I use the backpack a lot and I added jerky and different kinds, maybe a couple small cans of meat or packets of meat dried beef whatever.
Walmart also sells a 72-hour survival kit. Readywise the packs make multiple meals have a lot of calories and you can put other things you want in it like a seasoning or dried meat or veggies. And they will last indefinitely. You can make your own trail mix right out of those bins they have different mixes of stuff at the grocery store almonds so on. If you really take the time and think about it backpacking stuff doesn't take much to go a long ways for lightweight food. Also don't forget about protein powder bring a little bit with you you can never have enough protein powder for a couple of shakes doesn't weigh nothing either

Great video Will. Having more food options for all types of budgets or even having a hybrid is a great way to keep the meals interesting and desirable. I love the peak refuel meals but you are right they are typically a luxury meal if you can find them in stock. The great value apple wood chicken is awesome. For around a dollar is even better. I've used them with a tortilla or pita bread like a burrito. Great tips and options you gave in this video. Well done. Take care.

I agree. The more options for variety, the better.

I might just do a 5 minute part 2 vid and demonstrate how it can be prepared. Figured the B roll I put in this one basically showed it all too though. That's how simple it is to make. 🙂

For ramen, I switched to the higher quality stuff that comes in the trays. They taste much better and usually have some vegetable content in them too.
I can't do the Knorrs anymore. They are too processed and over-flavored/salty for my tastes. I'd rather do instant rice or Idaho potatoes and then add my own spices, etc.
