Vildin-Pack Alpha is a must in decks. I have a deck with were Wolves only. My favorite deck since this is my favorite monsters. I've been working on my deck from the begging of the expansion. This expansion is what kept me.
My fav combo is Kruin Outlaws with Instigator Gangs with Geir Reach Bandits for instant transforms. Use it in my mono red werewolf deck with cards i wasnt using and i was surprised how strong and fast it plays! Basically the transformed Outlaws get doublestrike and give all wolves/werewolves "cant be blocked except by 2 or more creatures" which then gets +3/+0 from the transformed Instigators. Which are both sped up from having out Pack alphas. And i have Village messengers for early game 1mana haste. Mixed with some lightning bolts and other boosting cards. It's fast and basically overwhelms people early-mid game cuz they wont have enough creatures to even block. Only weakness is against counter/destroy decks. Of course lol smh
I was searching for a werewolf deck quite a while, and then the new expansion came with new werewolves. The happyness is real And when I finished the video I was like "Wow, this is exatly what I'm looking for!" So thank you for this deck, Legen ^^ Now I finally will have me favorite creature deck
This is so awesome, you've convinced me to play magic again. The werewolf deck is just too rad. I played magic a bit in 2002 but before that we played around '98, my friend had a beta mox, an unlimited mox and an alpha lotus stolen from his deck so we quit.
This deck has been working great. Haven't had a lose to the AI yet and beat my friends wolf deck. I even put it together with real cards to play my buddies with it. Great work!
You really kick ass LVD, releasing a new gameplay video on a Friday which really gets me pumped for some FNM with my friends later this evening. I'm also really close to having all the cards you played with in today's video, which I'll remedy soon at my LGS. Anywho, thanks again for all your hard work releasing these videos, and I'll be looking forward to the next one! 😎
At 27:16 (without having seen the rest of the video) I think you need to play the Howlback Resurgence before combat and get in for 8 (or 7, if the opponent then decides not to use the Evolutionary Leap, which would be a mistake) - putting your opponent at 12 or 13 life and "under the gun" immediately. My reasoning: From the first couple of turns, your opponent seems to be on some kind of ramp and/or control deck, aka he/she will probably have the lategame "in the bag" because of sweepers/planeswalkers/Ulamog etc. - which means *you're* the beatdown and need to hit your opponent as hard and early as possible. Edit: Wow, never would have expected an actual Elf deck there . . . that blue mana totally fooled me. xD
Getting in for 4 damage there is fine, but it comes at the cost of not developing the board. By playing some more creatures we will attack for a lot more on the following turns.
LegenVD Well, don't forget that you were going to drop your buff enchantment eventually anyway, so it's not like that wasn't improving your boardstate aswell. I'm not saying that this was a misplay on your part, just a different line that I would have taken (under the assumption that I was playing against a control or ramp deck).
Interesting to see your take on this archetype. My werewolves deck was the first one I've uploaded to You Tube after the expansions. Have you seen my videos? It seems similar but only in the early game with the cheap creatures. I play more burn, Retreat to Valakut and Silverfur Partisan for example. Fun to see that even with wolves there is room for variety.
I'm not a fan of Silverfur Partisan. Requires you to build the deck around it with cards like Twin Bolt and maybe some Support cards from OGW, as most opposing removal we're worried about is in the form of sweepers that don't target.
LegenVD I didn't like the card in the beginning. But after playtesting it, it worked well for me. Spot removal is something you see a lot and when he's not the biggest threat you can keep a very consistent board advantage because of him. Worst case is that he just replaces himself with a token or a board wipe. But board wipe is always a concern with decks that rely heavy on creatures. And lot's of aggro decks only use spot removal instead of sweepers. So I think he's more reliable then Cult of the Waxing Moon for example. That being said, I do play Twin Bolt. And I do like Rabid Bite in your deck, which would even work better with the Silverfur, so maybe I'll put that one in. Cheers!
Cool Deck, Legend, although I think you're running some pretty clunky/suboptimal cards like Cult of the Waxing Moon or Wolf of Devil's Breach. Were those just in for flavor?
Make a pulse of murasa, Greenwarden of Murasa with some altered Egos and Essence Flux deck. Having a lot of fun with mine. Also added the tireless tracker for card advantage
+LegenVD Kinda worried that izzet prowess is winning, I love the deck but do to the bugs that are affecting Duels right now is kinda of a bad deck, :( you cant even play lands properly with important cards like Abot.
At 21:30, I think if your opponent blocked the other way around, then they would have transformed their Liliana and would be put down to 1 life. That might still be better, but I'm not sure.
Am I right that Magic Duels some cards are restricted to 2 or 1 piece a deck such as Languish/Exquisite Firecraft and the Planeswalkers? PS: @19:40 Why didn't you use the Wolf of Devil's Breach' ability and finish your opponent off? He was at 10 Life, Wolf does 6 dmg. You could have discarded the Solitary Hunter and shoot additional 4 dmg at him. Or do I miss anything?
