- For the first time ever, exclusively learn in-depth about what was planned for the cancelled ‘Jurassic World Survivor’ video game. After Cryptic Studios Seattle closed the game was passed to Splash Damage Games and saw an overhaul of its concept as development continued.
The game would have launched on PC and consoles, focusing on custom character survivors left behind on Isla Nublar, post the Jurassic World incident. Gameplay revolved around the struggle to survive and eventually find rescue alongside all your favorite Jurassic Park dinosaurs, poachers, BioSyn, and more! I really hate that this franchise has so many missed opportunities... Especially with gaming. It's so annoying that the stuff that actually feels like Jurassic Park ends up getting replaced with more safe options. The fact that Universal has cancelled accurate fan games multiple times is astounding. Universal can and should do better.
No, they can't and will not better, Universale have drag in the dust the "Park" franchise since for too long now.
They would derserve, that us fan, riot them to punish them for mocking us, disrepect us and not giving us the "offers" equal to our "demands".

Worth noting that Alien: Isolation was directly inspired by Jurassic Park, not just Alien, according to the developers. Why we haven't gotten a proper JP game like that is so bizarre.

Two things from the Jurassic park/World franchise that I will never get over canceling are Kenner's Ultimasaurus and the ps2 game Jurassic park Survival.
I would have spent hours playing Jurassic Park Survival on my PS2 if it had been released back in 2001. 😢

Great video. I'd love to see a 1994 post Jurassic Park game, which could still include Biosyn's corporate espionage attempts following up on Nedry's demise. It would make sense that they'd want to seize the opportunity after the 1993 disaster. This would appease new and old fans, bringing back the nostalgic aesthetic. One can dream!

I've actually wanted a movie that was pre-1993 that was more of a spy thriller. About a failed attempt to get the embryo's before relying on Nedry. But they'll never make it unless it's full of dinosaurs, and in such a movie dinosaurs would at best make a cameo.
I want a game like this, only make the multiplayer optional. I prefer story driven single player games, personally.

Shame that it was never finished, it could've been one of the best Jurassic games...
It's really not surprising that they cancelled this though, considering that Universal has shown again and again and again that post Jurassic World they're only interested in low effort, low cost (for them) games and products that they can either perpetually monetize or overcharge for upfront. Any of the exceptions to this, where we actually got something decent from the license like Camp Cretaceous or Aftermath, only happened when someone other than Universal was footing a significant portion of the bill. And this likely isn't going to change without some major shakeups, so I have little faith in the currently unannounced games they've hinted at being anything too worthwhile either, unless someone's paying them for exclusivity on those games.

This is *_JUICY!_* Man, it makes me wish that this game had become a reality even _more!_ It's *strange* that Universal seems to think the "Jurassic" franchise video game money's only in park builders & mobile games. Those _are_ fine & dandy, don't get me wrong (😉), but something like "Survivor" would add much-needed _variety_ to the video game realm of "Jurassic."

Universal can’t handle video games. Horrible collections, overflowing garbage mobile games and even canceled a free fan game 🙄. But this just seems too big a scope for this to be pulled off properly

After the successful reveal trailer of Jurassic Park Survival . Hopefully this could return in some way , shape , or form. That way it won't interfere with the events of Camp Cretaceous. Perhaps on the other side of the island.
I am worried that Jurassic fans are becoming fatigued by Universal, because they aren’t delivering the fans what they want (from a macro perspective). Yes, we keep getting cool but very niche content; such as, the SD fan experience. But, the overall delivery has been underwhelming and not really what the fans are asking for. If Universal does not deliver what fans want, like this game for example, then I don’t think fans will support projects they didn’t ask for. This is kind of evident from the recent crowdfund. Am I right to be worried about this fatigue?
I know it’s unlikely, but I think it’s possible to bring this game back and have it set after the events of jw dominion .

Unfortunatly, it seems that it is something that we fans will have to do ourselfes since Universale are n*zis against JP fans.
It's been decades I search for a team that would remake LostWorld Ps1 but still no one are doing it sadly, though to me it should be the most prior game to do/remake because we lack terribly of dark/adventur/plarformers like TLWPs1, to much park builder and survival dino games.

