@@slowmercy69 The DLC felt more like a springboard into the sequel that never happened. They continue the cliffhanger ending but leave it on another cliffhanger.
Actually, the Prince in this game is a nice character. He just doesn't care, doesn't plan anything. Lost is family when he was young and thought that attachment to some cause or belief is nothing but a way to waste your life for somebody else. The dialogues in the game are really good. The little spats of him and Elika about gods, morals and life are amazing.
Robert Maxim i just playing this game now for second time (just to play some older games) and i was playing two thrones before (also second time so i knew this games) and i played tt without using combos cause i don't have oportunities to usem them but in this pop i liked how this combos look so I'm always using them not just pressing square for sword or triangle for elika (I'm playing on ps3) I like both systems but I think that in pop from 2008 more suits to game than that one in previous games You have options but you don't have oportunities to use them
Completely fell in love with this game, from the combat, to the story, to the music, to the lovely environment. True combat can be kinda tedious but it's also very unique an entertaining. Elika is actually a secondary character that u care about an isnt annoying like u would think. Sucks we couldnt get a real sequel tho an was stuck with some half-ass dlc
This game is so underrated by fans of the PoP games. Reviewers gave this good reviews, but whenever I see people talk about this game 99% of the time it's negative.
Xbox 360 and Ps3 is still the current gen... and its not going to die any time soon. Especially with the lack of games for the next-gen consoles. Give next-gen time to grow their gaming library in 1-2 years, then yes xbox 360 and ps3 will eventually die out. I have to ask though, since the game is on sale for 2.49$ on steam, is it worth getting?
I really thought this game was bad. First of all you are not a prince, second you can't die, third...it's just a duel simulator. I was bored halfway through, but everyone has it's own opinion.
Bought this game years ago and finally got around to playing it through. I don't know where the reviewer came up with the 8 hr. figure: I think it took me at least twenty. And the ending was rather morbid and unexpected but I liked it.
I loved this game. I would recommend it to anyone. Beautiful art style, huge exploration, tons of gameplay, Dark Souls style boss fights. This is what Ubisoft does best, and they did it in this game.
Harith Azmi yeah, this game had potential to be a lot more awesome. I wish POP WW is remade with this kind of GFX. Dahaka would look amazing in these textures.
Where does the time go? I played this game when I was in 8th grade all those years ago, a time when I was going through a lot of change. It was gorgeous back then and it still looks gorgeous today. Ah, glories of the past...
Man..this game grabbed me by the feels and dragged me where it wanted There are moments when music and the visuals alone makes your heart melt At the time i was really sensitive Considering the fact that i played this game 3-4 years ago Can't remember correctly Who else cried during the ending when..you know? That ending tossed my heart out of the window, because they killed YOUR COMPANION like c'mon Times like these makes you curl up in a corner and stay there for a week
Got this game today, not sure why I waited so long this thing is downright beautiful, the engine is marvelous. Hard to believe it came out in 08. Wish Ubisoft kept this Prince series going
If you want to amp up the difficulty go for the achievement Be gentle with her (you have to complete the game with fewer then 100 saves from Elika). Or do the speed run achievements like vale runner.
I'm still waiting on that sequel. I think AC has had enough spotlight for a while now... I wanna see what happened after they walked into the darkness. Sure the Epilouge Dlc explains that a bit but i want a propper sequel to the new franchise. NO not forgotten sands. I somewhat hated that game (tho the wii version is tolerable). This franchise has been on hold for 8 years now... Time to resume the PoP franchise!
i played and enjoyed all the prince of Persia games amazing franchise and i agree 100 percent bring it back Ubisoft they should put Assassin creed on hold and bring back prince of Persia.
15 years while 12 years of me knowing that game and still loving it Never had problems with story, graphics, not dying, combat... Oh, sequel, comic, wiki entry, anything if you dont count epilogue and nintendo game, just one thing how to discover how it all ended (only if it is happy end)
It's so sad that because this game didn't sell very well we'll likely never see the continuation of this story. Such a beautiful and artistic game. I honestly loved every minute of it.
I absolutely loved this game! The story, art, character design and physics are awesome. BUT WHY...WHY was the combat so awful? Like he said in the review, you cannot die and what kind of video game has no game over? And why is every battle 1 vs 1? I think Prince of Persia could have been a huge success if only the developers built a solid combat engine.
I agree 100% best graphics of all the POP games. But the combat was so slow like an old mortal combat game, it was pathetic!!! It's also the same thing I hate about the assassin creed franchise, and they never address this problem..👊👍
My dad has this game. I don't think he ever played it and quickly forgot that he even had it. He loaned me his Playstation 3 for a bit after I had moved out of my Mom's apartment and I found this game among his other Playstation 3 games. I thought it looked fun and gave it a shot. I cleared one of the four main stages before I quit. If you're into games with long gameplay this game would be for you.
The game is amazing! I 100% it all the way in my first playthrough......whenever i remember the alchemist's scream when elika kills him still gives me goosebumps till this day
I know the question 2 years old, but I thought you might still be interested. So, a texture pop in is when textures are not loaded in time or not loaded correctly low resolution images appear. This can remain for several seconds until the final texture loads. So you look at an in game wall, and at first, it does not have the proper texture it should have, it is just a smooth wall, without the details (cracks, dirt on it, rugged surface) hope it helps :)
@AskiKayaman i have the same issue, however i still havnt finished it. i did have more fun with ''the forgotten sands'' only issue i have with that one is the story, sand monsters, recall glowing sand, but it isnt the sands of time? but some other magical sand. i dont get it.
I'm not 100% on board with this game, but this art style is absolutely timeless. You can look at this game 5 years later, and it still looks beautiful.
My only complaint about this game was how little combat there really was. Pretty soon I was intentionally slowing down and waiting for enemies to spawn so I could fight them. It's a hit and miss game, an awkward phase that showed great potential, and like the reviewer said it would have made an excellent sequel
Is this game better on a certain system? Like PS3 over 360 or vice-versa? I'm buying one of those soon, and I still haven't decicded. Also, please don't say buy a 360 because of FPS, shooters just aren't my thing one bit.
I had this game I wish I never sold it but w/e im going to get again but is this prince of persia better then prince of Persia forgotten sands? because I haven't played that one

