G'day Paul, glad you found a cluch replacement without too much trouble, right parts for the jod and l no dought the cluch with work properly, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
The joys and frustrations of delivery services. I had a parcel sent to me, but the seller had already apologised to me because he wrote 18 instead of 16 on the package. No big deal, except my neighbours sleep all day and work all night and never ever answer the door, so meant I never saw my package until they were ready to hand it over a week later. Not the couriers fault for a change.
A pity they didn’t try that Japanese clutch with more plates, but the mean diameter on the Japanese clutch friction plates is greater than the RE plates, and (as you know, of course) it’s the mean diameter (x the number of plates) that makes the difference, not just the area of friction material. Looking forward to seeing the next road test of this bike. It should be a real go-er then. Les
Right at the end,1970,RE had both this splined drum, and a splined center, with the proper plates. Works great.Sadly Hitchcock's has the factory blueprints, for the clutch center, but the big problem is,who might buy it,or more importantly ante up a deposit, for a short run?I know too many in the hobby, that,I imagine, would balk at the price.Glad the owner went for the new set-up. Mr. Hitchcok is a good businessman, and a passionate enthusiast. Maybe someday.
"IF" we're interested. Can there be any doubt? Always something interesting in your videos.
Thank you!
Great job.
Thanks!

What a difference! Bolting a bunch of parts together is so much different than making sure they bolt together properly!👍
These components look far more reassuring.
Cant wait to see ride footage of the bike!

Yet another fit and proper job well done, Paul.
Thanks Paul.

Original engineering is usually the best in 95% of bikes.
Good now but do let Hitchcocks know abt that relieving necessity.
A real basket case 😂
Well it's gone lovely over the west side of llanwrda this pm so test ride should be on the cards.
Hopefully some of the evident clatter of the previous test ride will now be diminished.
I doubt it - these engines clatter a bit in any case, and the mic on my camera rarely flatters any machine.
