FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE 100% CONVINCED THE PRIMER ARTICLE AND PICTURE IS SATIRE:
Removing that I doubt it is as it was official content, the timeline lines up with what the primer confirms, the Ultramarines swelled to surpass all others when the two missing legions were forgotten as the Marines of the Gal Vorbak said, that happened during the second Rangdan Xenocide when they surpassed the Dark Angels and all other legions, becoming the biggest one of all of them, confirming that the missing legions were forgotten during the second rangdan xenocide.
That article is just confirming what everything else was already implying.

If this were to ever become established canon, that would make Erda being responsible for the primarchs being separated even more ridiculous lol.
Erda: "I'm not going to let you use my sons to wage a xenocidal war across the cosmos... instead I'm going to disperse them across the galaxy and cross my fingers they don't get fucked up wherever they land".
11th primarch: *Becomes immediate meatpuppet for one of the most ruthless and objectively evil xenos races in the galaxy, and summarily dies during the Rangdan Xenocides, having never lived a life of his own*
    Grimdark and grimderp.

In Apharius' book, during a council before enacting a plan to help locate Horus who may or may not be fighting off the rangda, "Alpharius" says the following:
"I would not have a brother fall in battle before he has even been reunited with my father."
That seems like too specific a line not to be a wink and a nod. I definitely think this was the fate of at least one of the Primarchs. And it absolutely makes sense to attempt to omit from Imperial history. Because it's more a failing of the Emperor than anything else.

    Edit:
If the fate of the 11th is indeed accurate to this video... Man, I imagine the sheer horror and tragedy in the 11th legion's hearts when they marched into combat only to see their enslaved gene-father for the first time.
This gives me inspiration to draw the scenario.

First of all, congrats on the video release.
Second, that's an interesting way to put it, I do know that the possible way for the two missing primarchs are erased is that they possibly turned against the emperor, but this is a new way to look at it and pretty much plausible.

Idk why im imagining Rangdan Xenocide as irl Punic War.
Both wars has three phases, the second one was the bloodiest, and the third was simply a one-sided anhillation where the defeated city of Carthage got burned to the ground and salted by the Romans.

Honestly, it does make sense, even if it’s still just speculation. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but when I joined 40K back in the end of 7th and start of 8th, people would always talk about how the 2nd and 11th were ways that you could make your own loyal/heretical space marine chapters fit in to the general established lore, given it fit the status quo of the other legions. However, as 8th progressed on, and into 9th and 10th, what became much more emphasized and pushed was the existence of successor chapters branching off of founding chapters. I feel this is how chapters like the Raptors, the Charcarodons (if I am spelling that right), and other more well know loyalist successor chapters were brought into the limelight. Even for chaos, the ideas of warbands seemed to be more heavily pushed, explaining how they never lost their inherent traitorous heritage but adapted to different methodologies and levels of warp-taint.
I say all this as I feel this leans heavily into why they started pushing for the idea of successor chapters. The Primarchs of the 2nd and 11th are gone, but their soldiers were filtered into other chapters (as established by the swelling of the 13th). Perhaps these soldiers brought forth a vastly different fishing style, and, if they survived the heresy, would go on to found some of the first successor chapters during the various foundings. This would also explain why some chapters, before the introduction of the primaris and chapters like the Sons of the Phoenix, had successors that seemed partially off from their original chapter ideology and primarch. Now, again, I could be spouting complete and utter rubbish, connecting completely unrelated points with a red line of string, but it is still something to consider.

I agree with all your whole theory I think it makes the most sense. Could you imagine when an enslaved primarch for unlessed on the legions in a battle? That sheer terror and confusion. I also think this is where the animosity between Leman and the Lion. I think it makes more sense for the duels to develop out of this then the canonical reason which I forgot because it was lame(I think) lol I keep adding more as I think about this video. The other later HH plotline this can help make more sense is Leman's plan to charge towards Horus's fleet. Something happened between Leman, the Second and the Eleventh which left Leman with a guilt that made him never hesitate if something like that happens again. To end it before another brother dies. I dunno great video I'm just spit balling.

