    Proud 65-year-old male ARMY here.
I highly recommend next you react to an introduction to BTS the Bangtan 7. By Taylor. Her introduction gives you a more in-depth look at each individual member, a glimpse into their background and how they came to be members of BTS. Also it is more up-to-date as of May 2022.
The lights the fans have are called ARMY bombs. They have to be purchased and they sync up to your individual seat in the arena and they are controlled by a program that can turn them on or off and can make them change color.

@@TylerCreatesContent Also, if you encounter a song of BTS that you don't like, you can outrightly say so, don't be afraid of ARMY'S or fear that we won't like it so you have to "pretend" that you like it.
It's best if you'll never do that, cause ARMY'S are sharp as h*ll, also we already understand that everyone just have different music taste, for example like me, right now
I prefer BTS older albums like their Youth Trilogy The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt1 and pt2, NOT BECAUSE it's their best album (BTS don't have "BEST" album cause all their Albums can be their best, so it's just up to the listener which one they prefer) but because their song messages from that era resonates more with me since I'm in my "YOUTH" phase, back when I'm still in school, I dig more to BTS oldest album where they still talk about School.
So technically music taste in every person are different and it can change over time, so if you prefer their hip-hop songs better than their pop, we'll understand and would recommend you more songs that suit your taste, I just hope you'd find a song that you'd really like

BTS is very real, the most real people or celebrities in the industry. Take today for example, Jungkook came on live to talk to us and sing karaoke when he woke up, then he deleted his 45+M follower Instagram because he said he doesn't use it. They do not care about numbers at all, they only care about making connections with army which is why it's so easy to let go of those huge social media followings. BTS are here for their fans and music and we are here for them in return

All their albums are concept albums.
And not only do they address important issues, they are genius lyricists who use a lot of wordplay, reference psychology, literature, history and more, and there are multilayered storylines running from song to song and across album to album as well, including existential and socio-political or psychological messages and a fictional unfolding storyline called the BU (Bangtan Universe) which includes a mobile game, WEBTOON, art films and other clues sprinkled in their content.
Their first three albums had a school/adolescent concept with relevant fearless social commentaries (in an era of very suppressed and government controlled media in Korea) as almost all of them were teenagers and three still in high school when they debuted, the youngest just 15 (2 Cool 4 Skool, O!RUL8,2?, and Skool Luv Affair.)
Then a stand alone album themed off the turbulent transition from schoolboys to youths (Dark & Wild.)
Their second trilogy was an evolution from their hip-hop roots into more maturity and a broader experimentation with styles, and had a theme of love, loss, friendship/brotherhood and challenges as young adults, and began the BU content (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 1, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 2, and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Forever Young.)
Then came the Wings Era, where they really started to step into the bigger world. Based on the 1946 allegorical coming of age book Demian by Herman Hesse, it explores concepts of temptation, sacrifice, innocence exchanged for wisdom and growing up. (Wings, You Never Walk Alone.)
Then came the Love Yourself trilogy, based on the multiple levels of love: romantic, family, friends, fans and the self, as well as more social issues. In fact you’re pretty safe assuming most songs on any album or series have hidden meanings or nuance and to look for explanation video breakdowns.
(Love Yourself: Her, Love Yourself: Tear, Love Yourself: Answer.)
Then came the Map of the Soul Series, which was supposed to be a trilogy but was interrupted by the pandemic and they interrupted the album series to reflect that reality. They are based on Jungian psychology concepts and their struggles with their rise to fame, fear of burnout or loss of their passion for art and other raw and honest topics just like all their work. (Map of the Soul: Persona and Map of the Soul: 7)
Then their pandemic album (BE.) A gift to the world to share in the sorrow and uncertainty and bring joy and hope.
Their latest album Proof is an anthology of the last decade of their work as they prepare to move into the next chapter of their lives as artists.
They also all have solo work outside of the solo songs they have on BTS albums. They have done tv series and movie music, released free music for fans including mixtapes of their original music (J-Hope, Suga and RM) and done collaborations with many other artists and two s far have released full solo albums (J-Hope’s Jack in the Box and RM’s Indigo) and more are expected soon.

You really need to watch the hardships. To understand BTS today you need to realize what they have gone through. The reason there is such a bond between the members and ARMY is because they have grown up together and new ARMY are being added all the time. Suga even said in their Busan concert in October "Let's grow old together". It is precisely because they have shown us so much behind the scenes (Bangtan TV) and in documentaries (Burn the Stage, Breaking the Silence, etc..),and their variety show Run BTS, Lives, etc. that you do get to know who they are and see the love they have for each other and come to love them too. Starting last year and continuing they are releasing individual solo albums and heading into the military which is a mandatory 18 months - 2 year service. They all have been struggling with doing things alone. They have spent 10+ Years together and all lived together for most of that time. They are so used to having each other there.