because of prince of persia you can now play AC series so why the hell some people are giving negative feedback to this franchise especially POP 4 we hope that prince of persia 6 will come back to make this beautiful franchise alive again
btw youtube users i want ask something has the video screen got bigger and wider ? cause it's making the video quality less detailed and i don't know how to set it back

Same thing as Shadow of the Colossus. This is a piece of art, rather than a video game. One of the best cell-shading graphics so far, amazing story, awesome soundtrack, and an unexpected beautiful ending make this the best of the series for me.

@@A203D Damn 💀 Never got around to watch the DLC on YT. So they put a cliffhanger ending in a cliffhanger ending
The most beautiful game graphics i've ever seen since 2008, not like the next gen games that's been trying hard to be realistic.
I wish Prince of Persia 2008 had a sequel, now its all about the assassins creed :/
Ps. Assassins Creed is not bad its just...it became generic, like CoD in a way
Dusan Ivic Yeah pretty generic i get what you mean. AC would have lived if they remade AC1, no one would forget that legend.
+Davorn Urynmar (Davo) I actually bought ac1 recently and I have to say, it is a badass game and you can see the influences from PoP
Wtf have u not played modern games lol

Yes it is
Way too many people skipped over this game, its my favorite Prince
Played this two years ago now finished it aug2013 it was a good game really wish there was a sequel.
My only complaint about this game was how little combat there really was. Pretty soon I was intentionally slowing down and waiting for enemies to spawn so I could fight them. It's a hit and miss game, an awkward phase that showed great potential, and like the reviewer said it would have made an excellent sequel
they had to stick to the roots. the originals also had less enemies and more on exploring
Is this game better on a certain system? Like PS3 over 360 or vice-versa? I'm buying one of those soon, and I still haven't decicded.
Also, please don't say buy a 360 because of FPS, shooters just aren't my thing one bit.
I've just gone through it once again and loved it all over again :D
worth renting for 3days or no?
can u go to places you hav already visited?

One of the few occasions IGN reviewer was more relatable and rational.
I actually love this game a lot despite it being too easy, it's an experience every game needs to have at least once.
Some parts of the game struggled me a bit especially the green plate .
I've only played this (halfway through unlocking the entire map) this year, and i think it's fantastic. The 1v1 fights are reminiscent of the DOS POP era, and even the core of the combat system in this is based on that.
It basically took all the platforming goodness of the Sands Of Time trilogy, and simplified the combat even further than they did (between Two Thrones and Warrior Within). In The Warrior Within, a lot of complaints came up coz "there was too much combat." The Two Thrones has lesser combat, but the complaint still pops up noticeably, but in a lesser frequency.
So in a way, the combat here is the answer to that, but... we're human. Now we complain there isnt enough combat. I personally like the Shadow Of The Colossus type of scarcity of baddies to fight. Makes each fight actually feel special and memorable, rather than fighting endless waves of minions and grunts.
The semi-open world is a great addition to platforming maniacs, and the addition of the light seeds, i think, are a good way to encourage exploration in this semi-open world. The downside is that there isnt much after the light seeds have been collected, but then again there are tons to collect and honestly is enough to stretch the length of the game to acceptable levels.
As far as characters go, Etika is an instant favorite NPC, and the new prince is much more relatable as the original one.
Sound and Art styles are also some of the best i have come across in video games. I just like the way the game sounds and looks.
The controls are spot-on too. Well, for the most part. There are times the camera angles make you misread the direction to tilt the left analog, and you jump a wrong direction, but then there's Etika to fix that mistake.
The lack of difficulty is a hit or miss depending on who's playing the game, but i personally love it. It's a breath of fresh air when everything else i love nowadays have brutal difficulties (the likes of Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, Celeste, Super Hexagon, Cuphead, Dark Souls, etc.). It's basically just a different pacing, and still is somewhat similar to the rewind function in the Sands Trilogy, with unlimited sand. Also, Etika's saves is reminiscent of the brutal games' quick respawn system. Overall i just love how i dont have to get back to a spot before the boss or a platforming sequence. Just make me respawn right away, with the enemy back in full health.
Overall i think this game deserved a lot more positivity. Easily the best of the series for me even after only seeing half the game so far, and im sure i should be able to wrap up in less than a week of this awesome adventure title.
Havent found any flaws here, and even the aesthetics can still stand up to today's standards. 10/10 for me.
So who is this prince? Will this storyline be continued?
Best game in the series, this should be rated as a piece of art.
oh wow u talking about the 2-d one or the ps2 or xbox????
and the ending was surprising but it was what anyone would do after having played
from where?
We never found out if the Prince ever found his donkey.
Is this game before "the forgotten sands" or is it after that one?

for the story, the imagery, simply playing through it is a joy its self

Yes, there's a new one set in the Sand of Time universe coming out.
how long is it????????

I really miss this game 🥺
