Zone 5 New York. Glorious first measurable snowfall of an inch. Just enough to transform the park with the majestic tall pines into a winter wonderland. The snowfall is the second latest first snowfall on record. The snowfall whlie not disruptive has instilled the holiday spirit.
I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada and we have received our first snowfall, temperature fluctuate between 4 and 7 degrees Celsius although not unusually warm. My son and family are moving to Calgary Alberta from Vancouver BC where the province is struggling with now 3 more atmospheric rivers, yes rivers of water in the sky that have dumped rain deluge causing major flooding of many cities.Roadway that give access to the province had been washed away and closed access to and from the province. Luckily they managed to open some highways so essential travel only can move (their furniture van can bring their furniture). They are flying to Calgary the next week, as they would not have been able to drive. This has been a horrendous time for the people of Vancouver and surrounding lower mainland. So the weather has taken a turn everywhere. I am happy my family will now be within a few hours of us. But I pray for all those who have lost everything to the weather and it has not stopped. So between the wildfire and hot weather in the summer months 30 Celsius plus and now the rivers in the sky It is a time that is unpredictable and unprecedented.
im also on the other side of the water. 4 degrees today but feels like 3. No snow as yet and not forecast. But it has been the most glorious, crisp bright and colourful Autumn here which we are all thankful for.
Zone 8, coastal NC. We have had a very warm fall. There was a couple of cold nights (low 30s). And a couple of frosts. Everyone here grows collards and we all prefer they experience a couple of frosts. Frost makes them sweeter and more tender. We rarely have severe weather before Christmas. Our winters crank up Jan through March. I was 68 this year and I have started hiring help on a lot of ladder involved chores.
I agree with you it has been very unusual weather. Here where I live is 7a and today we just planted 500 tulips. We have been storing them in the refrigerator and decided since it has been so nice outside we would get them in the ground. It's crazy we put up our Christmas decorations outside and planted tulips. I am from Fries VA garden zone 6b…it’s been in the 40’s during the day and 20’s during the nights…we already had many many frosty mornings…it’s supposed to warm up to high 50’s and 60 this week so hopefully I can get finished on some bulb planting and mulching this week…

I'm in the Bay Area in California, zone 10a. Today the temp is 71 degrees and my plants are very confused. My fuchsias are blooming and my plants never looked better. I just came in from watering my garden. I agree with you, I'm very concerned because of our drought. Hopefully we'll have a rainy December. Happy holidays!
Zone 6b east of Pittsburgh PA. We had a very late frost this year. Yesterday we had about an inch of snow, but it’s gone now. The grommet Idea is wonderful for those outside wreathes. May I just say you are very wise to know you’re still capable of climbing and hanging those wreathes, but opt to let someone else do the job. I’m 58 and keep myself in pretty good shape (walking and yoga). However, I tripped outside at the end of September-fell flat on my sidewalk. Luckily my face stopped an inch from the cement, but I’m still in PT and taking anti-inflammatory meds, it’s really taking a long time to heal, possibly another month or two! 😫 My new mantra is ‘careful-don’t fall’! Happy -safe- decorating!!
I live in Lubbock, Texas. It is zone 7. It is currently 73 degrees with no freeze in sight. It is extremely dry. I am looking forward to a freeze and definitely some moisture. I can’t remember ever having a freeze this late in the season.
We finally had a good rain yesterday in s.e. N.C. but our Fall has been beautiful and our leaves have lasted so long. Our neighbor has a Japanese maple that we are still enjoying. When the sun shines through it it looks like it is aflame. My daughter in love has a similar hat and you both wear it well.
I'm a zone 8a in Virginia Beach,Va. For us it seems like the temperature is always waxing and waning. On Sunday it was around 70 degrees. Today it is 50. A lot of my neighbors decided to mow their lawns on final time before winter. Not me I did water my plants because we have been A little dry. Then took a walk and enjoyed the rest of the day.

We have to use fishing line on either side to prevent them from swinging in the wind...don't yours swing in the wind only hung from the top? Zone 7b - just north of Atlanta - a couple of cold nights but the next days are 55-70f days/35-50f nights - no rain until next Monday ... still so much to do in the garden - I have hydrangeas and camellias to plant, some hellebroes & hostas too ... plus a few japanese maples ... and bulbs - so many bulbs - thank goodness for my auger !!! Oh My ... I need to get busy !!!

