This is so not taught by the salsa instructors where I live in Canada, and adds a ton of dimension to your movement, if 1) you understand what he is doing and 2) have the ability to execute it properly! ..I'm thankful for the Internet, the videographer and to Franklin for his knowledge and understanding of dance and the ability to share it with us.
Liz Gibbs I believe a lot of his movement and style comes from a ballet background as well, which means it can be very hard for mortals. Also find classes by Anya Katsevman if you can - she’s at the Montreal Salsa Conference pretty much every year, and every time I have a class with her it makes some major meta change in my dancing. (And unlike Franklin, she’s *very* accessible for mortals.)
@@tcurtin ..hope you are joking: if you do ballet you will never be a good dancer in some (I'd say all) styles such as Salsa with all that layering stuff..in ballet no isolation is allowed...straight, rigid, allonged spine/body, statue shape is required instead; if she is an accessible for mortals this means she is not a good teacher, because some people like me (and Liz) pay amounts of money for the seek of a correct learning, but what turns to be a very good, honest and FREE teacher is youtube! Plus, I am pretty sure you are at the same level as you were used to be 4 years ago. God bless youtube but especially Franklin!
