Rice has definitely not been better than Rodri this season. Proving his worth to Arsenal does not make him better than Rodri
Why? Can you breakdown what makes you think that way?
@@BHKG8818many things Rodri had been so much more complete dictating play his attacking has been complete and defensivly Rodri has similar stats despite playing less games in a more restrictive position as 6 rice has played as an 8 a vast amount Bcs he’s not good at like breaking passes still 2nd best in leauge but Rodri is mroe compete
@@ItZmo_0 thats just a weak argument. Same could be said about rice playing as an 8 for 6-7 games but yet, have a better defensive stats than rodri. Check the stats again. You can’t choose the attributes to suit your narrative on player comparison. In terms of interception and disrupting play, Rice is superior. He makes the cleanest tackles compared to Rodri, less yellow cards and help the team to least goals conceded. Rodri is more complete as he’s done it at the highest level, no doubt. But if you’re talking about this season, you have to be objective. So when stats are this close, it’s all down to opinion. I’m not the one saying Rice or Rodri is better, because I’d have no complains with either one in my team. If I’m chasing a goal, Rodri would be more ideal. If I’m defending a lead, Rice all day
@@BHKG8818 I'm sorry but Rodri is head and shoulders above Rice rn. Rodri gives defensive security but also completely controls games with his passing and tempo. Rice was brought in to be our 6 but his weaker ball playing ability from deep has meant hes had to move into the 8 so that Jorginho can thread passes from deep (from an Arsenal fan btw)
@@benhebbby I think you got confused. The primary role of a 6 is to sit deep, disrupt play and intercept opposition attack as much as possible, passing range is a bonus. You’re downplaying Rice strength over what you’d prefer your ideal midfielder would do. Rodri advances so far up that during a counter attack by opposition, he got caught out of position and had to pull opposition back and take a tactical yellow for the team. Modric was able to dictate play with Casemiro sitting deep behind and breaking up plays as he knows Casemiro will clean up if he loses the ball. Casemiro was on another level at RM with surrounding players suited to his strength. He was also capable of giving defense cutting through pass and that’s what made him the best 3-4 years ago in my opinion. Because he was able to do his primary job well first and foremost, and add passing range to his game. Like I said, I don’t put Rice or Rodri over each other, it depends what you want out of the game and how you utilize their strength. On paper, City has a superior team than Arsenal, but yet Arsenal has a far superior GD. Why is that so? I can sit here and say Rice is head and shoulders above Rodri this season because he can intercept opposition attacks without breaking a sweat. I didn’t say that because I know Rice’s passing isn’t as good. I’ll say again, I don’t think 1 player is superior to the other this season. It’s closer than you think. If you prefer Rodri, understandably and I’m not going to argue. But to say he is head and shoulders above is just ignorant

On the Odegaard/Foden debate, let's not pretend like Odegaard hasn't ghosted in big games this season. Arsenal fans were even coming for him at some point. Saka has shown up more in such games till Porto.
Also, Foden is most definitely a more talented/skilled player than Odegaard. There's a reason Pep can play him all around, Odegaard is ineffective once he isnt in the middle.
Lastly, Odegaard is not starting in the middle for City. Lets be serious.

This argument turned into a lot of not this season when it was supposed to be this season. Odegaard and foden are very different players. De Bruyne is always the answer at cam... if uts not on current form/year
kdb has played what 14 games this season. Odegaard is better than Silva this season. foden had a better chance than every other city AM
Definitely Rodri over Rice. Rodri has been as good as he’s ever been this season, and Rice isn’t quite as good just yet but he’s also been great for Arsenal.
Also, Rodri stands out in a more talented squad.
When rodri plays we don't lose, when he's out we lose
Midfield, I’ll definitely go for:
Start: Odegaard -> he’s absolutely brilliant this season (and last season), his work rate, creativity, skills, availability. He deserves to be starter
Bench: KDB -> still the best among all in overall but i chose him as supersubs because if odegaard got stuck, he could be the changemaker, which I dont think Odegaard could do that
Sell: he still has good price, he has been considered to move on since last summer anyways so, I’ll sell him.