4:00 "There's a lot to unpack"... yeah that's how it started for me😂😂 I've been trying to unpack for 2 years and became ARMY at some point in the process😂😂
The layers in quality, message, visual art, humanity I'm learning everyday!!
19:20 "not that crazy of a concept", dude I still haven't figured it all out! It's Marvel type of complex and multiverses intertwined in 10 albums across 4 eras (Youth to Map of the soul tells 1 cohesive underlying story), tied in with books, short films and video games to understand it all! And each era has also their own concept all their eras (each era is 2 to 4 albums):
1/ Skool era (literally school, teenage years)
2/ Youth era (the most beautiful moment in life, beauty and hardships)
3/ Wings era ( entering adulthood, good/ evil, temptation based on Hesse's novel Demian)
4/ Love Yourself era (beauty, masked love with others/ yourself)
5/ Map of the Soul era (dealing your identity, fame by exploring the concepts of Persona, Ego, shadow and self as explained by Carl Jung)
Then BE was a pandemic album so basically about their life during the pandemic and their english singles
+ you have their solo projects/albums and most of them have a specific themes, sone sort of storytelling
    That's just the outline 😅
    Thanks for your interest 💜

Don't worry about pausing; yes it can get out of hand, but just like army likes long reactions, we like pausing and insightful/emotional commentary! We watch this stuff because we feel all sorts of things about these guys and it feels good to relive it through someone else's eyes. The music matters, of course it matters, but we're all here because of everything else they are as people. We're kinda mushy like that lol. Pause all you want, it's obvious you're paying attention and taking the info in with a very open mind. That's what matters! And I'm adding another vote for Taylor's bangtan 7 lol. But also Black Swan, Idol, ON, I Need U, Fake Love, Spring Day, Ugh and Singularity, just as a good simplified sample base of music styles. But take everything at your pace, totally, and don't feel pressured, we'll enjoy whatever you wanna do!

Those "lights" were NOT handed out...lol. That's BTS official light stick called "ARMY Bomb" which has Bluetooth features that's why those light are in synch with their concert. The latest version is the MOTS7 version...I still have the prior version to that and I bought mine directly at the venue during their concert. The average cost is about $55-60 for each ARMY Bomb, so no they're not given or passed out. It's a "must have" for ARMYs to really have the full concert experience as well. Besides having their Albums not using that "bundle" tactic, they have their own platform Weverse Shop that sells official merchandise....some gets SOLD OUT very quickly too. Welcome to BTS x ARMY....we're a global family. 💜

Thank you for sharing your BTS journey with us..... Please do Taylor's intro to Bangtan 7.... Here is some info for you for when you do the introduction to the members...... Korean people count age differently to others...
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most videos they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on 01 Jan every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....
    EG: TaeHyung (V) born 30 Dec 1995 ...... current International Age 27 (Korean Age 29). ... 2 years difference
So Tae born 30 Dec 95 is 1 year old, then on 01 Jan 96 he is 1 more year older (so they would say he is 2 years old, when we would say he is 2 days old.)
So he was considered 29 in Korea since 01 January, we would say he is 27 turning 28 in Dec.
It's a different way of looking at age, from new years day - Tae is living his 29th year (since conception) - instead of - he turned 27 (since birth)....
Year of birth - Age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and age became trainee)
    Jin 1992 - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo)
    Suga 1993- 20 yo (2011 - 17yo)
    JHope 1994 - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo)
    RM 1994 - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo)
    Jimin 1995 - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo)
    V 1995 - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo)
    JK 1997 - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo)
(So JK was only 13 when he joined Big Hit and 15 when he debuted. )
The Korean Government is recently bringing international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos will be referencing Korean age.

Just found your channel and am really enjoying your BTS reactions! I definitely agree with others that if you like this kind of video, you’ll love the Taylor intro video to the members. And ARMYs love long reactions 💜
BTS have lots of concept albums and album series. For example, their korean discography includes:
The school trilogy: their first 3 albums
The Youth Trilogy: the next 3
Wings/You Never Walk Alone: Wings is an album formed around concepts from the book Demian
The Love Yourself Trilogy: this trilogy tells a 3 part story about love.
Map of the Soul series: explores their career through the lens of Jungian psychology
    BE: an album made
by them during the pandemic (they did so much on this album, even including art direction, photography, video direction)
Regarding why they got cut from shows and why the general public isn’t aware of their underdog story: BTS are industry disruptors. They have autonomy and ownership over their label. Many, many label execs and other music industry peeps have a monetary stake in keeping people from knowing that. If BTS can be successful operating in a way that is antithetical to how most labels operate, it makes those other labels look bad and will make artists think twice before accepting shitty deals that cheat them out of money while lining executives’ pockets. There are lots of other reasons why they are unfairly targeted and kept down by industry insiders (for example, they also communicate directly with fans instead of through media and operate ethically, which people don’t like). Basically, people who profit off of artists don’t want to see the biggest artist in the world be someone who didn’t go through them to get to the top.