  • @Stepper1990
    @Stepper1990 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Altough I agree with the fate of the second, I think the eleventh is still around. The custodes codex mentions a prisoner of the vaults of Terra named subject eleven and if I recall correctly during his encounter with the Emperor, the Lion is told about having 19 brothers, and the eleventh is mentioned as well in the order in which they were discovered. Furthemore it would fit the narrative of the war of the false primarch

Have you read "Let the Galaxy Burn" short story compilation? There is story told in one of them "That when the Great Eagle found his Children one of them was tainted and willingly allowed the Great Eagle to kill him". If I can find my copy I'll give you a proper source.

A tragic tale. Ah, that hurts. Fulgrim had to purge his legion, but they were few and dealing with a geneseed mutation.
But a full legion and its Primarch? Who probably tried to save his sons and failed. Who ran out of time, unsuccessful, himself tainted, as the Space Wolves closed in to do what he could not.
And the Eleventh. To cross half the galaxy in search of their genesire, to find him... and lose him, forced to put him down in order to set him free.

  • @Shin_Godji
    @Shin_Godji 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

Great video chapter master. Very nice elaboration too.
However I do have my doubts.
"...Speak what must be spoken. You are afraid.’
‘I am,’ Lorgar confessed. ‘I fear the Emperor will break the Word Bearers - and break me. We would be cast alongside the brothers we no longer speak of.’
The silence was hardly comforting. ‘Well?’ Lorgar asked.
‘He might,’ the one-eyed giant said. ‘There was talk of it, before Monarchia.’
‘Did he come to you to ask your thoughts?’
    ‘He did,’ Magnus admitted.
‘And he went to our brothers?’
‘I believe so. Don’t ask what sides were taken by whom, for I do not know where most of them stood. Russ was with you, as was Horus. In fact, it was the first time the Wolf King and I have agreed on anything of import.’
‘Leman Russ spoke in my favour?’ Lorgar laughed. ‘Truly, we live in an age of marvels.’
Magnus didn’t share the amusement. His lone eye was a deep, arctic blue as it fixed upon Lorgar. ‘He did. The Space Wolves are a spiritual Legion, in their
own stunted and blind way. Fenris is an unmerciful cradle, and it breeds such things in them. Russ knows that, though he lacks the intelligence to give it voice. Instead, he swore that he’d already lost two brothers, and had no desire to lose a third.’
‘Two already lost.’ Lorgar looked back to the city. ‘I still recall how they-’
‘Enough,’ warned Magnus. ‘Honour the oath you took that day.’
‘You all find it so easy to forget the past. None of you ever wish to speak of what was lost. But could you do it again?’ Lorgar met his brother’s eyes. ‘Could you stand with Horus or Fulgrim, and never again speak my name purely because of a promise?’
Magnus wouldn’t be drawn into this. ‘The Word Bearers will not walk the same paths as the forgotten and the purged. I trust you, Lorgar...."
ADB's The First Heretic doesn't suggest the missing Primarchs were controlled by someone or something. More like they rebeled. And in their rebellion they were broken by the Emperor. And that's what Lorgar is afraid of. That he and his legion will be seen as rebels in the eyes of the Emperor, because of Lorgar's incompetence, so He would have to unleash Russ, the self proclaimed Emperor's Executioner upon him.
    Just my theory ofc.

This is a work of the most meticulous research (and I mean the word "most" very specifically) and wonderfully gifted conjecture.
That a conclusion that isn't confirmed in absolute terms about a subject that is specifically intended to remain a mystery must by definition remain in the class "circumstantial" is a given, but **that never means it isn't absolutely correct**
The direction of the 40k game and it's developing lore at the time the Rangdan and their conflict were introduced was under the control and stewardship of folk I knew personally at the time and I can attest that their creative qualities and enthusiasm could absolutely have created this obscured narrative layer. It's foundational enough to have been respected and left alone ever since.
i wish I could ask them secretly but I respect them too much as people.
I was at the time of Rogue Trader and the genesis of 40k at Chewton St, but I was studio adjacent, and for a good while afterward and I can tell you that no whisper of this ever broke the surface even very privately.
That simple fact is quite huge, these were not blabbermouths and they enormously respected the integrity of their baby, but still
I find I really love your work, especially it's quality and it's shockingly enjoyable delivery and in this matter, it's now canon for me. Which is the best compliment I can give it.

