I too visited home, Israel, for Rosh Hashanah and Oct 7th, and it was so healing to be with our people, where the mourning and traditions are shared. 🤍💙 and I adore Fleur!

Wow, what a conversation, and what an opening! It makes me sad to see North American Jews who don’t feel a connection to Israel, or prioritize their social acceptance over a familial bond with Israeli Jews. I didn’t fully grasp this until Oct. 7th. I thought I could separate the Israeli experience from my own connection to Judaism as an English speaker in Canada, but the close feeling of grief after Oct. 7th showed me that we are one people. I really loved these insights into Israel and I hope you do more podcasts like this, and share about your trips to Israel in the future.

Your words are very true. Praying every waking moment for the hostages to be reunited with their families, and for the IDF heroes to be safe while protecting all of Israel and the free world. Israel’s mistake sometimes is over explaining which at times sounds like over proving and over apologising. When Israel’s actions are louder than words, we still get the hate, but we also command respect eg: so many Arabs who celebrated Israel post what had to happen to nasrallah.

Gaza is ours, tho....why would saudis create a Dubai for them? It's ancient levantine, not egyptian/Arab. It's ancient Israel...hence its Hebrew name...

Many of us Jews who have been part of social justice movements were there because of Tikkun Olam, not out of self-hatred. Many of us already knew of the anti-Semitism on the Left but believed it was important to still do the right thing and contribute to social justice.

just one thing tho, "Palestinian" isn't a thing, so stop saying that. Palestine should not have self-determination because it doesn't exist. literally stop saying that, it is weak and foolish. if they don't want to live peacefully in Israel, then they can move to Jordan.

Plaestianins are not allowed to move to Jordan because of Black September.

Israel not thinking about a communication strategy has left Jews in the West very vulnerable to antisemitism. Diasporic Jews always support Israel yet it has become evident that the care is not mutual. I wonder if Israel's arrogance is also based on the secure support they've received from Diasporic Jews. I wonder if this support will wane given Israel's actions during this time.

It’s not cause of Israel, it’s the government’s supporting the Nazi ideology of the 1930s. Where I am is really bad, but it will change if our opposition government is elected next year. In America, people have to wait another month.

Your intro was informative, but you do not need to steal Palestinian land from the rightful descendents of the Canaanites (from which the Jewish faith emerged) - you can adhere to Jewish custom without genocide.
