One thing I have to mention, Cardinal Tetras are on the breaking point with 4-5 in numbers. They will be skittish at this low of numbers. Put them into a small tank like that and they will be really skittish. I had a school slowly dwindle in numbers over the years and reach that point. They were always hiding in the back of the tank behind plants. I brought their numbers up from 4 to 12 and they are confident once more. When I come near the tank to say hello, they come running to return the greeting. Oh, and they are in a 20 gallon planted tank.

The Aquatop aquariums are great. The filter output can be to much for some fish liked Bettas. I cut a rectangular piece of course filter media and attached to outlet. Perfect way to slow the flow! Also the LED light on the 5 gallon can be distracting if your sitting across the room from aquarium. I put a strip of black tape on light as a curtain. Works great! To cut down on brightness I covered a few LEDs. Looks amazing!

I found when keeping C. margaritatus Celestial pearl danio/galaxy rasbora that once the numbers dropped below maybe 5 or 6 they stopped doing okay. I started out with 8 or 9 and they did much better initially. They're shoalers rather than schoolers, and the males do tend to pick fights with each other and stress each other out. I strongly recommend keeping at least 8, preferably more. I think if I keep them again I want at least 10 to be safe. Fortunately they're so tiny you could do that in a 5.5gallon if you don't keep any other fish in there. Don't even reach an inch, and the bioload each fish puts on the tank is tiny. Buying 10 isn't cheap, just to warn you. They aren't super expensive for fish, but they're more expensive than a lot of small common species, and you do need a fair sized group to keep them happy.

Hi. 😊 No fish in the world should live in only 5 gallons. In my opinion, only shrimp and snails go in this size. Maybe a Betta but even that is almost too small.
For the sake of the animals you should reconsider.

It wasn't mentioned in this video, but your older video 10 Best Fish for 5 gallon Aquarium recommended guppies.
I just started out in the hobby and i didn't have success keeping guppies in a 5 gallon. I had 3 female guppies in a planted tank and pretty soon there was clear signs of aggression.
I ended up rehoming the guppies to someone who had a bigger tank, just so they would have more room to themselves.

Have a "Goofy" time. I'm just starting up my 2 new tanks after 20 years of absence from the hobby. I'm doing a dark start for one planted Guppy tank. And one for a planted Endlers tank. I'm running with an undergravel filter and aquascaped tanks. I had that setup during the 70's and had it running for 20 years with minimal maintenance and good water values. Deep substrate, a lot of plats and a balanced amount of fish. I prefer to get a seasoned tank rather than a cycled tank. That means that both plats and fish are thriving. Wish me good luck. I have a neighbour that has promised me some old water with outsquished sponges in it to help me get started. Regards to Lisa also. A Swedish guy.

Lisa, I think those are Least Rasboras, not Chili. Both are perfect nanofish, easy to keep, interesting to see, tiny, but LFS keep mistaking them.
Chili has a smaller main spot and more red, while more common Least Rasbora has an exclamation mark on each side.

I have to admit-I did a bit of a happy clap when I saw the CPDs in Lisa's nano. It was love at first sight for me with them, and I currently have seven of my own. I need to pick up a few more to even out the male/female ratio (I bought out what the fish store I got them from had, and there are more males to females) , but unfortunately none of the local places seem to carry them. Any suggestions on reputable places that carry them online by chance?
I might have to look into a few of the other nanos at some point when I get vacant room in one of my tanks (hopefully that won't be for a while for my current fishy residents' sake). The fancy endlers are especially adorable. A lot of local places tend to carry them, so I wouldn't have a hard time finding them at least!
On the tanks specifically-glad to see they still look as fantastic as they did during the setup videos. Looks like the new residents are very happy with the digs 😺👍🐟🐠💓

Wish I had a store like that nearby! Everytime I see white clouds in a video, I can't help but feel that cameras just don't do them justice. I have some in an aquarium with a black background, and the colors on them pop out so much more than pictures and videos may suggest.

Yayyyyy!!! Peas!! Can't wait to see what you're going to do with them! Probably set up an amazing jungle tank? And your Endlers are stunning! I have a brand new 30-inch long 6 gallon tank rimless that was a gift. I set it up with shrimp aquasoil planning on maturing it for shrimp and then I thought oh my God I can't wait all those months just looking at an empty tank so I'm going to give it what 6 weeks or so? However long it takes to cycle and then I want to put these kind of endless in it too it's just an adorable tank and I love it and that's why I was particularly drawn to watching this video because even though my tank is 30 in long it's only 6 in wide and 8 in deep but it is awesome for nano fish! Keep up the great work I'm a true fan!

Love all your planted tank set up in this video. They look so simple but so unreal. We can tell that the fish really enjoy lives in it.

I've been thinking about CPD's! Are their stomachs supposed to look like that, though? They looked a bit sunken in, to me, but maybe that's because I'm more used to platys, for example...?

I have 3 Pea Poofers and 3 Endlers in a 10 and they all get along GREAT. I have this one Utah Rock in their with some pretty sizable holes and it’s so cute when they go inside and poke their heads out🥹

Looking up House of Tropicals I realized it's about an hour from me here in NOVA, and I thought, "Eh, can I go that far?" And then I hear you say you're traveling more than two hours. :)

This is interesting! I'm planning on buying a tank of about 18 gallons (70 L), and the two species that I want in it is on this list, the Pearl Danios and the Endlers Livebearer. Plus some "Blue diamond" shrimp. I though about 8-10 of each would be plenty enough, but now I realize there is plenty of space for another kind of fish as well, as long as they too stay pretty small and cute. Any thoughts from anyone with more knowledge about the subject? Some neons would of course go well here, but I'd like something that you don't see in just about every tank, but still with some nice colors or patterns. Would appreciate some intput, thanks!

Bear in mind that if you get female Endlers they'll breed. And then you can easily end up wondering what to do with a colony of 100 endlers of varying sizes, so have a plan for what to do with the babies. Though I suppose the pearl danios may solve that issue by eating the baby endlers. Not sure how well the pearl danios will get along with the endlers - they're fast swimmers that are a lot bigger than the endlers and there's a possibly they might get nippy with the endlers fins if they're bored or don't have enough schoolmates. Or outcompete the shrimp for food. They will definitely eat baby shrimp. Endler's and shrimp do well together.

the galaxy rasbora(CPD) and chilis are awesome...you may want to look for emerald dwarf rasbora as another nano fish or licorice gourami or sparkling gourami are also fun

I friggin' love Endler's! There are so manny colors and patterns to enjoy, they are not shy at all, and if given the room they are easy to breed since they don't eat their young if there's enough room and food for all of them. They also like nibling on algae, so that's handy if you tend to be a bit forgetful (do try to remember to feed your fish though!) On top of that they're also friendly community fish, I've personally been able to keep them with a beta.

Thanks for sharing. Your suggestions for nano aquariums are very sound. I would like to know if there are any other types of fish that would make great tankmates with the Pea Puffers. How many can safety be placed in a 5 1/2 gallon aquarium? How many in a 10 gallon?

I really enjoyed this video. Finding nano fish can be tough. I like your choices. I have Endler guppies, a pleco, Betta fish and Gambusia fish. The Gambusias are by themselves in a tank cause they can get be too fin-nippy and aggressive towards other fish. I have Ramshorn/Mystery/Pond snails too. Lots of plants. I put my Bettas in side by side clear tanks so they can visit through the glass. At night, 'curtains' go between the tanks for sleep-time. Also, my Bettas do well on small granules (guppy food) rather than the large pellets. USA
