Why is the dyno chart start at 4250rpm? Most Jeep owner want low end torque and care very little for high end HP.
bullsharkreef exactly. I would like to see them answer this. I almost never get the rpms up to 4.5k.
The answer is obvious, the engine does not respond well to boost at all, i mean at all. Slapping 8 pounds of boost on it to only receive 80hp and torque is bad. Looking at the chart it looks like the motor is asleep completely at anything below 4k rpms.
Wow that's it for 8psi boost.
Ripp makes 360 hp+ with 6psi boost, not very impressive for such an invasive modification.
In reality the answer is, the automatic transmission will kick down, even in manual mode, so they have to start dyno pulls with the engine speed too high for kickdown to occur. Other shops have published dyno sheets of this kit installed on manual JKs, which shows that it responds very well to boost even at lower engine speeds, in fact.
My 2 manual transmission jk wouldn't even boost until over 4000 rpms with this kit, which was insanely disappointing. I called edelbrock and let them know I wasn't happy with the performance. Their supercharger tech helped me get the system running much better than their out of the box settings.
For one, removing the spring from the bypass valve will allow the boost to kick in at a much lower rpm. From there, you can adjust the behavior by adding a jet to the vacuum line going into the bypass valve. He actually sent me a .015 jet, but recommended I try other sizes to tune it to my liking.

@@kavanaughd13 Good question. Putting a blower on a engine with a stock 2 into 1 exhaust system---will raise the engine temps a lot. I suspect the cats are too restrictive even for the stock motor, and I can see how that caused the head issues they have had. Putting a blower on it with out changing the exhaust, (and cats,--or gut them), will definitely reduce the life of the engine. Get a dual exhaust system, and you can even feel the difference in engine heat when you open the hood after driving it.

No, it is not normal. The stock exhaust is too restrictive and the engine gets hotter. That is not good. Get dual exhaust, and gut the cats if you can, (or maybe try to replace them with cats that flow much better than stock), and I bet the engine runs even cooler than stock while you still gain another 40hp. I put a blower on my V-6 mustang, and I had the same issues. I would bet because most V-6's have a "2 into 1" exhaust systems, a blower on any of them will raise engine temps, and rob power. Many V-8's already have dual exhaust, so they are better off.
While the kit is Beautiful and week thought out, I expected More Power from an Edelbrock

Seriously considering one of these for my wrangler. I notice that most people test boost applications on modified heavy 4 door wranglers with huge 37 inch tires and big dana 44 diffs with an automatic trans. I noticed this wrangler had the the stock 17's and stock tires on it and made about 310rwhp. I have a 2015 2 door with 30.6" tall tires (stockers are 32.1"), 6 speed manual, flowmaster exhaust, AFe cai intake and de-casted upper and lower intake manifolds. What are the chances of putting down 350-370 at the wheels with this kit on a base model 2 door jeep with a 6 speed, breathing mods and small/light all season tires? As my truck sits right now I can pull off 0-60 in about 6.1 seconds and ran the quarter mile with a best time of 14.5@93mph. Thanks Quadratec for the video.

Not available for 2016 Jeeps? Lots of incomplete info out there in regards to tuners and ECM swaps, etc. Has anyone seen one installed on a new Jeep? Details? Running a different tuner voids Edelbrock 3/36 warranty? Lookin for help here. In the middle of setting up a 2016. Would really like to include the E-Force.
From what I understand, if you swap to an earlier ECU you can run this charger on a 2016. The warranty only applies to using their tune, the idea there is if someone tunes aggressively and blows up their motor, that is not something that Edelbrock can take responsibility for. I would give the Edelbrock tech line a call, they can give you all the info you need.
+Quadratec that is all true. Ufortunately, after talking to all tge tuners (Superchips, Diablo, SCT and Edelbrock) none of them really have it all figured out. None of them addrrss the TCM changes either and simply assume the ECM/PCM swap will take care of everything. Also, the ECM swap involves removing the 2016 and installing a re-mapped 2014 version. I talked to Edelbrock, Magnuson, RIPP and none of them has a really good wholistic supercharger sokution. I am just gonna watch what develops in this market for awhile. Someone will eventually get it all sorted out.
What is the service for every 100k miles? Is it changing the water mixture in the supplied tank?
No, it is at least bearing replacement in the compressor.

I'm looking into buying a travel trailer to enjoy with my Jeep, but options are extremely limited due to GVW issues.
It will only give you better toque and HP to help pull.

Towing capacity is often not rated by IF a vehicle can tow a specified weight, but rather if a vehicle can safely STOP it. In order to safely tow more you need to focus more-so on upgrading brakes, and possibly adding transmission coolers, instead of adding HP.
The 3.6 isn't the weak point in Wrangler towing. The suspension, drive system, weight and size of vehicle all come into play. The 3.6 Pentastar can tow over 9k lbs in the RAM, and 7650lbs in the new Jeep Gladiator.
@@christophertroy3340 That is a good point. The brakes with no trailer on my 2-door wrangler are not that strong. I never liked anti lock brakes anyway. I swear I can stop faster with out them.

Between 5 and 7 hours. But it's one of those installs where you are better off giving yourself at least a full day.

That dyno is way wrong. That 3.6 Pentastar engine makes 285hp with the stock exhaust. If it had dual exhaust with better flow cats, the blower with the inter-cooler should be making about 60% more power than stock and still run on pump gas. Leave the stock exhaust on it, and it loses about 40 hp and greatly increases engine temps. They really should tell us that, when putting a blower on a V-6 engine with a 2 into 1 exhaust system. On this Jeep, with the stock exhaust, it should be making about 385hp. The dyno is whacked, and that is usually operator error. (I do own a dyno).
does it come with an inter cooler and does it fit under a stock jk hood??

Our JKUR with stock 4.10s does fine, but could definitely use more power. I upgraded to a CAI and 87 octane tune and that made a noticeable difference. Haven't really had a chance to try the 91 octane tune, but I want to

Yes but this kit is designed to run with stock internals, pushing more boost through it can destroy the stock internals fairly quickly, 5 to 6 pounds of boost is usually where the line is drawn for these factory components as to how much they can take. This kit being a positive displacement design is giving that boost at the lower rpms unlike a centrifugal supercharger or a turbo. Yes you can put a different pulley on it to make more boost but on a stock motor this can have very negative outcomes in just 10 to 20k miles.

+Quadratec I was reading there is a tune problem that causes the jeep to top out in 3rd gear and "get stuck", has the tune been updated to resolve that?
