the egg likes how this isn't the first 'different' run. Dusttale not being the first alternate timeline within its own AU is how it should really be. Sans doesn't really seem like the kind of guy to jump to any 'solution' like that right off the bat. The entire reason he fought frisk in undertale is because, y'know, they were going to *erase the entire world*. He has to be pushed to take such drastic measures. He doesn't immediately go full throttle based on a hunch.
I love the implication that this isn't the first thing he tried, and I feel like it's the only right choice. Sans wouldn't kill a bunch of people as his first plan. The whole point of Dusttale is the desperation of it all, and this perfectly highlights that.
I really LOVE how sans doesn't just go apeshit, he tries different methods, but when they dont work, he slowly loses his sanity more, more, and more. and thats what i love about this AU lol

Well I mean, he definitely didn't try COTV, because I'm pretty sure the human dies in all versions of Phase 3 in that AU, but still, the point still stands.

I love that before sans's rampage in some time zones he tried to come up with different ways and ideas to stop you. This is HOW a Dusttale should start! I like Sans here, his lines are well written and seem genuine. Him not telling so straight forward about his intentions also is a nice touch. Would like to give a credit about the general vector in your dusttale's narrative, with multiple, more developed than usually characters' interactions and their possible demonstrations as a whole. People approve more of characters' canon accuracy, though the possibilities you could make with these characters whether canon or not exactly is the thing that seems way more important to me and which is exactly what your take is actually so good for.

@@kairoprovidence9739 funnily Evan's dusttale didn't even have a hint on Gaster. If I'm not missing anything these takes must be Undertale Collapsed (which is cancelled) and DTGE/DTLG (which is justified since it's literally the last breath).
If there's anything about dusttale, sans is the most out of character but if he were to follow along dusttale's actual story then this is the most accurate reason why sans decides to. I really enjoyed this. This was cool. ❤
Y'know... It's kinda funny that Sans got a slash in the chest despite getting punched during the 200th run. Another interesting thing to note that DTBL had a failed run of COTV happen during the god knows how many times Frisk/Chara/The Player restarted. Gaster doesn't have any presence in this AU, so maybe DTBL's COTV had Alphys play Gaster's role instead? She's the one who made Flowey and messed around with determination in canon, so she's the best person around to use the DT extractor, and might be capable of pulling something off when Sans and Pap continues into Hotland with Mettaton's help... Although, honestly, I just want Alphys and Mettaton to actually play a role in DT AU for once other than dying offscreen.