I would definitely love to hear something about the canceled Jurassic Park game, Jurassic Park Survivor. I always wondered what happened to it.
I have been a fan of Jurassic Park/World since I was 10 or 11 years old and saw Jurassic Park, dinosaurs were something I loved even before that so seeing the movies come to the Big Screen was a dream come true. When the first game came out I saved my pocket money so I could buy it, I then played it till it broke. Once the second movie came out I eagerly awaited a new game, but got nothing. Slowly years passed and the games stopped coming to the platforms I played on until Jurassic World Evolution, I bought it but I will admit after a while, I stopped playing it since park-building games weren't my type of game. Finding out that they had two games in development but cancelled them is a kick to the balls, watching this video makes it even worse as it is the type of game I have been dreaming about from this franchise. It has everything I want in a game but will never get to play it. Watching the 30th anniversary come and go with a whimper makes me wonder if they even care for the franchise and the fans other than to line their pockets.
They should really make a VR survival game You know, see how long you can survive or even make a story of some other unfortunate person that got trapped on the island.

I like Jurassic world alive a lot, same with evolution 2. But a horror game like last of us, free roam isla sorna, fight, sneak, and outwit both ingen/biosyn and the dinos.
Great video Is a shame a game with a story like Jurassic world surviver got cancelled, It would of been a fresh start from building your own theme park , And the fact that you can create your own character, This game would of awesome especially for players that like to role play , I think with the new movie that came out they should make a Jurassic World survival game , but in the city
I have to say, the bio hazard faction guys have the right idea.
Edit: I just thought of a cool idea for a JP game, it can be a PvPvE type mode, where two teams say the military or ingen or eco terrorist or biosyn or someone have to fight each other, doing objectives while having to fight off dinosaurs, and depending on what dinosaurs appear, say T-rex or Spinosaurus or some big Dino forcing both teams to work together or die.
"It was cancelled due use of weapons"... what the fuck does that even mean? Is universal aware that all of the movies have weapons in it anyway? I really don't get the point but after what happened in Fallen Kingdom it's clear that they were heading into a very different route with the Dinosaurs being more than just creatures that eat people (almost giving them rights for being living creatures) which is an interesting idea yes but was handled poorly in my opinion. Same reason the horror elements are pretty much gone and I would assumed the plans they had for the sequels is what ultimately made them end up cancelling the survival horror/fps games altogether.
Aside from Jurassic World, notice how the next two movies avoided the Dinosaurs from being killed by firearms. It’s very similar to how the OG trilogy didn’t show any dinosaurs get shot and killed by firearms.
@@RepublicTrooper125 I know, it's kind of a weird argument cuz Dinosaurs are seen eating people multiple times throughout the 6 films, yet they had trouble killing them off, and it's even more weird cuz multiple Jurassic games from the 90s feature firearms against dinosaurs (with the excuse that they're actually tranquilizers), I honestly don't know what's with the execs at Universal and their mindset

While I would have absolutely played the shit out of this... I'm a bit disappointed that it was going to be a survival game. I would have much rather gotten a narrative driven single player game over an online multi player survivor.
Y’know they could’ve done in JW: Survivor? Being able to join the various factions listed in the game where you would have complete missions specific to that group. Like helping eco terrorist save some dinosaurs or aiding the VIP mercenaries rescue their person of interest. And by completing these missions, you would receive loyalty/trust points which can you can use to get better gear and weapons.
The raptors in tunnels already happened, in Jurassic Park the game by telltale. Pretty bad game but pretty good story, much better than most jurassic world stories.

I want a 'Star Wars Battlefront' style Jurassic Park game, with the various factions named here standing in for the Republic or Empires armies...

I don't know any adults that watched Jurassic Park and were actually scared lol. Tons of people saw these films as kids and were scared then saw the JW films and thought they weren't as scary. But the franchise never was lol. Spielberg himself wanted the films to be watchable for kids. Kids are what made the franchise what it is. We need to get past this argument. If anything the franchise had thriller aspects but even then the JW did that just fine.

This is way too ambitious. I don’t think these studios had the resources to pull this off. Making a good game of this scale involves more than writing vague design documents and creating a few good assets. Had the game released it would likely have been disappointing and very different from this initial vision.
