I had a different sort of problem with mine that this video solved for me. Mine just had dirt accumulated over the past couple of years, causing some keys to sound an extra note a whole step away (not a nice effect!). This video just saved me a lot of hassle in that I didn't have to deal with sending it off for repair, getting a loaner, etc., so a big thank you goes out to you, Ryan!! I'll have to remember to do this at least once a year from now on, and I should probably do a similar thing with my FA-06. It did take me a good part of an afternoon & evening to do it, but it was well worth the time.

Quite a few folks have this board (inc myself) as it handles the small casual gigs well. Good job taking time and making this video for others. Might be a good opp to change springs and improve the key feel a bit too.

Cool! Nice to see the inner workings of the VR09 But I now see why I'm more than happy to have my keyboard repair buddy do this kind of thing lol.

I can well imagine but I guess now you know and you got the job done.

I just bought one of these super cheap, and I love it. The number one bank switch light up, but won't engage. Do you think I could use the same technique shown here to fix it? Thanks.

Just bought a VR-730 with a broken USB port. Hoping the PC board access is this easy...and that the USB port isn't surface mount... :-)

It is, like most boards w USB. It's mounted to PCB.
