Been watching your videos since day 1 and i've commented before about my ties to Washington Heights. I was born and raised on 190th literally 5 minute walk from Dyckman. So happy to see my community getting some love, thank you for this Johnny.
Dominicans have also had the heroin game on lock in NYC for decades now. Both the LES and the Heights have kept the whole city high on dope since the Blue Magic SEA supply dried up and the good number 4 started to flood in from Colombia. Dominican dboys are always business people. Period.
Back in the 90s, me and my dude would drive from Cleveland, Ohio, to Washington Heights to see ''Papi" at his pizzeria, a few times a month and go half on a quarter or half a brick, grab something to eat, and jump right back on the freeway. We usually didn't stay in NYC for longer than an hour or hour and a half, and right back on the freeway. We stuck the chunk right in the glove compartment, pretended like it wasn't there, and never got pulled over once, out of dozens and dozens of trips. It took us anywhere from six and a half to eight hours. It took longer to get home, because we obviously drove a lot safer on the way back. Everytime I passed a cop on the way home, I made sure to make eye contact with them, and maybe even gave him a head knod, just to show him I wasn't scared or worried about him, trying to show him I wasn't afraid of him and had no reason to be afraid, even tho we was basically sweating bullets lol. We would buy bud sometimes too, but we basically could get better quality and prices back home on the bud lol. Plus we didn't want that smell of the bud in the car with the white girl. We were two white guys, with no hats or hoodies on, as low key as we could possibly be. That guy mentioned putting wood chucks in the bud, I've seen that, I've also seen pieces of glass, and nickels (which are really small but weigh 5 grams each lol. I've seen a lot of their tricks of the trade, but I basically just stuck with "Papi", because his product was great, and he did great business. I would call him around 11:00-12:00 at night, and tell him I'll see him at the pizzeria around 7-8am. We never had any problem with Papi, other than it being literally just a few grams short, which he would make up for the next trip. If he shorted us a quarter oz one trip, he would give us back an extra half oz the next trip. He was a great businessman. Then one day his phone was going straight to voicemail, and I was never able to get ahold of him again. I assume he got busted. If you see this Papi, it's "Blanco" lol. Today’s Washington heights ain’t nothing compared to 80s 90s Washington heights it was open drug market back then it was a very dangerous area. A lot of how it really was wasn’t said in this video.
Yep. I used to make trips up there in the mid 90s. Off of Amsterdam Ave. Very dangerous. I'm lucky never to have gotten robbed, killed, or arrested by DTs. I just looked it up recently and read that around 20% of all the murders in the 5 boroughs happened in that one police precinct in some of those years.

I've got a crazy story. A famous drummer and I coming from a gig, went to score at the Heights 3am. After scoring, and getting back to our cars, the cops surrounded us. They looked in my van, saw It was loaded with music gear. The drummer threw the blow on the sidewalk. That's when the cops looked at us and said to the drummer, "Get your shit, and I don't want to see you two here again. We lucked out big time.
sorry my guy but the haze is a Heights/Dyckman thing not from Cali. That official NYC haze had that humid basement taste from being grown in the basement of the buildings/where the super of the building lives.. iYKYK. 😎
I love that I spent my 90s in Jersey and NY. moved there from London in 92 at age of 9 till 2001. When Im watching all this stuff I know all the areas being spoken about. I workd on 79th floor at age of 13/14 in building one of the wtc then reasstaurant in battery park then South Street Seaport summer time and west 4th next to Washington Square Park during school months. alhumdulila blessed childhood.
Big facts for a lot of CT (Bridgeport to Stamford) niggaz it was either a quick drive or a metro north train ride away to get to Washington heights.. without traffic Washington Heights about 45 mins from Bridgeport CT
I’m about 95% sure the apartment complex that Johnny is standing in front of the entrance is where a family friend of mine lives😂😂😂 I remember staying at her apartment and checking out the area, definitely a funky area but not too bad, definitely one of the worst neighborhoods in Manhattan but that’s not saying much tbh. Never saw drug dealing as in the open as when I stayed there, only one night too. There was an old Dominican dude you could tell played absolutely zero games sitting on the corner waiting for cars to come speeding by and he’d do the handoff
Cubans were growing the black down here in Miami late nineties all through the 2 thousands until we got legal then everybody started leaving to either Cali or Colorado but we were getting 6 racks a pee back in the day When you drove it up to New York definitely a lot of good times
I remember when I used to roam those streets. Early 80's, all the weed spots in Inwood were on Nagle Ave (the "record Stores") . Every other business was a record store with pampers in front lol. They mostly sold shit weed - the best spot was off Dyckman, near Post Ave I think - called it the "hole in the wall". Also, I remember hanging in Jew Park off 175th-there was a code back then - H was being sold there but was not sold until it started to get dark and the kids left the park-there was more respect for the neighborhood. When crack hit, it became the Wild West, especially around 163rd and Ft Wash. Glad to have survived that era for sure
some of the very best flower I've ever smoked here in WV come outta Philly back in the 90s and early 2000s. it was fire you don't see today except in very small circles. shout out to my Jewish friends
I once went to a party with this girl we parked and went to the part. When we left a few hours later my car was in the middle of the street. Everyone had double parked I was only car left as traffic went around.

