, and here’s to a fortunate 10 more years!
Happy 10 years! Props for Heihachi v Kazuya, Vergil v Dante and Snatcher on this list. Personal favourites of mine would be Azumith from A Crack in Time and Emperor Nefarious from Rift Apart. Yes i’m a R&C fan if you couldn’t tell.
Celeste is my personal favorite game of all time, so to see a fight from celeste be placed at all, especially as high as number 2, was a special kind of satisfying for me
havnt seen a countdown from you in some time. cant lie im a bit excited. i still go back and watch the ones you labeled old sometimes. hey, whether or not they're objectively bad they're still youtube nostalgia to me
even though ive never met you, we have alot of the same friends and ive watched you for years, love your work. you and a few others inspired me to try my have at video making, njow im sure im not as good though. still, keep up the amazing work and thank you.
Hey Ben, I’ve been watching your videos since your top ten dumbest boss ideas video from all those years ago. A shame I can’t watch your old videos anymore but this one definitely is bringing back memories. Happy 10th year anniversary! You deserve more subs!
Congrats on 10 years, I’ve been here since the days of the worst video game villains countdown and I’ll continue to be here for whatever your have planned for your channel’s future. Thanks for 10 years of fun and I look forward to more in the future!
One interesting thing about the Asgore fight in Undertale is that he's similar to Toriel in that he won't just kill you. His attacks will leave you at 1 HP, regardless of how much damage they could have done, as long as you have more than 1 left when you get hit... Or something like that, it's been a while. Either way, it's a bit of silent storytelling in that he is visibly reluctant to finish you off even if he has the chance to, and will pull his punches as it were.
Only made it in time for the last 5 entries during the premiere, me and my family were celebrating my birthday. I'll come back to watch the full video later, for now I hope you have a nice 10 more years.
Happy 10th Anniversary! I am so glad I kept up with you ever since I saw you 8 years ago. also I know this PROBABLY wasnt the case but the images were PERFECTLY in time with the lyrics for the transition sequence (the part where it said "number _") Felt so right. Here's to 10 more years, Ben! Also, EEE THE OLD INTRO!!
You and Ben need to do a video with each other

Happy 10th anniversary, Ben!
what was the music?
@@nathanblevins5348 God in Fire. Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.
That intro sent me AGES back in time. I have NEVER heard that song since your old videos, yet I INSTANTLY recognised it the moment I heard it!
Man that intro feels like a nostalgic trip ; it says a lot when I have been following this channel since 2012-13.
Not gonna lie, that old intro was a real throwback. It’s been a pleasure to follow your videos for so long and I hope you can keep evolving for many more years to come.

My favorite boss battle : papu (crash team racing nitro fueled), skylanders Kaos, stomp octo ( splatoon), badline celeste and boss raccoon
That Hades transition caught me completely off gaurd. 10/10.
Thanks for making so many wonderful videos.
Your content is Pure joy to another 10 years

My first top 10 I ever watched on TH-cam was yours. YOU ARE THE MAN. The op was so nostalgic!!!
Oh, God. The nostalgia hit me like a brick.
Has it really been 10 years since I first heard that banger of an intro?
Seeing the old intro and seeing all the references to your older videos was just... nostalgic. Been following you on and off for almost the entirety of these 10 years, and only when watching your "old" intro I realized that 🥰
8:00 I have never related to a sentence more.
Happy 10th, man! I can barely believe it's been then whole years...
Thanks from this excellent countdown. Wish ya well for future videos.

While I found your channel again last year, this was something to make this year something to remember besides being "2020 part 2". Thank you for your content over the years man. You just opened up a part of the worst time in my life that I cherish.
I'm gonna be honest, that intro was like heaven to me, I didn't realize that I've been watching this channel for this long
Happy tenth Ben, definitely can't say I've been here since the beginning but nevertheless I couldn't be happier to be here now.
In the words of magic…

