    Today i signed contract with Sunova, and your video review prevent me from getting into company which has bad reputation. You are a life saver, im gonna cancel my contract tomorrow asap. Also if you can recommend which solar company you think is better please based on reputation and affordability.

    Thank you so much for all this information. This is not the first time I hear terrible things about these companies. I do have a very important question. My friend is purchasing a house that needs to get solar because it’s brand new. I told him to not go with these two companies but they told him say they have to because that’s the agreement they have with the builder. Is there any way around this?

  • @AKSSB_Hustle

    So we just bought a house and this company panels are on the house and it a PPA. whats the pro and cons based on your experience

      I’ve been doing solar for a few years and i can answer your questions, if you haven’t already gotten an answer. Just looking out for you. Let me know if you have any questions

    • @Royale_with_Cheeze
      @Royale_with_Cheeze ปีที่แล้ว

      I signed up for a solar PPA 6 years ago with an option to buy out at the 6-year anniversary. That came this past August and I opted to buy out.
      In my personal experience, I think I did really well.
      The cost of installation was zero to me, and for the 6 years I was under contract, I only paid the price per kWh times the energy the panels produced. Not a penny more. The total amount I paid over those 6 years was a little under $5K.
      The buyout price was $8,700.
      For a little under $14K, I own the system outright now.
      The pros of a PPA are (if you stay with the duration of the contract - be it 20 or 25 years) if anything goes wrong with the system, the repair is the responsibility of the provider.
      Although there is generally a 2.9% annual increase in the charge per kWh, in the end, you will likely always pay less to the solar provider than you would to the grid electric company because of their rate increases.
      The only con I can think of is that if you want to sell your home, the prospective buyer would have to take over the remainder of the contract. That buyer might not want any part of it and walk away. I think that some companies may allow you to buy out of the contract if you are selling your home to avoid that.
      If that's the case, you'd have to fork over more money than you can easily scrape up, but you could tell the prospective buyer that the panels are theirs, free and clear, and that they will likely pay zero for electricity. That could be helpful in the sale.

    Guess what, your kw price is not locked in for 25 years, it goes up 2.9% per year. And their equipment is probably the cheapest available and most likely outdated.

    • @LupinTheLynx
      @LupinTheLynx  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually mine is indeed locked. There are definitely ones that do go up as you say with an escalator clause.
      My initial price per kWh was a lot higher than the escalator clause contracts, since mine doesn't change.

    • @duesing6
      @duesing6 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That 2.9 escalator is one of 4 options, and Sunnova only uses very highly rated parts.

    Sunnova representatives keep calling me for confirmation that’s today 9/13/2023 and still haven’t scheduled the removal of the panels. It’s over a year now. So slow to do the job and charging me $3,200. If you’re making a contract with any of these solar companies make sure it will be a favor on your side and not them. They promised me that they would help me with the cost of the roof getting damaged. Zero nada!!! But that’s the Solar Trinity who installed solar panels for Sunova. Stay away from Solar Trinity company that’s my advice.

    • @LupinTheLynx

      The contract doesn't matter. They will knowinglly breach it because the majority of customers are too lazy to fight a legal battle.
      Just don't work with Sunnova or Palmetto in the first place

    Everyone has a different story to tell and as a Sunnova customer here in Pa i have had no issues and i used to call my sales at least twice a week with questions before the install and he always made time for me. I never heard of Palmetto but i did my research before hand. My entire process is been top notch, my energy provider and installer were in constant communication through out and my energy savings are apparent. Your story is unfortunate and i hope it gets resolved eventually.

    • @LupinTheLynx
      @LupinTheLynx  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My initial install was relatively smooth as well. You simply have to wait until you need service of some kind with your system. It will all go downhill from there my guy, and you will be singing a different tune if you ever need to make a work order with Sunnova.

      @@LupinTheLynx i did error in one area, here sunnova is just our financial institution and suntuity is our solar company and our system is Enphase. From what i understand Sunnova took over some bad fly by night companies and it seems they can't handle the load. Again i hope it works out for you in the end.

    • @LupinTheLynx

      @@charlesthompson7436 No, they are willingly neglectful of customers. My installer was Palmetto, and they are fairly big.
      Sunnova also has their own techs. They also close out valid billing disputes without resolving them. They are a train wreck. But thanks for the good luck wishes. I'll need it.

    This video is considered defamation. I have thousands of homeowners that love their Lease and PPA. The owner gets huge cost savings on a bill they will never cancel and the solar company is completely liable for the solar system and protection of the roof. It's a win win for homeowners

      Obvious scummy solar shill is obvious.
      Just look at Sunnova's stock price "NOVA". It's been tanking hard for multiple reasons over the past couple years, one of which is their horrendous reputation has caught up with them.
      Oh and a lawsuit has been opened up by investors for securities fraud. Not surprising since their CEO used to work for Enron back in the day.

    • @derekshelton5365
      @derekshelton5365 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its such a win-win that both companies are failing. There is no guaranteed way out of any of these other than an awfully rated buyout term which is farm more than the panels are worth because their calculations dont include depreciation due to performance and wear and tear. Jut crap from beginning to end. Any homeowner should steer clear of these companies

    All you had to do was call Sunnova and ask for the list of approved installers in the area then make a call to one and schedule the work.
    99% of homeowners will never encounter this problem, he should have replaced his siding before he ordered his solar system if it were possible,I very much disagree that its just a small job removing the system from the side of his home a typical solar install is around 4k and he is wanting to unhook everything, the wiring he removed and replaced were originally inspected by the county and power company before being turned on, hopefully he had it reinspected.
    He should have just had the siding company go around the parts just like the utility company's meter has done.

    • @LupinTheLynx
      @LupinTheLynx  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are an obvious industry shill. Possibly damage control for Sunnova, who is known to post fake reviews of themselves to offset all the negative ones.
      Why is the onus on me to magically know Sunnova has an approved list of vendors for me to inquire about?
      Why did they never offer that list to my many requests to get another provider assigned to my case? Or even just give me one alternative provider for me to contact? (And by the way, it's Sunnova's contractual responsibility to coordinate work on the system)
      And you have no idea what you're talking about about regarding the disconnect. I literally hired an electrician to disconnect everything needed, and he got it done in two hours. SIMPLE TASK.
      Again, you are a solar industry shill, and I hope no one listens to your absolutely garbage take on this.
      Anyone doubting Sunnova's horrendous service to customers and issue resolution, look up the sunnova corporation complaints group on Facebook