They looked in my van, saw It was loaded with music gear. The drummer threw the blow on the sidewalk. That's when the cops looked at us and said to the drummer, "Get your shit, and I don't want to see you two here again. We lucked out big time.
He's not in Washington Heights, folks. He's in Inwood.
Not important, though. Many people confuse the two neighborhoods.
4:13 Johnny not losing eyes on what is happening around him, EVER.
Good stuff bro
sorry my guy but the haze is a Heights/Dyckman thing not from Cali. That official NYC haze had that humid basement taste from being grown in the basement of the buildings/where the super of the building lives.. iYKYK. 😎
People used to always say that the taste was from them mixing perico on the batch 🤷🏼♂️ lol
You know Apple and Tesla have that look out 👀 on the corner, lol!
I miss the uptown mango pina haze sour days
Thanks for showing love to 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
I love that I spent my 90s in Jersey and NY. moved there from London in 92 at age of 9 till 2001.

That’s my Hood!! Born and Raised! The best weed is up there!!
Been here my whole life. It's changing. Fyi you walked by the best pizza in NYC. Johnnies aka pizza palace . Should of grabbed a slice and brick lol.
Pizza Palace is honestly the best pizza in NYC!!
Big facts for a lot of CT (Bridgeport to Stamford) niggaz it was either a quick drive or a metro north train ride away to get to Washington heights.. without traffic Washington Heights about 45 mins from Bridgeport CT
as someone who lives here this videos r hillllrious
Watching this from the heights
He is not lying I’m always at that spot 💯
Best show on TH-cam period in my honest opinion.
When Johnny got knocked , the slow down of the supply put a serious dent in our lifestyles..
Now it makes sense where the sour went. The kids today would never understand that sour . Got damn you 😂😂😂😂😂
"Thats why you still alive!" lol
Great video keep them coming
This guy makes me laugh, his the rabid 👌😂😂😂
I’m about 95% sure the apartment complex that Johnny is standing in front of the entrance is where a family friend of mine lives😂😂😂 I remember staying at her apartment and checking out the area, definitely a funky area but not too bad, definitely one of the worst neighborhoods in Manhattan but that’s not saying much tbh. Never saw drug dealing as in the open as when I stayed there, only one night too. There was an old Dominican dude you could tell played absolutely zero games sitting on the corner waiting for cars to come speeding by and he’d do the handoff
Just found your channel last month been watching your videos very entertaining and unique loving his channel too
His channel only came out about 4 months ago
Yooo that’s vermilya 🤣 fishy waddup my boyy
Cubans were growing the black down here in Miami late nineties all through the 2 thousands until we got legal then everybody started leaving to either Cali or Colorado but we were getting 6 racks a pee back in the day When you drove it up to New York definitely a lot of good times
They also had grows scattered all throughout the country in some obscure places too
I remember when I used to roam those streets.
I remember getting a zip bagged up in purple bag dubs from a bodega, best haze and sour i ever gotten till this day
I listened to this on spotify while I was at work but the video makes it way more dope
Washington heights is like the mecca for Dominicans in nyc
I buy my weed from Dyckman area.. best weed around NY on the streets, all my friends from any borough always wanna know where I get my weed from
some of the very best flower I've ever smoked here in WV come outta Philly back in the 90s and early 2000s. it was fire you don't see today except in very small circles. shout out to my Jewish friends

Most are. If you see unc or OG selling with one of those jackets with all the NBA team patches then you know.
In the shelter/waiting on voucher; ex krill addict since the 90s and moving hard just to feed his own habit.
Can't miss em by West 4th wasington sq. or by West 34th by the cut blocks on 35th 36th and 8th Avenue.....