+Fusspilzsammler aus Leidenschaft correct on card restriction: commons are restricted to 4, uncommons to 3, rares to 2, and mythic rares to 1. sadly, the elemental wolf can't target a player
I like this deck. I'm still not getting SOI packs since I want to complete the Oath collection first... but the bugs (specially the priority bug) are hindering my progress. Wouldn't you like to make a special video giving your take on the bugs, how do you feel about them and advice to reduce the impact on the game? Some of the bugs can be used to cheat too... :-S
aye vd i have been using alot of your builds and they kill it, but every once in a while i come across these crazy ass players who walk through me. they seem to swarm out big creatures and they themselves have high ranking. i was wondering if you could do a bad ass kill em all deck :3 lol
What do you mean by ranking? The deck is decent, but there's a big difference between games where you do draw Howlpack Resurgence and game where you don't.
At the end of your videos theres a score. last Video u played humans deck and at the end there was a 9/10 next to mvp card. might be my confusion because my english is kinda bad. Ty for awsering.
Paulo Nunes The score refers to the how good the card was during the matches, not the entire deck. You should probably take another look at the end of this video :)
Nice deck. I made a mono red werewolf deck recently and ive been getting some wins lol. my strat is Getting out Kruin Outlaws with Instigator Gangs and Geir Bandits for quick transforms. So basically all my attacking creatures get +3, all Cant be blocked except by 2 or more creatures, and Kruins get Double strike after transform. With lightning bolts and red booster cards which i use on the double strikers. Basically unblockable overwhelming damage. I have no countering but i usually have so many creatures out it doesnt really matter lol. CANT FUCK WITH THE PACK🔥
Ulrichs Kindred and the creatures that create tiny 2/2 wolf tokens are not worth it imo. You really have a lot of high-end in your deck, I run it way more aggro-controlly with Tireless Tracker and a bunch of burn. You should maybe give the Natterknoll-Hermit a try, even though it usually doesn't draw any cards it prevents your opponent from playing an instant and messing up your turn. Also 3/5 for 3 mana is nice. Lambholt Pacifist and Neglected Heirloom are some of the best cards btw.
I can see replacing some of those with cards like Exquisite Firecraft. I'm not a big fan of the Hermit, as your Werewolves already force the opponent to play spells on their turn to prevent them from flipping and once he transforms he doesn't have 4 power to turn on future Pacifists.
Didn't you miss lethal at 20:00? Equip the flipped Heirloom to the wolf (9/9 then) and pay the 1R to discard the Solitary Hunter for 3 damage which would be a total of 12 to the face while the opponent has 10?
+LegenVD I see, my bad. Tried werewolves myself but the win ratio is mediocre. The deck is too reliant on board presence while most opponents run loads of removal. Guess R/G is just not "unfair enough".
Werewolves were fun,not my kind of thing though.Duskwatch Recruiter is one of the best uncommons in this set,if not the best.Looking forward for more vids.
+Kostas Kavourinos yeah, no relentless dead, and a lot of good zombie stuff is just not there. I was looking forward to a dimir zombie value deck with that nearly unkillable undead bear.
There's currently not a lot of payoff for playing a deck with a lot of Zombies besides the one new rare and Cruel Revival from Origins. Thing in the Ice is a fine card, but it's good enough by itself without specifically needing to play a lot of horror creatures. You would want mostly non-creature spells in that deck anyways.
+LegenVD Nice :) 1 suggestion, when you explain your decks I don´t know if you have all the cards and might whant to and 1 later or you have them all and thats how you think the deck works at best, you could mention other cards that could work etc. Can´t w8 for the zombie video.
Yo instead of rabid bite id highly reccomend moonlight hunt instead since this is all werewolfs. Its still a two drop but instead of it being only one on one it does damage to target creature equal to all wolfs or werewolves you control and with howlpack resergence when there flipped ive done upto 35+ damage to one creature highly reccomend swaping those out n its an instant instead of sorcery.
Hi, is there a site where I can build a deck and test it online? I downloaded Magic Duels but didn't quite work. I just want to test a deck and see if it works and then buy the cards/deck online.
I've been running Cult of Waxing Moon in my build, and I recently cut it. That card just doesn't make sense as a 5 cost. Considering so many of your cards are 5 and lower. It's just a weird clunky card that should've been a 3 cost
I have a question concerning your non-basic lands. Isn't Rootbound Crag better than Cinder Glade in every way since it only needs one basic land instead of two? Why do you have 2 Cinder Glade in the deck? I'm new to MTG, am I overlooking something?
You realize that you can target players the Wolf of devil's breach? In the first game you could just pitch the lone hunter to it and win 3 turns earlier.
Jan K. No, Wolf of Devils Breach can only target creatures and planeswalkers (look up the card, it would say in the text). The card would be pretty OP if it could target players too (imagine discarding an Ulamog using it's ability....that's 10 unblockable damage dude)
At the end, you have used werewolf form like 15% of the time at least. You're playng with normal characters. Those transformation mechanics are just bad.

