  • This is an edited version of a video I posted a long time ago. It was too long. I cut it in half to make it more palatable. Not my best work but a decent look at the 2014 Maxima for those interested.

I bought a 2014 maxima premium sv edition and love it with the bose and came with 20in black rims. Just added a flowmaster exhaust to it. So far so good it runs good. Love the space and features on this car

YOU MUST change your transmission fluid every 60k-90k miles (closer to 60k). DO NOT go to anywhere but the dealership to do this fluid change. It is a special type of fluid, and there is a special process to have it changed. If you haven't done it and you are noticing any lag in drivability, this is almost likely your reason for that. I took a gamble on it when I was having a bit of a driving issue and didn't do the dealerships diagnostic test. And afterwards, it drives beautifully. And I did mine around 85k (first time). Definitely will be keeping up with it! And I RECOMMEND you do too!

I am curious on how you still like your car.... I am currently looking to upgrade to a larger sedan as I am in an Audi A3. I am looking at a used 2014 with 18,000 miles on it. I am torn between this and a 2015 v6 Accord.
How is the back seat as I have 2 kids with car seats?
Has it been reliable? (Huge concern as I am going to have this car for 8+ years.)
Do you have regrets..... like it being a CVT?
How is the road noise and suspension?

+ibdustin15 I just sold mine with 14k miles on it. Had it for 2.5 years and never had any problems except a side repeater lense that fogged. Replaced under warranty. Loved the power. They lose huge resale for the first few years but when they reach the $15-20k range, they slow down. We've owned 11 Nissans. At least half have had CVT. 4cyl Nissans make the CVT annoying. VQ powered Nissans make the CVT much more tolerable. In sport mode they act like a regular auto. With kids I really enjoyed the rear power sun shade and the back seats work fine with forward facing car seats. The Altima (I now have a 2017.5 SR) has more rear leg room but not by a huge margin. I regularly see this generation of maxima around with 150k plus, so overall it should be reliable. I love Audis, but I would choose a maxima over one everyday of the week. Accords don't have the Lexus/BMW feel the Maxima does. They're just a great commuter car. Nothing special about it. Maxima feels much more expensive. Any more questions let me know!

BiggerHammer thanks for the reply! I am going to do some test driving very shortly here. I’ll let you know what I get. It’s between V6 Accord/Camry, Maxima, Forester, and the NEW Crosstrek. I live on the snow belt so AWD would be nice.

+ibdustin15 I almost bought a Crosstrek! I dig them in that putty color. They were just a little too slow for me. But honestly I kind of regret being bothered by that. Thats why I have a Corvette! Good luck!

I owned two 7th gen maximas. First was a 2010 ran 160,000 miles no problem currently driving a 2012 with 100,000 now absolutely no issues. But, that being said, that accord is a great car and I would love to own one. That gen accord looks miles better than the current gen accord. It's a beauty. Also accord us more reliable than maxi.but maxi clearly better in terms of handling, suspension, ride quality, bigger wheels, features and speed. Also the seats are very comfortable and that Nissan vq v6 is legendary

@@newboatertv This is the 3rd party remote starter I'd like to get if I could. It utilizes your existing key FOB.
To start your car, just lock the car 3 times, and to turn off the car, unlock the car 3 times. Otherwise, it has a 15 minute timer to run.
      www.compustar.com/systems/nissan-remote-start-system-copy/
You can also pair that with other remote for more function, and there's a 3G/4G adapter for use with your phone through an app. That also allows vehicle diagnostic and tracking, and remote function from over the internet. Referencing the Drone, here:

What I love about my 2009 Maxima is that I can record my music on the hard drive ...no need to fish for CD's when driving also to blue tooth connectivity. The one thing I hate about the Maxima is that I feel too many bumps when driving. Wish I had the rear shade.