Hi, Linda.I'm in South Louisiana, zone 8a. The temperature is 62, with humidity 74%. The low tonight suppose to get down to 44. It's also been dry here, very little rain. We probably will see some cold weather, around late January, or February. We have a long growing season. I'm still planting. Me and my husband, always start decorating for Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving. Anyway, take care, lovely lady. I love your style.

Here in south central PA, you never know what you’re going to get weather wise this time of year. Right now daytime temps are in the 40’s and nighttime is close to freezing. No snow yet. Definitely coat weather. I have really simplified my outdoor decor, but love seeing the houses of those who go all out Chevy Chase.
Zone 6 New England here. Dark, gray skies and cold for several days. Few snow showers….not enough to stick where I am, but my son who lives 45 minutes north of me has snow cover. Lost everything tender outside 2 weeks ago. Parsley and Swiss chard are my only crops left. Frost came about a month later this year though. Hoping for a mild winter, but the squirrels are very very fat.
Here in socal (Southern California) zone 9b/10a it’s been in the high70’s - low 80’s which is the norm. No rain in the forecast. So when you said your lack of rain is worrisome…..I totally understand. Water restrictions haven’t been implemented…..yet!!

I am in central Mississippi, zone 8a/8b. It has been so very dry here. One of the driest on record. We finally had 1 & 1/2 inches of rain last night. So grateful! As watering is taking a lot of time. I should have mulched up my leaves before it rained. Oops! Night temps have been up and down. Tonight 35, a few nights ago 42. So it have to keep my eye on Ms Myrtle Topiary. Sometimes she must come to the garage.
The house always looks wonderful dressed for Christmas. I'm in 7 on the shore in Maryland. It took awhile to get cold but it has been, hard frost came 7 to 10 days ago now, 47* right now at 5:32pm. Really dry here too. Thursday they're calling for 62*, I hope to get the rest of the yard cleaned up for winter.
We have had one rain in one year, talk about scary. It was mid-70s today. We have had a longish cold spell, a week and a half or so, but now it's warmer. High winds two days and that has dried everything out. In SoCal. Put up our wreaths with new black and red checked bows today. I tried to get my two older grandkids in their 20s now to love gardening but it didn't work. My 19 yr old granddaughter is my gardener and I am teaching her everything I know. I hope to do the same with her 8 year-old brother.
I'm in South-East Queensland, Australia. The weather has been uncharacteristically LOVELY! 😂 We typically start having temperatures above 35°C as we head toward summer but we've been enjoying so much rain so when the rain stops everything is looking gorgeous and our average temps have been under 30°C I've planted candy cane petunias and red petunias outside for the holidays and they look so lovely against all the lush green grass. 😁
I live in zone 5b. It is 71 today, and is supposed to be 70 again on Thursday, otherwise it’s been around mid 50s in low 60s. We finally had a hard freeze maybe last week. I really enjoy watching your channel. I primarily grow veggies, but I want to incorporate more pollinator plants. Your channel has provided some inspiration for some landscaping ideas to try maybe in the coming year.

I am in Indiana, Zone 6, and it has been mild here during the day in the 50’s, but we are dipping bellow freezing at night. I am still planting clearance bulbs because the ground has yet to freeze. It is my first year planting bulbs though so I’m not sure what is normal. Thanks for all your bulb planting videos. They have been a great resource.

I am in 8b and weather has been in late 50s, and rains are coming back tomorrow. It was lovely to have sunshine today. Some parts of Oregon will likely get snow, but we in the Willamette Valley likely won't have to worry about freezing until January though I check regularly on forecast because I have a lovely Meter Lemon tree I am babying and need to bring in if it gets below 30.
The whole country has had a spectacular fall this year from what I have seen in other youtube videos. Love your hat. The weather is weird for sure. Denver, 60 degrees today. My favorite Thanksgiving weather is an overcast day with a dusting of snow on the ground. In the '70s, when we had a hole in our jeans, we would take embroidery thread of different colors and outline the hole with the thread instead of sewing it up! Groovy hippy days.

Here, too, it's unusually warmer. Minneapolis, zone 4b. Today we're supposed to reach 50 degrees. We had a bit of snow a couple, three weeks ago, but that's long gone. I'm watering with my 1.5-gallon watering can because my hoses are drained and stored away for the season. I am not sure if this is a blessing or not. I had cataract surgery a week and a half ago so can't lift anything over 40 lbs. for several weeks, but by then the other eye will be corrected. I'm hoping snow will not be too heavy until I'm well healed. Then it'll be time to think about gardening again. ☺️

But we are expecting unseasonably warm temps later in the week of about 60. I planted the last of my bulbs yesterday, Drumstick Alliums, Peach Hyacinths, and some Asian Iris.