*I can make ther plot twist even worse*
What if the Rangdan were tall *because* of finding a Primarch baby and unlocking his gene works? This means that Erda, in wanting to stop a galactic genocide, either knew this was going to happen and enpowere the Rangdan on purpose to give them a chance to stop the crazy Emperor, or didn't and this means she mistakenly caused the enslavement of her own son and the empowerment of *another* genocidal race. I don't know which is worse honestly...
    *Now, even worse*
What if the Emperor had seen a way to regain his son, but the Primarch was killed by the Void Dragon shard in a feat for vengeance against its captor? I can almost picture it, the shard has the Primarch incapacitated but still alive, the Emperor flies in to rescue his son, and the shard suddenly rips his head off so the Emperor can't have him. Now the Emperor not only has to cover up the mortality of Primarchs, but he can also do nothing to the shard for killing his son, because if he kills it then the mechanicum goes along with it, and the damage is already done. He has to live knowing that he owns everythign he has achieved to the murderer of his son, a murderer that he did not stop when he could. Now he is also left with TWO secrets that he cannot afford to be leaked: 1) a Primarch was killed, 2) by a shard of a Xeno (not a human) that empowers the Machine Cult and is locked under Mars.

The emperors wife was the stupidest plot point they could possibly have added... such a stupid move on GW's point. It was uneccessary, added nothing, and actively detracts from established cannon by muddying the water. Retconning for absolutely no gain and no plotholes being filled. It actually creates more.

I think another reason the teo had to be forgotten was because so much of the imperium was based on the infallibility of the impiriim and the Emperor, that both were the best for humanity. If either primarch, the pinacle of the emperor's genecraft, could be suberverted, his perfection would be shattered.
Its also more than likely the primarchs were vulnerable to whatever infection the rangdan utilised. Oculus imperia mentioned that the imperium utilised weapons designed to destroy information itself, implying the rangdan could infest the very information of the universe.

    • @dannyfortuna9573

I kinda had that same thoughts awhile for the loss of the second primarch with him captured and mentally chained to a xeno race

My new theory is that Florkofcows is Pio. I will shout this from the roof tops until Flork holds a press conference to dispel the rumors.

Very interesting theories for sure, I do like that the one of the lost primarch never had a chance due to this war the Imperium almost lost.
But I still hold on the 11th is a servant of Malaal given the Subject 11th blurb in the 9th edition SM codex. Might be true, might be not-who knows?

Why was Sanguinius so afraid of execution of Blood Angels when Emps was completely okay with the actions of Pre-Heresy World Eaters and Night Lords and the flesh change of Thousand Sons? Emps wouldn't have batted a eye on vampirism of Blood Angels.

Fantastic video! my only point of critique is to potentiall speak a bit slower, as it could be hard to keep up on occasion, but overall very good.

It does seem like many of the writers of 40K lore don’t have even the most basic understanding of military tactics.

Wait, I thought that was the generally accepted theory on what the hell happened. Outside of the “make your own legions” schtick.
Obviously and apparently unknowingly, the Primarchs Fortuna has blessed me with great foresight on this issue. Fortunate indeed!

Nah, most times I see people talking about the missing Primarchs, they theorize that they must've betrayed the Imperium.

I mean, it is an italian accent, I would not classify it as a "Vampire Accent".
With how much garlic we italians eat as a vampire I would already be dead.

It is possible, but with how big the war was, it is hard to see the coincidence of a primarch finding another primarch to face on the battlefield.