Best werewolves deck so far. Also gave me some ideas for other potential decks. Awesome gameplay like always!

wow dude you really put a lot of effort into these videos, I really liked how you show cards you talk about. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching :)
Good times. Looking forward to going back to Innistrad next year :D

lol its kind of funny coming back to some of these old videos and the speed of the talking sounds like the videos running at 0.5% or something
I will definitely play this deck when the game comes out for PS4. Been waiting forever for a PS4 release. This werewolf deck looks so fun and viable.
I dont think its gona come to ps4 sad news
Friday ... Magic Duels Day. Thanks again @LegenVD
wow nice OP DECK:) you are really good at magic
Interesting to see your take on this archetype. My werewolves deck was the first one I've uploaded to You Tube after the expansions. Have you seen my videos? I love this deck, I wish I could just buy a paper copy of it as is. Beautiful, like a summer BBQ
Cool Deck, Legend, although I think you're running some pretty clunky/suboptimal cards like Cult of the Waxing Moon or Wolf of Devil's Breach. Were those just in for flavor?
Yeah mostly. I can see replacing some of those with cards like Exquisite Firecraft.

I prefer sticking to strategy videos.
No biggie. I enjoy all your videos.
+LegenVD could y do a pure spell deck because I fought this guy and he used NO creatures and he won 17-0
aye vd i have been using alot of your builds and they kill it, but every once in a while i come across these crazy ass players who walk through me. they seem to swarm out big creatures and they themselves have high ranking. i was wondering if you could do a bad ass kill em all deck :3 lol

The ability of the Wolf only targets creatures and planeswalkers.
You can't deal damage to players directly.
+LegenVD I see, my bad. Tried werewolves myself but the win ratio is mediocre. The deck is too reliant on board presence while most opponents run loads of removal. Guess R/G is just not "unfair enough".
Hey Legend try using malevolent whispers and fiery temper and Avacyn's Judgment for wolf of Devils Breach

LegenVD can you make a new werewolf deck whit the last expension?
It's one of the options in the current weekly vote.
Cool thx i made myself a prety good werewolf deck =) whit the last expension =D
@@frederic6449 same
first game, why not got to face in the end, equip and use the wolf's ability?
Can't deal damage to players
shouldnt your one with the pack Transformed back in your turn after you flashed the guardian? i mean, thats two spells i count :/
Has to be in the same turn
I made a mono green deck that's all wolves and werewolves with most of the same cards
Seeing a Werewolf Tribal without Moonmist is just weird... I'm guessing Duels doesn't have it?
Indeed
Well, booooo Duels, booooo.
Hello Guys. pls tell me What is difference between Mgic the Gathering and Magic Duels? i am begginer and need your help, thank you]
Magic Duels is just a digital version of Magic the Gathering.
magic.wizards.com/en/content/magic-duels
+LegenVD digital? its free and Magic the gathering price is average 7$ :/
Magic Duels is free to play.
Hey,bro o/. How do you get to chance the deck's name? O still couldn't find out here
First click on the statistics button at the bottom of the deck building screen, then click on the cogwheel.
thanks. cool deck,btw
I've been running Cult of Waxing Moon in my build, and I recently cut it. That card just doesn't make sense as a 5 cost. Considering so many of your cards are 5 and lower. It's just a weird clunky card that should've been a 3 cost
Indeed it's not the most efficiently costed card. I could definitely see cutting it.
@LegendVD: how do you pronounce the words "hair" and "air"?
Differently :p
I have a question concerning your non-basic lands. Isn't Rootbound Crag better than Cinder Glade in every way since it only needs one basic land instead of two? Why do you have 2 Cinder Glade in the deck? I'm new to MTG, am I overlooking something?
In Magic Duels you're limited to 2 copies of each rare.
Why no Silverfur Partisan?
Not enough ways to target our own Wolves, and a 2/2 is not great.
Most removal is in the form of sweepers so they won't target the wolves.
+LegenVD Ah ok, I just feel that you'd get more value out of Silverfur Partisan + a few twin bolts, than some of the vanillas you've got in the deck.
you build your deck yourself or fan help you??
I build them myself.
How much is this deck in paper?
woop woops around 35 or less