3:11 that particular award I don't remember what it's for but there is no single "entity" in Korea that is equivalent to the Grammys, the closest would be the Korean Music Awards (they are considered the most coveted awards in Korea). Other than that, Korea and Asia has numerous award shows, all of them with their own criteria. Within those awards there are "Grand prizes" or Daesang. Currently, BTS are the most awarded musicians in South Korea's history, with 73 Daesang. They are also the most awarded group of all time and the fourth most awarded musicians of all time (behind Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Michael Jackson) with over 900 awards during their 10 year career.
13:35 We do have movies about them! Although they are docuseries and ducumentaries filmed by them. They're called Bring the Soul (Docuseries and movie), Break the Silence (Docuseries and movie), Burn the Stage (movie).
19:17. All of their albums are concept albums. And they even do trilogies ahaha for example:
Celeste said that their albums are heavily referenced to psychological theories, literature and art, an amazing example is their album series ‘Map of the Soul’ is based off the book called ‘Jung’s Map of the Soul’ by Carl Jung. They deals with the self and identity.
    1. Album Map of the Soul - Persona
    2. Album Map of the Soul 7 (MOTS:7 just released on 21st Feb)
    3. Album Map of the Soul: The Journey (Japanese album just released on 14th July)
Another Example is the Love Yourself trilogy; This trilogy is very progressive
Love Yourself: Her - A love that seems perfect, nearly serendipitous
Love Yourself: Tear - Where the cracks starts to show and the relationship breaks
Love Yourself: Answer - The realisation that true love comes only after learning to love oneself
You have to realise that their whole concept in this era is about loving yourself, BUT they don’t make every song about it. BTS taught me and demonstrated to me through music and lyric composition on how and why I should love myself.
25:19 those are actually lightsticks we buy for concerts! They're called army bombs and we connect them to the concert venues through Bluetooth!

this concept combines some of the group's mv, notes, a weebtoon and even a mobile game.

One of my favorite demonstrations of team solidarity, comes from a clip where the CEO Bang Shi Hyuk has J-Hope and Suga in a little mixing room and RM comes in for a discussion. The other two rappers have their heads down, like they are in trouble, and Bang Shi Hyuk tells RM if he wants, he can go solo, if he feels the members are weighing him down. RM does not know, but the other four members are watching via hidden cameras. But RM does not even hesitate, he choses BTS. The question is repeated, BTS or solo? Again, BTS. Eventually, everyone breaks cover and they admit what was happening. The other members come in and all six are genuinely touched he chose them so readily.
Edit: It's not a movie, but there is a docuseries called "The Rise of Bangtan" that gets more in-depth and shows off more of what they went through. It's even better when you watch the extras and deleted scenes as you go.

Buying BTS physical albums is an experience. You get a lot of extra content, hidden tracks, poster's, high quality photo books, PCs (photo cards which are big collectors' items) and more. It's not just a flimsy plastic jewel case that may or may not have a slip of paper inside with some credits, a set list and if you're lucky lyrics, (although I have noticed the western industry is stepping up their game in this department within the last decade). Yes, you have to translate the lyrics but with today's internet accessibility it's moot. I'm glad to see you discovering the absolute beauty of these 7 human beings.

i also HIGHLY suggest reacting to videos from boracity magazine and bbygangmags both channels do video essay type videos on bts and kpop and explain things many western and non bts fans dont know/dont understand example how bts isnt really kpop, how bts is treated by the korean and western music industry and media, how a lot of the things the general public "know" about bts are actually lies pushed purposely to keep bts from being accepted when they deserve to be sat at the same table as a taylor swift.
i suggest starting with the video bts vs radio by boracity magazine , bts paved the way why is it so hard to accept it by boracity magazine and bts : more than kpop by bbygangmag (before reacting to this one you should react to these bts songs first if you dont want spoilers for these songs list below)
bts - no more dream lyrics
bts - baepsae lyrics and baepsae explained by dkdktv
