This episode just tears me in two different ways. One is there have been people who have been on The list for years who have never done drugs or alcohol. But on the other side i feel bad for the woman who was sober for 3 years and then had one drink. I unfortunately may need a liver Transplant in 12-18 years because of Inflammatory Bowel disease. I did absolutely nothing wrong.

I felt sorry for the lieutenant in the beginning he just lost his wife.

Realistically, people with addiction, even when they've kicked the habit, always have a chance of relapsing. Transplant committees can't take those risks due to limited supplies of organs.

3 yrs sober that's an achievement in it's self i think she knows if she drinks with this new heart there won't be another one i think that should of been told to her

a lot of people in this comment section seem to not really understand the fact that human hearts aren’t exactly a dime a dozen, you can’t just go handing them out like candy on halloween to everyone who needs it, especially when there’s a documented risk for a patient to potentially ruin a new one.

Congenital Heart Defect patient here, I've been on and off the list. You have to basically become Jesus to get a heart. No alcohol, no drugs no smoking. Live the most boring life you can, get the most bland toast job possible and do not get fat. Your life's entire purpose now revolves around pleasing the council/committee, all that matters is what they judge you as: Saint or Sinner.

They have voted a death sentence for the patient. Did they not listen to the conversation on addiction. Sober 3 years and one mishap. I would have voted yea.

She had a documented addiction- yes, she was clean and sober for 3 years, but the moment she took another drink.....she lost it. Grief does horrible things to people, and she made a choice, one that ultimately cost her a life saving organ.

I remember reading about a certain rock star who got a liver transplant, then later was photographed in a bar drinking.

People don't get that these committees have to make tough decisions. They are not against this lady but had to decide she was not a good candidate because they can find a better one.

  • @lauramcknight2321

If you find this a tragedy, sign up to be an organ donor.

  • @BrandyinIndy

This women is not in relapse. She had a lapse. Huge difference!!

  • @leabee8101

1st time in three years? i'm sure she's been upset in that time so that question was the dumbest question ever

  • @spookymiraclepreacher6037

This makes me not want to be not to be an organ donor. People swarm over your dead body like vultures.

  • @matthewmartinez3907

The day we can reliably clone/3D print organs will be the day that sad circumstances like this may no longer happen.

  • @SeanMcGuire92

Is that it for that woman and her daughter? What ends up happening with them?

  • @user-cj6lb5qw8v

so what are the principle of organ transplant display here

  • @ladyweasellou3367

Take her off the backboard, she's in a neck brace says neck hurts... Immediately set up the back of the stretcher.

  • @nicolehegarty4749

Damn one of the worst short videos ever. So upsetting all around.
