Laptop works with a charger and works with a charged battery, however it can not charge the battery. this is because theres no communication between BQ chip and current sense resistor.

I have faced the same problem, acer turning on charger and on battery that have charge but the laptop is not charging.Now i think i know what to do but i don't have schematics to verify the fault

so its the current sensing resistor is faulty?
Not exactly, it's probably not sitting properly or the circuit broke somewhere along the line before reaching the Current sense resistor
