Happy New Year! To clean the case and front of V-8000 use magic sponge, I clean it with magic sponge and it looks like new. P.S Send you an email few days ago :)
0h1200 dark brown sheet metal is inclined. With the K drive, it is sufficient to turn the white plastic cap over the capstan shaft until it becomes heavier (touching the capstan shaft), and then a further 1/4 turn to lift the permanent magnet of the flywheel from the enameled copper wire coils. There are at least 2 versions of the white plastic cap. With the black insert like here, and single peace with grease or without grease. I don't know whether this is self-lubricating plastic or whether the grease was forgotten in the factory. It can also be that someone greases a self-lubricating plastic afterwards. On the Hamburg subway, however, there are extra signs that the self-lubricating contact surfaces for the car bodies on the connecting bogie must not be greased under any circumstances. The squeaks are sometimes so loud that I have half of the car to myself. In the other half, the noise drowns out the good condition😉 of the bearings.
I'll have a look at that - thanks for the heads up. That top plastic adjuster on the capstan was dry on this one. Maybe they were worried about grease creep?
The jvc version of this can be really bad to it has a tray for vhs c i have one and it plays hifi sound but there is a picture issue. Some of these panasonics can have a basket issue to. I had an svhs I really liked but the basket bent and put stress on both motors causing it to fail.
I've been thinking of trying to get hold of a tray loading JVC or a Toshiba but maybe that's a step too far if they're not reliable. Parts are probably a pain to get hold of now too.
There are very few surface mount capacitors on this model like I say I have 3 of these decks & never had an issue with capacitors when they are working perfectly FF&RW is absolutely dead silent
That's really useful to know that there aren't many surface mount capacitors. I do need to tighten up the loading and lacing; the rewind and fast forward are super smooth if I advance the basket loading just a little further. Thank you very much for sharing.
A more sensible approach would have been to not even bother to make a dual loading mechanism, but I'm glad they did. Despite a lot of people preferring JVC, I found Panasonic S-VHS machines always performed better especially when it came to tape manipulation.
I have two of these machines and have no interest in getting rid of the either of them. Prosumer was a phrase that all the press used to use the price tag probably helped as well which was £2,000 😲
@@IncognitoChild Certainly, it was a solution for a problem that didn't existed. But the JVC used less moving parts to achieve the same goal. I always found the drop-out compensator on the Panasonics of that era to be more prone to display big white trails whereas the JVC masked them better.
strenuous work on that mechanism. almost a magician job.
Certainly is quite intensive but at least the mechanism is working well now. Just have to sort the electronics and it should be a great machine.

me alegro mucho que lo hayas podido solucionar saludos
Thank you - certainly getting there with this machine now. Quite labour intensive to fix too.

I found a place in California that still had some some how he said they were ordered years ago and then the customer never came in. @@MrBetaByte

Overkill is an understatement! JVC made a drawer loading mechanism that I believe was a much more sensible aproach.
That's good to know. I'm hoping to have a draw loading JVC or Toshiba on the channel soon.

@@UHF43 so would you say that was typical straight out the box or was it more down to wear in the tape path as time went by?
el teclado le hace falta limpieza
It turned out to be one of the ribbon cables not quite seating correctly.