Central Illinois 5B. Tried to decorate pots with greens and the ground in them is frozen. Not good planning on my part. The lows here have been in the 20's. The highs range from 30's, 40'S, low 50's. Not much sun. Dreary skies. And yes the red bows look fantastic nxt to your house. And we feed our pumpkins and gourds to the cows that live behind our house. So convenient for us and the cows. Just a thought, brown, navy or deep purple bows might be nice. In PNW, we had many (10 or so) days under 40, so we had a fire in the fireplace in the morning. This week has been uncharacteristically warm, I think, has been 60ish with only about 51 to 55 at night. It's been cloudy with not much rain. We did get in the Pineapple Express that brought tons of rain when California got it's rain a few weeks ago.

Zone 7b - just north of Atlanta - a couple of cold nights but the next days are 55-70f days/35-50f nights - no rain until next Monday ... still so much to do in the garden - I have hydrangeas and camellias to plant, some hellebroes & hostas too ... plus a few japanese maples ... and bulbs - so many bulbs - thank goodness for my auger !!! Oh My ... I need to get busy !!!

Hi, Linda.I'm in South Louisiana, zone 8a. The temperature is 62, with humidity 74%. The low tonight suppose to get down to 44. It's also been dry here, very little rain. We probably will see some cold weather, around late January, or February. We have a long growing season. I'm still planting. Me and my husband, always start decorating for Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving. Anyway, take care, lovely lady. I love your style.
I live in zone 5b, northern Indiana. We have had snow flurries but the ground is too warm for it to stay. We have had a few days in the 20 and 30’s. Nights have been in the 20 and 30’s for a few weeks now. Enjoy your warmer temperatures!!

Here in south central PA, you never know what you’re going to get weather wise this time of year. Right now daytime temps are in the 40’s and nighttime is close to freezing. No snow yet. Definitely coat weather. I have really simplified my outdoor decor, but love seeing the houses of those who go all out Chevy Chase.

Zone 6 New England here. Dark, gray skies and cold for several days. Few snow showers….not enough to stick where I am, but my son who lives 45 minutes north of me has snow cover. Lost everything tender outside 2 weeks ago. Parsley and Swiss chard are my only crops left. Frost came about a month later this year though. Hoping for a mild winter, but the squirrels are very very fat.

Here in socal (Southern California) zone 9b/10a it’s been in the high70’s - low 80’s which is the norm. No rain in the forecast. So when you said your lack of rain is worrisome…..I totally understand. Water restrictions haven’t been implemented…..yet!!

I am in central Mississippi, zone 8a/8b. It has been so very dry here. One of the driest on record. We finally had 1 & 1/2 inches of rain last night. So grateful! As watering is taking a lot of time. I should have mulched up my leaves before it rained. Oops! Night temps have been up and down. Tonight 35, a few nights ago 42. So it have to keep my eye on Ms Myrtle Topiary. Sometimes she must come to the garage.
The house always looks wonderful dressed for Christmas. I'm in 7 on the shore in Maryland. It took awhile to get cold but it has been, hard frost came 7 to 10 days ago now, 47* right now at 5:32pm. Really dry here too. Thursday they're calling for 62*, I hope to get the rest of the yard cleaned up for winter.
We have had one rain in one year, talk about scary. It was mid-70s today. We have had a longish cold spell, a week and a half or so, but now it's warmer. High winds two days and that has dried everything out. In SoCal. Put up our wreaths with new black and red checked bows today. I tried to get my two older grandkids in their 20s now to love gardening but it didn't work. My 19 yr old granddaughter is my gardener and I am teaching her everything I know. I hope to do the same with her 8 year-old brother.
I'm in South-East Queensland, Australia. The weather has been uncharacteristically LOVELY! 😂 We typically start having temperatures above 35°C as we head toward summer but we've been enjoying so much rain so when the rain stops everything is looking gorgeous and our average temps have been under 30°C
I've planted candy cane petunias and red petunias outside for the holidays and they look so lovely against all the lush green grass. 😁

I live in zone 5b. It is 71 today, and is supposed to be 70 again on Thursday, otherwise it’s been around mid 50s in low 60s. We finally had a hard freeze maybe last week. I really enjoy watching your channel. I primarily grow veggies, but I want to incorporate more pollinator plants. Your channel has provided some inspiration for some landscaping ideas to try maybe in the coming year.

