  • Exploring Bronx, Parkchester, Westchester Square, Throggs Neck, Bronx, East Tremont Ave, Bronx Walking Tour, Walking Bronx
In this video, I explore a few neighborhoods in Bronx, NYC. I start my walk from Parkchester which is a very diverse neighborhood in the Bronx. Then I start making my way to another neighborhood called Westchester Square which is pretty residential. The neighborhood is served by the 6 train subway line. After exploring a bit of Westchester Square, I head to East Tremont Ave and start making my way to another neighborhood, Throggs Neck. The neighborhood is pretty residential and gives you a suburban feel. There are also shops and restaurants along East Tremont Ave, and it has beautiful park with waterfront. Hope you enjoy this video stay tune for more.

16:15. - St. Raymond’s Cemetary. Famous people buried there - Mary Mallon AKA Typhoid Mary, jazz singer Billie Holiday, Frankie Lymon (singer from the 1950s and ‘60s), Lois Nettleton (actress), Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho.

My family is buried there. My living family mom uncles aunts also have a spot there reserved. As do I as of now. Not sure if I’m keeping it yet. I have a family now so things may change

That abc store used to be a Woolworth. Back in the day. They still had a counter for fountain drinks and food growing up. Once that was gone it was never the same

13:20. The building on your right (our left) is Herbert H. Lehman High School. I graduated from there in (drum roll). - 1977.

Manny, I'm 60 now and grew up in Throggs Neck. As a teenager, I hung out in Parkchester and Westchester square. Took the #6 train to the city more times than I can count. I even went to that High School near the Square called Lehman H.S. (the building built over the highway). The highway your passing over near the school is the Hutchinson River Pky. The bus that runs up E. Tremont Ave. is the #40 bus. That highway you passed (after the cemetery was the Bruckner Expressway. You'll get to I-95 when you get deeper into Throggs Neck. That "Frank Bee's" store at 17:38 has been there since I was a kid. You missed SO much! There are areas like Edgewater and Silver Beach that are part of Throggs Neck. At the end of your video, near the cemetery, that housing project is called "Throggs Neck Houses". I grew up there. Just thought I'd share some info from my old area! Also, that "other bridge" you saw was the Throggs Neck Bridge that also goes into queens.

I was raised in The Bronx and I have family in Thoggs neck. I love the neighborhood alot of mixed cultures and great places to eat and beautiful homes. Plenty of transportation the 40 or 42 bus connects you to the 6 train to Westchedter square. And there are express buses to Midtown Manhattan the Number Bx M 8 and BxM9 express bus that takes you downtown in an hour.. So plenty of transportation and walkers paradise. Thanks for sharing your tour. 👍

went to Lehman from 88-92. The bus was either the 40 or 42 or on a good day you could walk home...by Lafayette and Tremont.

You should walk the South Bronx maybe not the best neighborhood but it would be great to here your take about its old Puerto Rican heritage. Also since your an old school hip hop fan it’s the birth place of hip hop, they’ve even got a hip hop museum now.

Used to get a hair cute 10:05 at that red sign store used be be called Reno’s. There was a game store near it as well as a fish place. To the left down the road is McDonald’s on willamsbridge road. That was my main McDonald’s. Across to the left at the church my grandmother worked there when I was younger. This was my neighborhood riding bikes down the square. Going to Lehman high school to visit. Back in the 80s early 90s this was my life and great when growing up. Now days it’s nothing like it once was. People moved out and new people moved in. It’s not what it used to be. But still my home at one point

U passed my block in Throggs neck .. probably the best neighborhood as far as peaceful living in concerned. I originally grew up on fordham which is the complete opposite... just commented to say, those business u mentioned were closed due to pandemic, are actually still open. Everything on that side of the bronx is almost always closed on sunday and everything closes at around 6pm besides restaurants and some delis. good work on the video

Trump does not own that!! I use to play in there as a kid before that was there when there were trails for dirtbikes and abandoned stolen cars starting fires hanging out getting high with my boys and bringing girls back there. The city owns that but they use Trumps name
