I sung this song when I was 16 at a talent show with my group " The Emperors". I had a voice that sound like little Anthony of the Imperials.. We covered all of the Imperials songs. You know I am 76 yrs old, and I can still sing this song and hit those high notes.
Pearl McKinnon had a wonderful voice. And her performance on her songs were inspirational. The backup musicians on this clip were friends of mine. They also backed up Joey Vann, the lead singer of the "Original" Duprees when he came out of retirement. They were Nick Demeo, Sal DeMeo. Bobby Speracino and Meric. They also backed up and went bon tour with Cleveland Stills Dubs. I worked with them in 1984 after Joey Vann passed. We were called "Vintage". We worked out of Hoboken, NJ.

The original recording of 'Teenagers Dream' on Fury has always been one of my all-time favourites(and the later Pearl and The Deltars cut is good,too) but this is just as good,if not better A wonderful ,unique voice and talent -a real shame Pearl did'nt record more.

MY MEMORY IS A LITTLE FOGGY BUT DURING THE SHOW SHE WAS ASKED TO SING LEAD ON THE SONG "SHARE" BY THE TEENAGERS AS THEY SANG THE BACKGROUND. I CLOSED MY EYES AND IT WAS AS IF FRANKIE LYMON WAS SINGING HIMSELF.