I am in Indiana, Zone 6, and it has been mild here during the day in the 50’s, but we are dipping bellow freezing at night. I am still planting clearance bulbs because the ground has yet to freeze. It is my first year planting bulbs though so I’m not sure what is normal. Thanks for all your bulb planting videos. They have been a great resource.
Here in zone 6a Connecticut we had our first snow flurries for a few hours with temp in the 30s. Perfect "transition" day to put away all the fall decor and get ready to start Christmas decorating tomorrow.

Our weather in zone 6b Wichita KS has been almost 20 degrees above our normal of 51 as a high many days. We have had a few nights with a hard freeze though but could also use some rain.

I’m in zone 5. It rained all morning and afternoon on Thanksgiving. Today it feels colder then it is because it’s so windy. I will wait till this next weekend to do outside decor, it’s supposed to warm up a bit and not windy.

I am in 8b and weather has been in late 50s, and rains are coming back tomorrow. It was lovely to have sunshine today. Some parts of Oregon will likely get snow, but we in the Willamette Valley likely won't have to worry about freezing until January though I check regularly on forecast because I have a lovely Meter Lemon tree I am babying and need to bring in if it gets below 30.
The whole country has had a spectacular fall this year from what I have seen in other youtube videos. Love your hat. The weather is weird for sure. Denver, 60 degrees today. My favorite Thanksgiving weather is an overcast day with a dusting of snow on the ground. In the '70s, when we had a hole in our jeans, we would take embroidery thread of different colors and outline the hole with the thread instead of sewing it up! Groovy hippy days.

I’m in Southwestern Ontario Canada. I’m in zone 7a and it is 7:15 a.m.. Monday morning. The temperature is 28 degrees and we had a couple of inches of snow over the weekend.
We’re in Hertfordshire in the UK and some areas have had a huge dump of snow. We had a very hard frost last night and I had to scrape the ice off of my car. Lots of people have had power cuts. Storm Arwen has a lot to answer to.

I'm in Western Mass. and we are now in a quite cool spell. Daily in the upper 30's or 40's in the daytime. Down to 20 at night. Finally had a strong freeze about a week or so ago.
Vancouver Island, Canada. In the 40s with rain rain rain. Zone 7; I am by luck, in an area that has not had floods. We have ALL the rain from North America.
Here, too, it's unusually warmer. Minneapolis, zone 4b. Today we're supposed to reach 50 degrees. We had a bit of snow a couple, three weeks ago, but that's long gone.
I'm watering with my 1.5-gallon watering can because my hoses are drained and stored away for the season.
I am not sure if this is a blessing or not. I had cataract surgery a week and a half ago so can't lift anything over 40 lbs. for several weeks, but by then the other eye will be corrected. I'm hoping snow will not be too heavy until I'm well healed. Then it'll be time to think about gardening again. ☺️

I'm in zone 6A, southwest Ohio. We had our first frost a couple of weeks ago, the past few days the highs have been in the low 40's which is normal for us. But we are expecting unseasonably warm temps later in the week of about 60. I planted the last of my bulbs yesterday, Drumstick Alliums, Peach Hyacinths, and some Asian Iris.
I am in Missouri, zone 6b. The leaves were late in falling but are finally all down. I ordered and planted my Brecks bulbs after watching your video. We’ve had some freezing nights but one day this week it will be 68 degrees.

We have snow at the house but not in town. The house is a 30 min drive north of Lund in Sweden where we have an appartment. Tonight it’s supposed to go down to -10 at our house. Very cold for beeing November here!!

Just a thought, brown, navy or deep purple bows might be nice. In PNW, we had many (10 or so) days under 40, so we had a fire in the fireplace in the morning. This week has been uncharacteristically warm, I think, has been 60ish with only about 51 to 55 at night. It's been cloudy with not much rain. We did get in the Pineapple Express that brought tons of rain when California got it's rain a few weeks ago.

Like your husband I also had knee replacement 3 months. While I am doing great I still need help getting things out, so that has been my weekend. While very enjoyable, it’s also a mess. But love getting everything ready for Christmas! I live in Pearl, MS zone 8a.
