Psychopsis can bloom on the same spike for years. The flowers look like a big butterfly. Every month you will get a new flower. I am waiting for mine to get spikes 😊
Ok. It only took me 2 minutes and 48 seconds to fall in love with you again today. Lol I hope you're having a wonderful day and I'm going to keep on watching! Also, thank you so much for pronouncing keiki correctly. I had to stop watching someone else's video because he kept saying "kee-kee". I know, it sounds petty but I'm only human (and Hawaiian). LOL.
Thank you for your videos and positivity! I have been having trouble with my dendrobium nobiles in semi-hydro.... now two years in a row (with two separate plants) they've grown vigorously through the summer, then slowly dumped all their roots in the winter. I do keep them in a cooler room of my house but I also pull all the water so the roots aren't wet while cold. I'm not sure what my question is, but I'm so jealous that yours is doing so well!! And I'm wondering how to replicate.
"I still feel frustrated by them" I think we all go through that. I've tossed or given away plants because they don't work for me. I've been in the process of thinning again. On the Maxillaria, the new roots are supposed to do that, they grow down through the sheaths from bulb to bulb until the reach the medium.
Hi Michael, I love your informative videos. I am new to growing orchids, and a zygopetalum was my first. Could you strap a second jar to your #18 jar, give the roots access to more medium and even out the symmetry?
I am glad things are working out. I live in Seattle are so as you might know, the water here is really soft (about 23-26 ppm) so I totally hear what you are saying about the plants! We get to use tap water for carnivorous plants also. Anyway, I think it’s time to get a bigger pots? I don’t know where you find those pots though...
Michael, While watching your video, I've known for some time you grew semi-hydroponically using leca. As you were showing off your collection yesterday, i noticed your water reservoir in your pots were all dry. So after you water/fed, do you drain off the water or do you let the water evaporate off between waterings? I'm using leca more and more myself. So i try and maintain the water reservoir level, then flush every couple of weeks. Just curious. Cheers
Cute that you have an orchid from your wedding, I thought about doing that oneday but I don't think I wanna have a traditional wedding with guests so I may just get married and give a few as gifts or maybe a small get together after. I feel like it would be awkward to do the more traditional route just because I'm shy and have anxiety xD❤. We'll see, I really like decorating so I want to at the same time just as an excuse to be extra lmao.
Hey Michael! I love your orchid collection and i see that you have a cute phal in bloom that you've had i believe your first. I'm trying o get my first orchid to bloom since it;s been 2 years and i remember you saying you think your orchids bloomed without a temp drop? did this happen again after the first one that bloomed that way? Let me know if possible i really want to bloom an orchid that has never bloomer or me! Thank you!
It's been a month or so that you haven't returned a message from Orchids for Dummies channel. He and all of us, are interested in the outcome of your experiment with urea! I know you are a better person than that. Just wondering why?
Hi, talking about plant and energy, please go and visit Jacolyn channel in Salmon Arm Canada, in her last video she attached a video that explains just what you are saying about plants sending out signals. Great video and thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

Please don't give up on your #26 why not just put in water and see what it does. I believe it will do well ❣️

Hi Michael. Did you do your orchids set up in your new place? Did I miss it?
Hi I'm new to growing dendrobium nobile orchids dose anyone have any tips on how to look after them?
Did you start watering the Dendrobium when the "Harold bloom's" (?) started or will you
wait for the other blooms?