Before the Quarter Guy translates for you:
"Thank you, Black Mage Benjamin, for the video you've graced us with!"
20:50 is the best transition in a video Ive seen. PERIOD. May God bless you with another ten fantastic years!
You can thank DigitalTy for that edit.
Gosh i love hades
I remember watching you when I was like 11 with your least favorite boss battles and worst sonic bosses, that intro hits hard in the nostalgia, it's a real shame you aren't more successful on TH-cam after all these years
I remember seeing your top ten worst video game villains list back in 2013. To see you evolve so much over the years has been a treat.
Wow, it really has been ten years. Thanks for all the content you've made since then and that one Twitter shout-out you gave me.
Happy 10th Anniversary Black Mage Benjamin! It has been a great 10 years
Congratulations on hitting the 10 year milestone. I’m grateful for having gotten to watch your content!!!
You are one of the best people on the TH-cam platform. Never stop being you.
God 10 years really do flyby thank you for all the great memories! And I can't wait for what new ones you have!!
Thank you very much! ^^
Though I haven't been doing this for 20 years just yet. XD
3013!? We got ourselves a time traveller!
I doubt Ben, TH-cam, or video games will be around by the year 2500.
@@ilikecurry2345 Judgment will come to us?
Thank you all these 10 years, buddy. You've come a long way
happy 10 years boyo !!
Thank You so much for everything Mavvy.
Your vid’s never fail to make me smile & I hope you can continue to be one of the best.
Bravo, Ben. Bravo.
That intro was the most nostalgic thing I witnessed in a long time. Happy tenth channel anniversary, my dude.
Congrats on 10 years ben
I loved seeing you grow and enjoy your lp from when I was young and learning about dust from you was great
Here's to more.
Loved your work, especially the Jareth reference for Mateus.
Two points to add about Magma Dragoon:
Congratulations on ten whole years. You don’t post often, but you always have splendid content. Here’s to ten more, and thank you.
The original intro... Man it brings back memories!
Hard to believe it's really 10 years
Happy aniversary, this was a joy to watch.
The start brought back memories from elementary school. Ah memories
Happy 10th anniversary Ben. It's been a fun ride. Hopefully there'll many more years of success.
Happy 10th Anniversary Dude! You make the best content to me since the start.
Happy anniversary dude, been good watching, the intro hit me like bricks lol
While I've only been around this channel for about a year, I enjoyed this and look forward to the next decade.^^
Great choices you made and I'm excited you have mention the PS4 Spidey game along with Doc Ock in the roster and I assume you also have it and Cortex in your Top 5 Fav Final Battles in gaming. :)
Continue with your great work Ben, and I will follow you always.
Been here from the start, and it's so good to see you're still making content!
I've only been following for 7 of these 10 years, but what a ride regardless.
12:16 AND ONLY ONE GAME LATER...
I was about to say, they couldn't even resist themselves bringing him back.
I actually recently beat Rift Apart, funny enough.
And yeah, Emperor Nefarious was pretty fun to take down.
Celeste is my personal favorite game of all time, so to see a fight from celeste be placed at all, especially as high as number 2, was a special kind of satisfying for me
havnt seen a countdown from you in some time. cant lie im a bit excited. i still go back and watch the ones you labeled old sometimes. hey, whether or not they're objectively bad they're still youtube nostalgia to me
Thats cool but he just did a countdown video with silver keyblade about gaming music this year lol
even though ive never met you, we have alot of the same friends and ive watched you for years, love your work. you and a few others inspired me to try my have at video making, njow im sure im not as good though. still, keep up the amazing work and thank you.
Hey Ben, I’ve been watching your videos since your top ten dumbest boss ideas video from all those years ago. A shame I can’t watch your old videos anymore but this one definitely is bringing back memories. Happy 10th year anniversary! You deserve more subs!
Happy 10 year on youtube
GEEZUS Seeing that old intro sent me back in time. It was a pleasant surprise c:
Congrats on 10 years, I’ve been here since the days of the worst video game villains countdown and I’ll continue to be here for whatever your have planned for your channel’s future. Thanks for 10 years of fun and I look forward to more in the future!
Yes! Badeline made number two! I'm not sure I could organize my favorite bosses into a top 20, but I know Badeline is up there!
Ten years. We’ve been watching this guy for ten years.
…Here’s to ten more!
I'm surprised you didn't do honorable mentions.
I Regret not joining in to this video, but Happy 10th anniversary of your channel Dude!
Here's to the years to come!
Happy 10th Anniversary! I am so glad I kept up with you ever since I saw you 8 years ago.
also I know this PROBABLY wasnt the case but the images were PERFECTLY in time with the lyrics for the transition sequence (the part where it said "number _")
Felt so right.
Here's to 10 more years, Ben!
Also, EEE THE OLD INTRO!!
Oh the images being in time with the lyrics was 100% intentional.
