I love some of each! But I guess a good piece of cherry edges out the walnut by a bit.

They are both nice! I’m going with the cherry in this case. I rarely find cherry over 20” diameter. The width of the cherry slab is my reasoning.

That cherry is really nice but the little strip of sapwood around the edge of the walnut contrasts so much and looks really nice. I'm going to have to go with the walnut.

I personally favor the walnut by a hair. My bride says no contest - cherry all the way!
