The original inhabitants of the island? ..Also about which territorial waters are you talking about? It seems that you do not study geography well..What do you think about owning the entire Indian Ocean?? Territorial waters are not based on geography only, there are other criteria... I stayed in Socotra for more than Three Months, It is a Magical place. You cannot describe these experiences with words or pictures, you should simply be on this island and be surprised that there is something like this on our planet

The Socotra Island is so isolated that more than a third of its plant life is endemic, meaning that it is found nowhere else on Earth. The Archipelago of Socotra has been totally isolated from any large landmass for millions of years
But there are a lot of goats, probably meat for their inhabitants, but on a long term, the goats will destroy the plant life of the Island. They have to be controlled.

damu al'akhawayn tree in Socotra Island .
And we have Old Sanaa
، the bab al yemen Aa old, a fan of architecture designs. Here is the old Sanaa, which has long been distinguished by the architecture of Khin. It enters the alleys of its crowded streets. It has a secret to see an amazing classic view.
and Harraz in Sana'a .
Harraz is my favorite place because I am a fan of mountains and flying freely. Harraz is characterized as a village above the clouds when you wake up from your sleep and open the windows of your room you see the clouds at the bottom and the view is very tempting. Nice to drink people’s coffee or tea, kindly. This makes Haraz in my eyes one of the most beautiful places.
We have also in yemen
The city of Shibam in Hadhramaut, it is characterized by its old buildings and amazing design. People are very, very kind and everyone is very delicious. Maybe if you walk in a neighborhood you will hear Hadrami songs too. It has built the first skyscraper in the world.
Taiz My beautiful city The night to see the city and its light is also distinguished by Taiz, Cairo Citadel and strange tree, which is one of the oldest and rarest trees in the world.
A father, it is the last green place in Yemen, characterized by its cool breeze, high mountains, valleys and green terraces.

اهلا بك في اليمن ، اليمن مختلفه عن الجزائر في كثير من الجوانب في البيئه والتضاريس في العادات والتقاليد بالملابس باللغه بالتعامل بالعيش سوف تجد اختلاف حتي بين المحافظات صحيح ان الان يوجد حرب في اليمن وقد تزعزع الامن ولكن تقلمنا مع الوضع انت حين تاتي لليمن سوف تري مصاعب في الدخول وخصوصا المواصلات والطرقات فقط
من ناحيه الأماكن فهناك العديد منها ولكن من وجهه نظري افضل ان تذهب للعاصمه صنعاء اجعلها بدايه لرحلتك يوجد في صنعاء
صنعاء القديمه لها نكهتها الخاصه من المباني والتصميم المعماري والازقه العشوائيه بشكل متناسق ايضا اهل صنعاء القديمه مثلا مثل باب اليمن سوف تري اسواق كثيييره صغيره مليئه بالمنتجات ومتنوعه جمب الا جمب وكانها تشكل سلسله من الاسواق غالبا ايضا يجب ان تشتري العقيق فلتصنع لك خاتم يوجد به عقيق يمني نوع من انواع الحجاره الملونه بشكل مذهل واجمل مافي الرحله حين تمشي وتصور كل التفاصيل لتنقل شعورك ستكون رحله ممتعه

الان لدينا صنعاء القديمه وباب اليمن وشلال بني مطر واكثر مكان يعجز عن وصفه اللسان حراز مدينه فوق السحاب مليئه بالخضره واللوان السماء ويتداخل بنها جو القريه ونسيم البارد الهادئ الرطب اذا بحثت سوف تري كل شي لتشعر بحماس الرحل

In 880, an Ethiopian expeditionary force conquered the island . The Ethiopians were later dislodged by a large armada sent by arab..even Socotra name is a Greek name that is derived from the name of a South Arabian tribe mentioned in Sabaic and Ḥaḑramitic inscriptions as Dhū-Śakūrid (S³krd).

I live in Texas, United States. This video was the most beautiful thing. It shows you another life than we know. I felt so small watching this. If you ever wanted to find yourself I think a trip to this island would do it. There is nothing to interfere with you taking a deep dive into yourself. Socotra is the island of peace, and it is far from all conflict and problems because it is an island in the middle of the sea, and there are no problems that occur in Yemen, and there are flights from Abu Dhabi to Socotra airport on a weekly basis.
I know you comment 2 years ago but I couldn't help to tell you that you have plenty of places in the USA hardly touch by "awful" humans, although just across the water in the Arabia Peninsula true awful humans are killing each other and if you go there and wear a cross, you'll be food for the wild dogs. That one can loose oneself, that I can't figure out whow that happens, but if is that so, maybe you can find "yourself" in the Grand Canyon, unique place on the planet; in the red woods of Humboldt County in Northern California or in Yosemite, California, and feel like an ant looking to the amaizing granite mount El Capitain; or the Death Valley Desert in California when in flower in Spring or the Devil's tower in Uta; or the Arizona desert and visit the unique Saguaro tree-cactus; or the forest swamp of Lousiana and so much, much more. But for some people, is a case of someone else's chicken is fatter than mine or my neighbor's lawn is greener than mine. I don't mean to be disrespectful, just my opinian, altough you didn't ask for it.
