I managed Coventry to London on a cheap mountain bike down the Grand Union Canal at 58 years of age and my arse was sore! How you could do that distance in such a short time is amazing especially when having to go the scenic route instead of down the motorway!
Only all my love cycling videos just what I need to get it going the blood I love it. I always watch these before I go out and get my body moving. I always watch one of these, and then put up my heavy playlist like Delta Parole, Three Days Grace, System and then I just go haaaaard!!!! Tactic hasnt let me down yet.
Starting watching your vlogs through Francis Cade! Funnily enough I watched a second and third vlog with Sav climbing Clieves hill in Aughton where I live and ride. I didn't want to subscribe to another cycling TH-camr but now I'm hooked watching your Italian adventure! I design animations so really appreciate your high quality filming same as Francis vlogs.
I did my first Ride with GPS adventure yesterday, same thing, not very direct and lots of bike paths and byways. Fun though. Mine was only 136km. Nice efforts Larry!
Incredible. During the easing of the lockdown I came to the idea to cycle from London to Liverpool to see my parents which allows me to avoid trains and transport, however actually going through with it scares me. My level of fitness allows for a 80-90 mile ride, and I don't even know how to gain the strength for anything further..
What a grand idea! It’s a long way for sure, it becomes a mind game after about 6 hours. I’m very lucky my fitness allows me to do a fair amount but yeah nothing’s gonna replace pure miles.
@@bbikerlawrence Thanks for your response - revisiting this video I realise that TH-cam hasn't informed me of it! Re: mind game - I can imagine! The scary bit I guess is when you're sore, and there's 100km to go! Whichever way I hope to get there one day - again, chapeau for this effort!
Long rides are not just type origin and destination and off You go. It takes a lot of preparation, google street viewing and map interpretation as You might have two routes and one takes You up a steep hill on an A road.
That’s some bloody ride ... well done but you were always up to it. As far as I could see, you didn’t get lost either. Good to see you out and about Cheers
You may have been on this Audax with me on the hottest day of the year I think. I got round sub-10 hours on a solo mission. It's not 400km though... It's 300km but still impressive if that's your largest ride. 👌
Top ride Lawrence👍🏻 I’m planning to do a biggie this weekend and watching this was just ticket to spur me on. Also,Solo rides should get double the kudos.💪🏻
Wow, that's the second big ride video I've watched today, cycling that far in a day is an impressive feat, I've only been back cycling for a couple of months after a 20 year break, 35 km is far enough for me just now.
Great ride Lawrence, that is a long day in the saddle! Much kudos. Enjoyed the video as always, documented in your inimitable and compelling style! Do you think, psychologically speaking, it would be harder to ride for that long if you didn't have the virtual people to speak to on camera?
Epic, epic, epic ride - akin to the Milk Race Tour of Britain states of old. Hate to be the one to say this to you - Warrington isn't Liverpool. It's a different borough. Guessing you were staying at Cam's?
Beast of a ride that, totally recognised myself on long long rides at the end where you're just hurting and sick of being on the bike. Great achievement though 💪
We all need friends like Sara. She loaded you up, justifying the rear rack and pannier. What a cool and thoughtful gal. I hope you return the favor.
Thanks for this one Lawrence. I have a 150 miler in 2 weeks and your big ride is helping me get psyched up.

I can’t imagine being that fit, you don’t even sound tired. Good effort chap👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
absolute legend mate, well done. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been.

Liking the drone intro footage, really cinematic Lawrence.👍 Everyone needs a Sarah for a luxury breakfast like that. Epic ride🚴♂️‼️
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant video! As the crow flies it's about 290 km as the crow flies, those winding country lanes really add to the distance!
Liverpool to London. I kind of always imagined that was like the suburbs to down town. You know, like I'll see you in an hour, mate!
I did my first Ride with GPS adventure yesterday, same thing, not very direct and lots of bike paths and byways. Fun though. Mine was only 136km. Nice efforts Larry!
I'm only half way in and Sarah is such a legend
Absolute Boss. I owe her one 🙃
Congratulations on your epic ride. I’m looking forward to do the same. I did a 180 kilometer last December 26, 2019

Nice ride Lawrence, good to have you back vloging mate.
Was wondering if the route would take you through Stoke/Biddulph/Congleton area. Nice riding there.

I am planning a ride to Liverpool from Birmingham in July. And; I will be using my carbon bike because I will be wanting to ride at some speed.
Brilliant effort Lawrence. Great video too. I felt fully engaged with your experience - whilst sitting on the sofa eating a large bag of crisps.😊
Hahaha Shaun, appreciate the kind comment. Trust me I do a lot of that too 🥴

Great job man !! and great vid... subscribing to see what you do next !
Well done on this ride. I went further on my ride two weeks ago, did 400km in a day completing 'C2C2C' in a single day. The biggest ride I ever had.

At 10:49 u were literally 1 mile from my house as I live just outside of knutsford in lower peover. Great job mate
"knutsford in lower peover" made me think of a midget trapping his nuts in a falling toilet seat while tip-toeing to piss in the bowl

Sara is such an awesome friend to you, do show her your appreciation!
What an adventure, man I love riding a bike.

Hey Lawrence... the flooded road... did you plough through it or take your shoes and socks off? So how many carbs did you burn?

Great ride Lawrence, that is a long day in the saddle! Much kudos. Enjoyed the video as always, documented in your inimitable and compelling style! Do you think, psychologically speaking, it would be harder to ride for that long if you didn't have the virtual people to speak to on camera?
